  1. Not involved directly this year - no longer teaching :greenbounce: (now working in the car industry). Still giving advice though and will be volunteering for the event as a flaggie.
  2. baaaaaastaaarrrrds.................... Rub it in. I don't get to play anymore :( Whats the date on the Altona event. Might be able to get a leave pass for the day. PS. Energy breakthrough is on this weekend Luke....
  3. Real easy to fit a roll cage now. You know you wanna.. :P
  4. Painted my wheels black and wheel nuts silver.......
  5. Makes the set I paid $25 for (everything except the filter elements) look like a bargin :)
  6. Cut em down and shape them to look stock. No one would ever know ;)
  7. My old ute struggled to get 18l/100km on the highway. 14.5 sounds good to me :) Back on topic, can you get copper head gaskets for 4k's. Used to see 5k copper head gaskets advertised in the past. Just thought you may be able to use a copper gasket instead to the standard gasket and spacer.
  8. Not Melbourne, but Wheels in Ballarat will do it.
  9. Bumpers/mirrors yeah. Some KE30 dashes are different. If it looks the same as yours it will fit. Yours looks like my old KE35 :)
  10. Bumpers are the same. Think mirrors are the same Dash is the same. Coupe seats have a flip up function so you can get into the back seat.
  11. edit - black with dress trims or gun metal grey
  12. It's not a bad idea to try as it is cheap and if you can find a spare set of springs your car won't be off the road for to long. Just don't do it to excess like a guy from the TCCAV who flipped every leaf bar the main one. The rear wheels would come off the ground.
  13. Advice. don't try to reset springs yourself. We pulled apart the leaf pack on one of my Corollas and used the old mans press to flatten the main leaf by approx 2 inches (50mm for those who don't speak real measurments :P ). The packs went back together ok, but as soon as the weight of the car went on them, the arch sorta inverted. ended up sitting about 15-20mm off the bump stops, which were later cut in half. Tucked a 225/60R13 up inside the rear guards. Looking back, honestly it rode like crap, but it looked good and its the only car I have owned that I could wash the whole roof from one side of the car.
  14. If you could get them out, I'm sure that someone on here would have a couple lying around. Anyway, why ARP stuff. Used standard bolts on my road and competition 5k's and never broke a bolt....
  15. If he is running enough power to justify a diff swap, it wouldn't hurt to stop the diff winding up under acceleration (the lower control arms) and to stop the diff moving sideways under the car during cornering (panhard rod)
  16. Better acceleration. Old mans auto ke30 was a slug.
  17. My second set was made up from a manifold that was given to me. Used a couple of standard carbs, dodged up a linkage out of old fuel hose. I got hold of a couple of old Speco aircleaners similar to the above. To these I brazed the bases out of a couple of old Corolla aircleaners so they would fit up to the carbies. With a cam and exhaust they would allow the 5k to spin over 7500 rpm and beyond if I was feeling nasty. pics here http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/12720-mytoy-ke20/page__p__173678__hl__+mytoy#entry173678
  18. My first set cost $25 which included everything :)
  19. The 3K-B carbs made my 5K idle smoother. Also felt it accelerated harder with the twins. Was noticeable when the linkage fell off one carbie.
  20. well done on the overall results :)
  21. Next ep due September 26 :)
  22. Cut springs, not really a good idea as it isn't legal......
  23. You can get camber with I live axle. I haven't done it (was on the development list) but there are ways.........
  24. Only been 8 years (to the month) since I last did one. Not that I'm counting...........
