  1. Had a pup do the ligaments in one of its knees - described as a footy injury - jumping down about 2 inches off some concrete...... Luckily the local vet didn't charge heaps and we could pay it off. The new vet sucks though. Changed the medication one of our dogs was on. It died a week later.....
  2. Fitted a KE55 rear bar onto my KE35. Did it help - sorta. Depended on your driving/roads. To me. Felt better on fast open corners. Major suck on tight stuff. Could single spin to a stop at a roundabout. Could even get it to spin up the inside tyre out of hairpin bends - and I was running 225/60r13 tyres on the rear back then. Really need an LSD to make use of the rear sway bar. I tried a rear bar on my competition KE20. Removed it. Would snap sideways in third gear under acceleration with the bar fitted. Ended up softening the rear springs on that car.
  3. You can try to dislodge some of the shit by swapping the two middle plug leads over, holding your foot flat and cranking the engine. It will back fore through the carby, so make sure the air cleaner is removed........ Used to clear the odd flat spot my ke35 had.
  4. How fast do you want to go. How deep are your pockets.... :hmm:
  5. what Taz said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  6. Its the rectangle looking thing in the bottom left of the pic.
  7. Is the anti dieseling(??????) solenoid connected? If it isnt getting power when the engine is running, it will cause running issues - rough idle, stalling etc. My 5K idled rough with the standard 3k carby fitted. Ran fine but would rock the whole car at idle. Got lots of looks sitting at lights - people were asking what the hell was in the car...... When we switched to the factory twin carb set up, idle smoothed out. Did not touch anything else.
  8. Look for Mazda wheels. Right PCD, RWD offset. Ran early RX7 rims on my KE20. 185/60r13 tyres cleared the front struts easy.
  9. Yep Worse part it was self inflicted. Stupid Futsal
  10. breaking my elbow......
  11. Used to be able to buy repro bonnets, front guards and front bumpers. rare spares do sell patch panels. http://www.rarespares.net.au/rarespares/SearchPage.aspx?type=partsfinder&brand=toyota&model=corolla&car=35a&productgroup=panels+%26+rust+panels&pno=0
  12. Same here. Used to rock the whole car at idle - people used to think it had a huge cam in it :) Idled a whole heap better when I went to the 3kb set up.
  13. It's a 4K :P Seriously, we had one in a ke20 and it wouldn't rev much either. Ended up doing a cam regrind.
  14. Even weirder is his fully restored - I mean better than new - 50 cc Honda mini bike
  15. mmmm, wonder if I can convince a mate to take his 6 cylinder Honda(?) motorbike out for a play
  16. Yeah, he could get through that corner flat out the year before in the dry and in the old vehicle. Throw in a lighter vehicle, rain and brain fade you get a 2am rebuild  Other teams couldnt believe we rebuilt it......
  17. Ummm - no. I was banned by the kids from riding the first year I ran a team. Seems that rolling the vehicle and destroying the roll cage a fortnight before the event was not a good thing.........
  18. Hi All, While this is a Victorian event, I'd thought I'd post it here so more people could see it. Please move if you feel fit mods. The organisors of the RACV Energy Breakthrough www.racvenergybreakthrough.net/ need more volunteers to man corners for this years Energy Breakthrough. If you have a couple of hours to spare on either the 20th or the 21st of November and don't mind a drive to Maryborough, they NEED YOU! No experience required, you just need to respond to any incidents on you corner/post. If you are interested, PM myself or contact the organisors direct via the web page. If you have any interest in engineering/racing this is the event for you. There are two tracks operating, plus challengers for younger kids as well. On the track I am marshalling there will be in excess of 100 entries racing for 24 hours in classes for human powered, hybrid and petrol or electric vehicles. Top teams can exceed 900 km in 24 hours and are limited ( :lolcry: ) to 60 km/h - which isn't really enforced :) Cr Mo tubing is common, full carbon/kevlar bodies are becoming common, seen back to pits data monitoring and teams fuel injecting weed eater motors. The need people from around 1 pm on Saturday to around 9 pm and from 7 am on Sunday to 1 pm. Here is an example of what you may see: This was a vehicle I was managing on the first lap of qualifying...... :bash:
  19. When I fitted a KE70 box into my KE35, I had the same issue. Worked out to be around 20% difference between road speed and what the speedo said. There may be different speedo gears that go on the end of the cable but I couldn't be stuffed mucking around. Just drove at an indicated 120km/h on the hwy :)
  20. threw another $300 for a set of big end shells and a cam regrind at mine. It was good for a few seasons of being thrashed in motorsport,
  21. Spode I was spoils by picking my last 5k up for $100 a number of years ago :)
  22. 4k better that a 5k??????? What you talkin' 'bout Willis...................... Either you had a crappy 5k or a really good 4k. We had two ke20's - 1 with a cammed 5k, the other with a big cam and high compression 4k. over the 1/8th mile the 5k was a car length ahead and pulling away
  23. 3k to 5k was 3 seconds quicker around the local autocross track - a reasonable gain for a couple of hours work....
  24. You don't, throw another on one - theyre cheap.
