  1. Could be all sorts of things. Can I suggest you go here and download the diagnostics manual and work through the problem in a methodical manner. This is a Toyota factory book that takes you through things step by step depending on the fault. As you would have a factory wiring setup, it should be particularly useful.
  2. You are indeed in luck. I have one silver cheviot 70mm cap identical to the one in your pic. I got these new with some cheviot rims some time in the early 90's I think. For some reason I have kept one of them. I don't think it has ever been on the car, I didn't like them, but it has been banging around in various boxes so needs a clean. It's yours for the princely sum of $26,844,523 Zimbabwe Dollars. When you work out how much that is, PM me your address and I shall get it out to you.
  3. I am pretty sure I have one as new. Will have a look.
  4. http://rmcarburetors.net/ This is Rodger from Toymods business
  5. The noise, smell, heat, blood, excrement, gore is something you never forget. Especially on the pig chain. The pigs knew what was going on. When man becomes extinct, it's the pigs that will take over...........
  6. Years ago I worked at Gilbertson's meatworks, and the spectacle of the kill floor, and stock crates of bobby calves never put me off veal or the limitless supply of eye fillet....drool.
  7. Yes the hubcaps and trims were good. The car looked as if it had been standing in long grass as it was badly rusted underneath and around the base unfortunately.
  8. We crossed there. Earlier bigports are three rib, in rear and front wheel drive. There are later 7 rib bigports, all front wheel drive engines. Positively no 3 rib smallports.
  9. Should add to answer your specific question. If it has TVIS it should be a bigport, no TVIS it is a smallport or someone has taken the TVIS off....... But that is probably unlikely. Assuming the engine number matches the car, simplest way to tell is from the spark plug valley cover. Bigport leads enter above each plug, smallport leads run underneath after entering at the front of the head.
  10. Absolutely Trav, I knew where you were coming from. And it is a good general guide. Just making sure Michael knows to delve a bit deeper when he susses the motor out.
  11. I came down to suss out how accessible the clutch hard line was on the TA22 while you guys were chatting, before chugging off in the blue Renault parked opposite you guys. Actually initially came for that line, forgot all about it once I saw the KE25
  12. And cam covers are not a reliable indicator. Waits for first post that refers to them as rocker covers.....
  13. Clearly someone trying to impress his 14 year old girlfriend so he can get a root.
  14. You were the guys who got into the KE20 and went down Warrigal rd? I was going to stop for a chat but had to get to a 5 year old's birthday party before my wife got too narky.
  15. :jamie: :) :D :y: Although at the rate I have been spending on yahoo lately, I might have to!
  16. Yes I was well pleased. For the first 10mins I went around and around it not knowing where to start. Got all the bits I was missing, and as usual, when you roll up at the window with a wheel barrow full and a rear seat bottom on top, the guy doesn't get off his seat, so it went real cheap too.....
  17. Is anyone able to post up the user name of the ebay sellers of good quality items?
  18. Well I am a very happy boy this weekend. Wandered along to Pick pay n Go in Ringwood and found a complete KE25! It sure as hell aint complete now. I raped the shit out of it at the number six dance. Late model auto. Body is very poor but most of the trim was excellent. Essentially most of the interior/exterior trim is now gone, all glass, bonnet, grille, under grille trim etc. Instrument cluster, auto console and all mechanicals remain. Doors (stripped), bootlid and guards are shot. There was also an AE82 twin cam hatch in the carpark presumably for sale that looked half reasonable whilst glancing at it walking past.
  19. As you will have gathered from my Toymods posts, I am insanely jealous. This is one of those pickups that you dream about, but they never happen. Look forward to seeing it in time.
  20. :hammer: :y: :y: Don't you just hate it when you know you have something.........somewhere from River on Toymods who knows these things. 2T-G engine Intake valve head diameter => 43mm (44.5mm from April 1973) Exhaust valve head diameter => 37mm (38.5mm from April 1973) and from Styler always a reliable technical source 220 - smaller valve, 248 cams, 9.8 or 9.2 compression, single springs 222 - big valve, 256 cams, 8.8 compression, single springs 260 - big valve, cams ??, 9.8 or 8.4 or 8.7 compression, double springs 261 - big valve, cams ??, 8.3 or 8.4 compression, double springs 262 - big valve, reinforced, 256 or 244 or 240 cams, double springs
  21. hrgggghhhh. Sorry, that was me trying to stifle a laugh...... You may be 'surprised' at the cost. Unless the seal is damaged, there are many other more likely areas for leaks to occur. Not having a go at you at all, but investigate very carefully before lashing out on new seals which may not be the cause of the leak.
  22. Yep that's me. You will always get help here, but not if you ask ridiculous questions. I look forward with interest to a tech post explaining how you did it when it is finished...... You have of course done some preliminary measurements, worked out for example, how you will mount the starter motor into the bellhousing when the non crossflow head means the exhaust and carburettors are on the same side as a 4A starter in a AE71. So obviously you will require a custom bellhousing which makes the whole proposition ridiculous. You can consider this post 'help' by encouraging you to forget the whole idea. Next time think about it first. If you were planning to put a higher power engine in, then perhaps custom bellhousings would be worthwhile, and I am sure if you have a brief search here and on google, you will find plenty of examples.
  23. Replace it with a nice VDO item. I picked up one out of a 5 series BMW at pickapart. Volvo's sometimes have them. Otherwise they go pretty cheaply on ebay. After hearing this, I wonder if the KE30 item that fell in my bag at the wreckers recently works. But what I really hope is the TE27 item I have coming works :(
  24. Of course it wont fit. Just put another 4AC in FFS.
  25. Styler, where exactly did you get yours from. I have spoken to one of the Euro guys, who was very disappointed with his Thai ebay items. At some stage I need to get some for my KE25.
