  1. I've got an article somewhere about the Bill Buckle modified cars. When I find it, I'll scan and post it up. Bill Buckle was and still is a Toyota Dealership in NSW, who did a run of modified KE10's with dealer warranty back in the 60's. From memory they had head/cam/exhaust and some suspension modifications.
  2. Possibly it is a Bill Buckle car? Even then, would seriously doubt the LSD.
  3. You're being had
  4. I could be vaguely interested as long as they are not to extreme, or exxy.
  5. http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/motor-oil/hpr/hpr_30 Direct link to product since the lube guide didn't carry across in the cut and paste. This is what penrite recommend for a 2T, you need to put Celica into the lube guide.
  6. Yes, 2014 are the solid disc calipers. Or what are generally called ADM. 2022's are the vented calipers. As above the solid calipers can be fitted over a vented disc, but only if you grind down the face of the pad - don't do it.
  7. I loved 'A Town Like Alice' when I read it. I'm going through a real Charles Dickens phase at the moment - bit of a classics fan. 'David Copperfield' is a must read. Have just started on 'The Old Curiosity Shop' Although my all time favourites would have to be, 'Power Without Glory' by Frank Hardy, and 'The Day of the Jackal', 'Dogs of War' and 'The Odessa File" And don't tell anyone, but I am an absolute 'Pride & Prejudice' tragic. The Horatio Hornblower series had me spending some very late nights with the bedside lamp on too. Oh and then of course there is .................... etc
  8. I wouldn't get too carried away with the front brakes. My AE86 setup in (funnily enough) my AE86 would stop on a 10 cent piece. And the KE20 is pretty light. Good move to take your time I think. Bear in mind you can buy various inserts on US ebay much cheaper than here, KYB AGX's etc. Something adjustable would be good to enable you to find a good spring/damper combo. And AE86 coilovers are everywhere.
  9. What about the calipers, discs, hubs? All expensive. By strut spacer I presume that means a spacer to raise the insert. By rights, the strut tubes should be cut down to suit the insert length, but not an issue as long as the spacer locates the insert firmly when the gland nut is done up. Be wary of inserts with insufficient travel that are lifted up by spacers, further limiting the potential travel of the piston before they bottom out. Springs are pretty cheap and you would probably need to expect to have to experiment a bit. Make sure you tell me what works, after you do my R & D for me :laff: Camber tops obviously won't fit as above, unless you drill the towers, which I wouldn't do. You should factor in some RCA's (roll centre adjustors) to eliminate bumpsteer.
  10. Or S13? Not sure. I never had that confirmed by anyone though. Someone on Toymods looked into it. Problem with using the KE20 tops is that you will have positive camber.
  11. Yes, the stub axle inclination. That's the one problem, hence the need to go coilover with the small diameter springs and adjustable tops. And of course you need TE27 adjustable tops. So it does start to add up after a while. Though you won't have any trouble selling on the AE86 strut tops.
  12. Tally, how much camber have you been able to get before the strut strikes the inside of the strut tower?
  13. http://www.importmonster.com.au/yahoo?cat=2084005257&term=ae86#2084005257 Make sure you get calipers, as they can be expensive separately
  14. Head on over to AE86drivingclub. I suspect you will find some there. Personally, if you can wait I would look on yahoo. RA60 etc will also fit, but I would stick with the AE86 stuff for ease of supply of pads, discs etc. S13 are completely different. Make sure you know what you are getting, and don't buy any crap. Educate yourself a bit too. Be aware that all AE86 strut housings and caliper brackets are identical whether JDM or ADM. Buy "JDM" calipers. They fit over the vented discs and have 2022 cast into the body. Don't get sucked in to buying ADM solid disc calipers that people have installed over vented discs by grinding the pad face down. Ask yourself why so many people are selling off single strut inserts after the other side has blown due to bottoming out. There is a lot of crap on there about which is the best insert to use
  15. Damn you HP, right again. :laff:
  16. Locked diffs are not for everyday driving. Pull it out and put a conventional centre in it/ Then search around. Plenty of threads here about diff options.
  17. Actually, the glass is convex, the lens is concave! Anyway, they look stock except for the sexy Cibie mouldings!!
  18. Cibie make a 7 inch convex lens in a semi sealed.
  19. Well Ke1x will be shortest, but you also need to factor in location of spring hangers and so on.
  20. I'll post up a pic of my English wheel later...........just kidding. On Gasolene this week the guy was going through the theory of it whilst making up a bonnet half for a 1930's Alfa replica body. The thing was amazing. So much curvature. They even used arc welding on the panel section joins, rather than TIG, so it would be an authentic representation. Edit; I just checked for the catchup shows on their website, but doesn't look like they are there anymore? (Channel 31)
  21. Wow, fantastic standard of presentation. Very impressive!
  22. Yeah, you KE55 guys need to toughen up. We KE1x guys are hardcore. Here's my wheel arch repair section. All us KE1x guys have these.
  23. Out of interest I just checked a TA22 diff I pulled out of a car on the weekend. That is 50 x 80 x 50 x 80
  24. Yes welcome! Always great to see a new 25 on here, and an enthusiastic owner. Panels are hard to come by even here, especially a decent boot lid. They are available in fiberglass now from japan but fairly pricey. I'll PM you a contact in the UK who may be able to help with part sourcing, otherwise, join the ebay roundabout. I suspect few people bother checking UK ebay for KE2x stuff, so you may strike it lucky........if you are prepared to wait.
  25. Nice one Mick!
