  1. Check on yahoo and US ebay. Cheaper than buying here, plus availability. Just be sure you get the caliper body AND the slide plate. Also the pad locating clips can be a pain to find, and aftermarket clips don't fit so well.
  2. So as an example, here is the Sprinter version of the KE25 (still designated a KE25) sprinter.pdf sprinter 2.pdf Plus there were TE25's with 1400cc T engines, as well as TE27's with the 2TG There were also 4 door versions with 1200 or 1400 cc engines, although these were designated as KE20's and TE20's even though they bear closer resemblence behind the C pillar to a KE30 4 door, rather than what we know as a KE20. Edit: there was a KE25 for sale a while back in NSW that had an SL badge on the grille that appeared to be an import. It got snapped up pretty quickly, perhaps this is the one you have?
  3. Don't worry Carbonboy, if I end up helping on the BBQ, I'll make sure you get an extra good one!
  4. It's a Corolla. In Japan, Sprinters were sold in different dealerships to Corolla's and had slight differences in trim and some panels. KE15/17's are an exception here, they were Corolla Sprinters. Things demarcated from the xE2x models. TE27 Trueno is a good example. It is a Sprinter whereas a Levin is a Corolla. If you look closely, there are numerous small differences. But there were multiple models within each model range with lesser specification, including 3K engined models. This continued on up until xE5x series I think before a hiatus with the xE7x rangs (not sure about that) before reappearing in the xE8x range.
  5. You have GOT to bring this along to the Classic Japan display!
  6. You could also use a punch around the base of the block to assist in locating the gasket
  7. Very nice! What's the story of the heatshield stuff you have used. Is it purpose designed stuff you can buy, or have you made it up from something scrounged? I've got factory shields on my dizzy/starter, but they always look a little insubstantial.
  8. Well back in the days, we used to put MX30 Cressida arms in TA22's (from distant memory) which gave about 2 or so degrees. But once they're in they're in. Not sure if TA22 and RA23 are the same, however TA23 and RA2x are. Having said that though, how many people actually flick their camber back and forth with adjustable tops to suit say track work vs road. I reckon once they are in, most people just leave them alone. Mouth is watering thinking about those fish and chips......
  9. Interesting filtration on the AE86!! Should have let me know, could have borrowed my ARC filter box. So do we know who won the sheepstation?
  10. And under the brake master cylinder and battery tray.......etc.......
  11. Just for completeness, I'll link this in here http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/55583-ke1x-paint-codes/page__p__561759__hl__%2Bpaint+%2Bcodes__fromsearch__1#entry561759
  12. Seriously, they are all like that. Only option is to get welding on the holes, and try and stop progression of any surface rust. All those locations are typical.
  13. Totally unavailable. Custom jobbie. Bear in mind the original bushes are within a steel sleeve
  14. I'm with Chillin. If your window lips are corroded away, water runs down into the boot. Also have a serious look at the inner rear wheel arches. You may well find holes there, where spray thrown up ends up in the pockets.
  15. Correct I think yours is a late 3KB from a KE25
  16. Here is the link to the flares mentioned above http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/43251-fs-te27-flares-set-of-4/page__p__523640__hl__flares__fromsearch__1#entry523640
  17. It depends on what it needs, and how much you can do yourself. Nice to see someone who appreciates what their parents have sacrificed for their kids. I hope my kids are like you..... .T. on these forums does good quality fiberglass reproduction TE27 flares.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExWfh6sGyso Ther's always a Python solution
  19. No doubt they would, but you would need to modify the rails to suit. AE86 seats are just newer crap than KE30/55, I wouldn't bother
  20. Do NOT buy the Thai boot rubber. It is absolute unusable rubbish. The external shape is sort of right, but it has none of the complex moulding of the genuine seal. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/50942-rubber-kit-advice-for-ke20/page__p__521021__hl__seals__fromsearch__1#entry521021 I would have a look at any aftermarket seal before you buy it. In preference, I would look at using a well made universal seal, or think seriously about getting something brand new off a current model that looks reasonably similiar that you could cut down. Boot seals can't vary that much over 40 years
  21. Manuals here http://www.aeu86.org/index/technical-ae86-manuals/cat/9/topic=5158 the engine diagnostics manual is invaluable
  22. Don't tell Dave, he'll get a fat head :laff: But yes it is a great car that TE27
  23. Whose KE15 is that?
  24. Here you go. A couple of years after Ben-89's article, so obviously they were available for a while. I wonder if they continued into the KE2x era? Buckle Corolla.pdf
  25. I found my article, it's in Wheels from July 1970 and details a KE11 with a bit more detail including some photos. I'll try and post up a scan on Monday.
