  1. Frontline is the bomb, slightly pricier than others but I used it on Loki & literally saw fleas run away. Ticks not so much a problem down this way, but is worthwhile protecting against them anyway.
  2. What sort of hearing impediment do you need to have to think that a Toyota I4 sounds anything like a Lamborghini V12? :blinks:
  3. Congratulations on the wedding. :y: Good to see it's not trying to kill you mid-corner anymore too!
  4. I had a ball & didn't even compete, in like Flynn for next year! :D
  5. I have another tower with Windows 7 I've been meaning to swap HDD's & DVD drives into, just CBF really. Scored a set of Logitech X-530 speakers in exchange for some labour, just need to upgrade from the Compaq V55 CRT to a flat-screen monitor & I'm laughing. :) *reaches limit of tech-speak*
  6. If anything, the KE70 would be a trailer only motorkhana/khanacross car, 5K powered seems a nice setup. :) An AE82 versus an AE86/AE71 with similar power to weight ratios would be an interesting battle as far as lap-times go. While at the 6hr at Winton, there was a Team GAD member driving both an '82 & a '70 that were 4AGE BP powered. Once he adjusted to driving a FWD, the '82 was slightly quicker. Having said that, the head-gasket in the '70 cracked the sads before anything conclusive could be reached. Good food for thought though. It's also been happy times gathering parts, being at Winton gave me a good kick in the arse to get out there in my own car rather than riding shotgun in the safety car. Received a set of MRP adjustable coil-overs in the mail & waiting on AusPost to bring me a set of drive-shafts for an E-series gearbox. Also dislodged some spiders & started sanding the front end of the shell. Oh yeah, miss this.
  7. No such wizz-bang techno-gear here guys, Nokia N97. On the bright side, I've managed to convince my computer that a 6220 Classic will do the same job until it comes back. Hurrah for Windows XP SP3! :D
  8. I had more numbers, email, addresses etc than a SIM can handle, backup phone in meantime. Making a hardcopy once I get it back.
  9. WGMG - Waiting for my phone to be repaired after I dropped it in a puddle. No phone numbers & no internet access makes Luke something something.
  10. Is this of any use to you?
  11. The metal filler & bog usually have the same base resin ingredient, so will probably fail due to the heat. From what I've seen people do in the past, the method of using finer & finer hand-files, then sandpaper & then polishing seems to have done the job pretty well. It's just a bit of work that's all. :)
  12. Soooo...about that update? :P
  13. WMMH - My dog. Had a long, very physical day at work & then had to run around afterwards doing the little things you have to do, rather than want to do. So my mood was not the greatest when I got home, my house-mates know to leave me alone when I'm like that. Walk out the back door to see him bolt across the yard from his kennel & launch straight at me at chest height. Don't know about you guys, but it's hard to be pi$$ed off when there's something that's always happy to see you when you get home.
  14. :poke: Bump.
  15. I guess it would've been for me if I'd watched the whole thing. Only watched it when it started raining/hailing on me while I was trying to get the brakes back together. Despite being a Hawthorn supporter, cars get priority. :) In other news, I received an undersized crank pulley for a BP 4AGE from TRD ke70. Planning to put it on during the swapover, so things like my water pump & alternator don't crack the $h1ts entirely during my planned trackdays. After cruising the For Sale threads though, I'm half tempted to buy a KE70 with all the parts out there! Just sorting out postage & there'll be some more shiny bits on their way. *insert suspense here*
  16. That it is, drum brakes are better for drift yo... P.S - Up yours... :P Good game, better Sydney won it than Collingwood or Geelong :)
  17. Well, my wreckers run was successful! Found a set of front discs & rear drums from an AE82 hatch that were in very decent condition. I think I know the cause behind the strange feeling in the brakes, the discs were worn under the minimum thickness (12.5mm), the drums just over maximum diameter (201mm) & all the pads/shoes had borderline minimum material thickness (1.0mm) left on them. Lesson learned on how hard trackdays are on parts compared to normal driving. :) Replaced the lot in between rain & hail sessions, bled the system again & bedded the brakes in this morning. I have stopping ability again! :D
  18. 1996 or 1998? :P Edit: Bugger it, nice work!
  19. I need this.
  20. Plus a trip to the wreckers tomorrow morning to scope out some more bits. Going to be fun with our predicted weather conditions, crud. P.S - GO HAWKS!
  21. Yes, especially when in combination with being a daily. It sounds cool, but will be a pain to deal with what would effectively be a racing-spec engine in traffic.Mind you, this is just opinion. :) Lots. Those kind of cam-specs require after-market engine management, as the factory computer will have no hope. The factory valve springs/shims have a similar hope of survival. You'd want to also take advantage of those camshafts by having the head ported/polished, maybe skimmed to up the compression a bit.
  22. It's been a while... I probably should have a seperate thread for the daily, but it only gets worked on when something breaks & I can't be arsed moving the BT related content over. Besides, it's become so engrossed in this whole saga it wouldn't feel right. Anywho, wanting to get a taste for motorsport, I took up an opportunity to drive in a tarmac motorkhana organised by TCCAV. It was a non-timed event, which was good as there was no pressure & the only things to worry about were the state of the car & not crashing. Which I did after several losses of control, but for me finding the limit of what my car & myself could handle was the point of the day. Luckily there is just a small dent in the rear passenger door from a signpost, which someone put back into the ground for me. Thankyou! A few photos of the day can be found here: http://www.rollaclub...ar/page__st__75 Yesterday I noticed that the brakes weren't feeling right, so I gave the system a flush & fluid change. Pedal feel & stopping ability was better, but on the way home I started getting weird pulses through the pedal under moderate braking. Kind of like ABS, but, obviously not. It comes & goes a little, not rhythmic like a warped disc would be. Car's up on stands, about to discover what's up (read: how expensive this will be). Before the suggested TC brake upgrade comes along, I have TC struts laying around somewhere but CBF changing hubs. :P Edit: I also have some bits for Gokai on the way, so progress has recommenced on that front too!
  23. Ditto, which is why I've gotten off my arse & started working on my car again. Must rep da bigport, must beat Subaru_Kid! :P
  24. Shiny things are shiny.
