Ah, yeah, just a short drive up the road... :blinks: We need beer next time! Cheers for coming along for the ride. :y: It's quite easy really, procrastination is half of it. :D You gave me the perfect setup, what else am I meant to do?

Here's a Google Maps link to the meet up point at the BP Calder - Outbound: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=-37.665317,+144.747748&hl=en&ll=-37.665325,144.747963&spn=0.010174,0.013797&sll=-37.665427,144.747249&sspn=0.002544,0.003449&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A Remember, we meet from 7am & leave at 7.30am. Believe me, you will get left behind if you are not there on time. Having attended as a spectator the last few years, it is so much easier to get in when it's early & if you're arriving late & want to park somewhere in particular....umm....yeah....good luck with that. $20 a car is a bargain, bring some mates & the entry per person just gets cheaper. No shortage of variety of what's on display either. Blue Things a 1988 build, so you may just see her on the oval... :blinks:

That's what she said... *punches self in face* I'm not a 100% on what's going to happen to that engine, still investigating the pros & cons of different options. What I do know is that I'm a sucker for a dirty bigport. I must say an enormous THANKYOU to azza91 for bearing with me on the eventual sale, we met only briefly but he's good man IMHO. Lives in a beautiful part of the country too, lucky bastard. :P Also a thankyou to bAker & KEhendo for answering all of my slightly noob-like questions! :y:

Not at all, you go through your likes & anything that posts dribble, anything you question or wonder what the hell you were thinking you unlike. Same for the friends list, feels good. :)

So, I put a 4AGE into Blue Thing a while ago. Can't say I noticed much of a performance increase. This photo will only make sense to Corolla people, as they say, a picture tells a thousand words.

Sounds like you need to do a "Friends & Likes Purge/Cleansing", makes your news feed like new again.

The Ones I Let Get Away...miss You Guys
carbonboy replied to slamburglar's topic in Rides - non-Toyota
I love the photo of your Audi with the front bumper full of snow! Sad to hear about the Ovlov, as B.L.Z.BUB said the other car must be a serious mess. -
I'll admit, I didn't need to see the Cossie to get excited, I'm just stoked they're making a 6th one. Sure, milk the franchise for all it's worth blah blah blah, I don't care, I'm a fan. :) Yes I realise that it's nothing like how things are in the real world, don't care, we all need a bit of fantasy & turn-your-brain-off entertainment every once in a while. :P

Picnic At Hanging Rock Car Show 2013
carbonboy replied to TOMMYS Ke 11's topic in General Mechanical
You'll see me there. :) -
Despite my usual hatred for anything non-efi, I've actually been looking into this recently. The main concern I've come across is if a 32/36 is big enough (even with larger jets) to support a 4AGE beyond standard. So far the answer has been a somewhat fuzzy 'should be', Slo030 was onto a good idea by using the GZE intake manifold as a base. The downside appears to be the runner lengths as Dave mentioned.

If you're not on them already, two forums I can recommend are ausmini.com & minidriver.com.au . BMW motorcycle head for the win!

I had a limited budget to stick to, so an SSD was out of reach. Shopping around for the best prices did allow the purchase of the new power supply, everything in the photo for a touch under $500. Technology can be scary cheap! After seeing a few Caterham/Lotus/kit cars at the Winton 6hr, I'm with you on the really really wanting one!

Fear not, the communications methods are being modified as we speak. We are working on making knowledge of events etc to be made more readily available to members. Dirt in the daily, no worries. Doing a dirt event in the project car...sorry, gonna be a princess & say no thanks! Tarmac on the other hand... ;) I had a ball, if you hit something other than a flag/witches hat you were doing something very wrong & you only forget to put your drivers window up once! :lolcry:

WMMH - After some computer issues, I've gone & gotten myself a new toy (some assembly required). Nothing spectacular, but pretty good bang-for-buck.

I've had a hankering to get into motorsport of some description, but had absolutely no idea where to begin. Probably not best that I cut my teeth on a 6 hour event or similar, so I took up an opportunity to take part in a practice day. This was organised via the Toyota Car Club of Australia & the Ford Four Car Club to be held at the grounds (recently cleaned up & readied for use) in Weribee. No timing was involved, so there was not pressure & having fun/learning was the order of the day. We had drivers ranging from some 'older' gentlemen in hand-built specials (some with some very interesting engine & drive-train set-ups), to some early -teens who were learning the basics of car control in their Dads Moke. All types of vehicles too, an Hyundai Excel, a Honda CRX, an older Ford Laser, half a dozen MX5's, a new GT86 & a new BZR (yep, new cars out there in the dirt), a Mini & a new-ish WRX that was just insanely fast on the low-grip surface. There were 3 configurations of witches hats set-up & a page of different tests to choose from, simply a matter of picking which route you were going to take & off you go. Being practice, there were no penalties if you hit a witches hat or like me, forgot which way to go next. You just correct the hats you knocked over after your run for the next person & all is good. There was also the opportunity to either go for a ride with some more experienced drivers or have them ride with you in your car & give you some feedback. I highly recommend it! The best part, the entry fee was just $15. Yes, $15 to be able to go to a relatively safe, controlled environment & (to the extent of intelligent behaviour) literally throw your vehicle around & see what it can do. How cheap do you want to get?!? Okay, I did have acquire myself a CAMS Level 2 Speed licence, but as I had purchased a day licence less than 6 months ago, handing in that d/l with the application form gives you the cost of the d/l off of the full licence. So the 12 month L2S only cost $75 which will cover me for any event I wish to do (hillclimbs, sprints, trackdays etc), also looking at acquiring steward/scrutineers tickets through CAMS to be able to help out at events. There's an actual competition on the 24th of February, being hosted at the same venue. Am thinking of entering simply because it's so much fun. Anyway, enough talk, videos are still uploading but I have some photos.

If there's a way for interstate members to possibly order one of these, I'd be keen. Could possibly even take bulk order & distribute to other Vic members (if they're keen) from my end to ease the load on your end? I'm partial to either the RC header font or the Sega-style.

Ahh, yep, that'll do it! :( Any time mate, glad to hear you got things sorted! :y:

WMMH - Fuel economy figures for Blue Thing with a 5 speed gearbox: 7.11 litres per 100km (or 14.06kms per litre). Not fantastic by todays standards, but not bad for a vehicle that was built in 1988 & rather loaded with gear. Oh, sitting on 110km/h without the engine screaming it's head off & deafening you is nice too. :)

Same same, it's a coup for him for sure, I meant the clients sound like a bunch of morons. Basing contracts etc on an auto-completed word in a search engine? You don't need clients like that.
-
These clients based their knowledge of someone's financial situation on a reference made by Google? Some sound business practices right there...
-
Aren't they the same distributor caps as those found on equivalent engine/year Mini's?

WGMG - My Windows 7 computer decided to fully crack the $h1ts & wouldn't even boot up. So, open the case, rip the guts out & replace it with my old Windows XP system. I got so attached to Win7 in such a short time..... :( Am now saving for a new system. *sigh*
