  1. I'm not a fan of the spray can paint job or the body kit but its trav's car. The spray on taillight tint was a stuff up but thats how you learn,, the hard way. It scraped off easy as. Trav loves corollas just like all of us on here. I admit i have done some really stupid shit when i was young too like buy fake ass chrome rims, use AC sheeting to fill rust holes the size of footballs in my panels, hook up 12v battery's in the boot that rolls around because i couldn't afford 8 gauge cable. He's just trying something new, even if it turns out shit which some things have. He's having fun and thats what we are all on here to do. He probably did the spray can job and all the other shortcuts because of money. He's a p plater, he loves his car and wants it modified. Let him have his fun and leave him alone.
  2. Not meaning to butt in but did you say alternator? I was thinking of getting the alternator on my 4age rebuilt. I want it to have about 80-100amp
  3. I will need a car trailer soon, thought about buying a second hand one for about $1000, use it for what i need, give it a quick paint job then piss it off for a few hundred more than i bought it for... man was i wrong. Couldn't get one for under $4,300. I'm just going to hire one every time i need it. Nice project, keep the pics coming!
  4. Finished the gearbox and used propper camera for once! Bought new clutch slave cylinder and painted black engine enamel everywhere. Before After obviously, :)
  5. Nice car bolted to your turbo, lol! Pretty sweet ride man! :)
  6. I don't kow if you have Premier tint where you are but they offer soem amazing deals on radio, Whole car tinted for $100. I took my ea ford down there and looked at there $100 tint and it was too light, I paid $200 and got darkest leagl metalic tint. Looked sweet as with lifetime warranty. Heres a photo of a photo of my ford with tint
  7. I put the Ae92 sx calipers and disks on my Ae82 Single cam seca, Massive diffence as i went from solid disk to ventelated disks. All up the conversion cost me $270, now it stops on a dime. Gotta thank andrew (bowler) for that though :)

  9. Merry chrismas Jarrad and to everyone else too! Looking fward to this cruise, bringing the wags too.
  10. Not sure then, as long as it looks good. You wont notice small inprefections when its installed in the car. I took another pic thismorining but still looks way too shiny. Its a metalic silver but does not look like chrome. I bought my mum a new digital camera for xmas, might borrow it for better pics in the future... he he.
  11. Been a while since i checked this ride out. looking good! :D looks better with the rest of the body kit on, looks like a drift car from behind, hehe I wish you well with the tint but i highly recommend you test spray on a few empty plastic coke bottles so you get the idea of how thick you want it and how it will look through the light. I'm pretty sure it will look hazy when you look through it. You can buy tint on a roll, bit tricky to put on though.
  12. Thanks mate :D Its not quite as shiny as what it looks like on the pic, the flash on my phone made it look like that. The color is called Cast alloy, I'll take another pic tomorrow in natural light. I think the reason you got fish eyes is because the air temp was hotter that the surface you were spraying. It could happen if your gearbox was cold then you bring it out in the sun or had a heater to dry it out.
  13. More progress pics :D
  14. Great speech Raven ;) I think this is a great club and I'm sure many good things are still to come! Merry Christmas to everyone. :D
  15. Cheers for the advice Moe :bash: , might just paint it with the 2k! That's one less thing to worry about now, lol.
  16. Small update, removed both gearboxes of the motors and cracked the shits with the rust, can't get rid of it! I'll clean out the bell housing then paint the box in silver, engine block will be black and cam covers same colour as body ( depending if i can get it in high temp paint )
  17. Nice wheels, what size are they? Do you have any problems with the tires rubbing on the guards?
  18. sounds great, is that the 86kw bluetop motor? Don't you run the risk of cracking the head without the radiator connected? Oh yeah, 100kms in first... nice! Picks up pretty well :)
  19. Another quick pic of tonights work. Thats one roll used, proberly need another 2 rolls so aprox $350 total. I'll proberly wait to do the rest coz i really need to scrape up all the cash i can for the respray.
  20. I got no idea, a mate of mine works in the car audio trade and said my way is heaps cheaper than the real stuff, I don't know how thick dynamat is but my stuff is about 2.5mm thick and its really sticky tar stuff, It sounds like its deadening the sound coz there is less echo in the car, feels more dense and when i tap the panels it doesn't sound all tinny like it used to. Heres a warning i didn't get told before, don't use scissors to cut it cos it stuffs them and watch out for the sharp edges on the matting, i have a deep slice in my finger that happened about 1 hour ago
  21. Thanks for the info, is the top one the 4ac box? I'm not sure about keeping the 4age box still. It does crunch second and i have a heavy duty clutch and a machined flywheel on the 4ac and the gears go through silky smooth cos i got it serviced not too long ago. Just don't want to be chucking out a perfectly good working gearbox. Its hard enough to get rid of the old 4ac engine, especially when it went really well, some guys thought i was running a 4age in my seca on a cruise coz it kept up with other 4age's.
  22. Got a video of the car yet? :)
  23. As bowler said, I want to put sx springs in and maybe koni's. Not too sure about the gearbox, I been thinking that the 4ac and 4age gearbox might be the same ratio's. My 4ac when it was running went to about 30km/h in 1st, 4age goes to 40km/h in first. The reason that the 4age goes faster in 1st is because the engine rev's to 7.5k instead of 6k rpm. Thats my theory anyway :) Bit of an update: Cleaned both engines with the new Karchar pressure washer that i just bought. Removed the aircon, power steering pump, starter motor, thermostat and few other bits off the 4age, getting ready to swap the gearbox's over. Been busy tonight body deadening the car. I painted bitumen paint over the floor and internal panels on the car then sticking dyno mat everywhere. Its not really dyno mat but looks like the stuff and works the same. It cost me $112 for 10 meters by 220mm roll. I'm saving as much as i can to pay for the spray painting. Especially around this time of year when i still have to buy Crissy presents and go away on a holiday with a group of mates, and i don't get paid for holidays cos I'm a sub contractor. I have also been painting bits and pieces on the engine. Heat reflectors, engine mounts, brackets and thermostat. I want to paint the cam covers the same colour as the body colour. Here's a few random pics of stuff i been doing. Boot before sound deadening Black Bituman paint Dyno Mat stuff (bunnings style) lol. :D Nissan X trail sandy colour, The colour i picked to paint my car Oily 4age Clean 4age, just after pressure washing Engine mounts (4ac ones are painted) Chromed up the bolts 4age vs 4ac
  24. I can't believe your getting a hoist, thats so cool! :P
  25. Is that what you did with your 4age conversion with your auto 4ac gearbox?
