  1. I'm not too worried about ram air, just need some cold air. I was just reading all about ram air and i understand what your talking about with negative atmospheric pressure. I just want colder air rather than the hot stale air from the engine. I'm not really a fan with bonnet scoops so i might scrap that idea, especially now i know about negative pressure. Under the wheel arch wont be a good idea unless i have a sealed box under there otherwise it will get covered with mud and hit by stones. The scoop on the side will also have negative pressure, probably more than the bonnet.
  2. Been a while since i checked this out. Its got me wondering why the rear bumper didnt line up, too short one side and longer on the other..
  3. Hi all, I've been fixing up my Ae82 corolla and I'm dropping in a 4age in. I am thinking about doing a cold air intake setup and was just wanting to know what setups people have done with their corolla's. There is three ways i am thinking of going with this 1. Small scoop on left hand corner of bonnet 2. Same small scoop but instead on the side of left hand fender panel 3. Pod filter underneath headlight as in drill a large hole under where the fuse box is and have the pod through there. Any other idea's?
  4. Would this be the first automatic 4age on rollaclub?
  5. Yeah, its the corolla gearbox. I probably will get rid of it anyway and put my 4ac gearbox on it. The gearbox thats on the 4age is not crash hot, crunches 2nd and sometimes 3rd. The 4ac one had just been serviced and runs fine. I think the 4ac gearbox has a lower ratio so quicker acceleration aswell
  6. Any updates??
  7. Hey, nice 30 you have there. If it was me, i'd chuck a 4age in. There is heaps of people who are doing it to ke70's.
  8. Sweet as, is it still auto? I spent about 33hours just on the back end of my car.
  9. When i picked up the engine, Mick (he's the guy i bought the engine off) was using a wire disk on a drill. it worked a treat so i bought one too to get out the last bits of rust. I then also bought a sander head to do my engine bay, works exactly like a automatic car wash just smaller and a few more scratches. Oh by the way, the 4age engine is originally out of a Aw11 Mr2 and its warm, don't know what has been done to it but it certainly goes good
  10. Well.. umm.. very long! lol. Got on the road at 10am, went through Mansfield on the way there to Albury, easy as. On the way back i went the Hume fwy all the way back to melb which just kept going on and on. Returned the van that i borrowed at 11:30pm sunday night. I thought i would be back home at 8pm :( Oh, and went through 4 full tanks of fuel. Dam mitsashity van, if i pushed it harder than 95km/h it would jump to second and rev its tits off. Thanks :) . I still don't even have primer on my car yet, but yeah guess we'll see. I was hoping to have it on the road by 20th Jan but that looks very unpromising now. If its not i don't care, just want it to look nice. Yes you did tell me that, lol! I am slowly learning. Big help from andrew, he has to show me how to undo the gear shift links, lol. As for other stuff getting done to the car else, just look at my signature. Yeah i got most of the wire looms, wires to ecu, wiring to passenger side kick panel fuse box and complete fuse box in engine bay. Other wires and hoses which i will most likely be asking questions about.. he he I also got oil cooler, drive shafts, gearbox and the ECU. Thanks, :) :D Its not to bad out here tonight, had the gas heater last night, just the bugs were giving me the shits

  16. Does anyone know if there is an ae82 twincam seca around for wrecking? I need rear boot with glass, fuel tank, front struts, front left quater pannel and A pillar internal plastic left side.
  17. Gee's mate, you don't waste any time do you! As you know, I'm doing the 4age convo as well but I was just going to use my single cam speedo, then when I rev it to 7500rpm, people will freak out, he he! You lost me on the speed sensor odometer thing, I understand you want to keep the 211k but what is the speed sensor thing?
  18. Yes sadly> It hurts me to look at my avatar pic, looking so clean and drivable :P
  19. Just had a look now, lucky my car is a rolling shell cos it makes it easy to messure. 121mm - 122mm internal. Not too sure, Its hard to messure cos the shocks are in the way. 145mm External.
  20. Could be methelated spirits.. Not good for acrylic paint :( I remember when i was cleaning my windows with metho and news paper and a couple of drops went on the paint, sort of took away a bit of the colour in the paint. Not sure what you could do, sorry mate. Edit: It seems funny that its on the roof and bonnet, I would have thought if it was anywhere it would be down the sides of the doors :)
  21. Damm! That temp gauge is off the chart totally!! I just pulled out my 4ac today, goes pretty hard for a 4ac. check out my signature I'd sell it to you but i'm in melb so yeah... sorry to hear about the head gasket.
  22. Thats pretty much all its good for now or a monster go-kart.. :)
  23. Nice, looks heaps better now its lower and nice job taking out the orange lens in the rear taillights. Oh and thanks for your help today, :)
  24. I'm still going with the beers and I agree with you, one beer per bolt undone and throw a few more beers in for every time we lift the engine a few more inches.. lol
  25. Ok guys and girls, Big update time.. Been waiting ages to say this, very proud to say the engine is out! Hired the crane, undid the 4 bolts like I said yesterday and came out fairly easily. Thanks to Andrew and Matt for your help :) I'll let the pics to the talking.
