Car is looking awesome moe! :o can't wait to see some new pics.. Hope you don't mind me asking a few questions.. 1. When you took off the front quarter panels, there is some kind of sticky crap in-between the two panels. I scraped it all off. Do I need to put it back on (if so), what do I use to replace it? 2. With your tinted taillights, did that pass road laws? 3. What was the name of that place you got your carpet from? 4. Fuel tank wire loom.. I see there is two plugs. One is in us and i guess it would be for the fuel gadge. Is the other one for electronic fuel pump because it is not in use atm. (Just sits there. Cheers, Johno :y:

Nice k70, can't get over how many miles its done :y: I like the front spoiler, what is it off and where did you get it from?? Not sure if anyone has said this or not but i think it needs to be lowered, lol!

Your not the only one who has said that, two others that have seen the door in the flesh also recon it has a green tinge. I might try and get another colour sample in the beige that is slightly lighter.

This should only be used for a cheap fix. Will last you a good half year if you don't thrash the car or rev it too hard. As i said it used it on my Datsun 200b. I bought the car for 100 bucks, 3 months later head gasket shits its self, poured chemiweld in the cooling system, drove it for another 9 months then got caught doing burnouts from the police and they gave me a cannery so easy come easy go.. I went out this morning and bought 3 different colors to try out on the car. Left one is Platinum metallic pearl, middle one is Ivory from AE82 corolla and right one is Beige. Which one should I choose? I was leaning more toward the beige, will look good with black trim and maybe a black bonnet but let me know your thoughts. Cheers Johno :y:

Tell me about it, I got 4 quotes for my rolla and all were a minimum of $4,500. I'm doing all the prep myself and a guy is spraying it for me in a spray booth and oven. More work done.. The right corner was badly flaking and bog was showing through must have had a bad accident because they have done a whole chop and weld on the back end, thats why you can see blue paint on previous pics. Stripped it back, rust converted and bogged it.

Not too sure yet, i'm paying a guy to spray it for me. I'm just doing all the prep. I could spray it myself and hire the spray booth and oven for $200 per day but i think a pro will do a better job. I used acrylic rattle spray can for the corner, it was really messed up and needed a coat, you can see the blue can inside the rear taillight.

Thanks for the tip :y: , Never wet sanded before.. lol I'm using 2 pac primer. Any other tips, can you let me know. I'm sorta throwing myself in the deepend with this car.. :o

Daily update.. he he Finished the back corner, it had a big dent in the corner and was rusted badly. Sanded the front quater pannel and used quickstop putty, weird shit.. very messy. The only way I could sand it was with 320p wetsand paper.

Yeah, need the crane. Little bit sad pulling out a perfectly good 4ac and gearbox but new engine will be better :y: Sweet!

Yeah, pretty happy with the way its going, Just a smeg load of work. Pulling stuff off, labeling everything, sorting out what screws go where and most importantly... Sanding... Lots and lots of sanding. The paint on the roof and bonnet has oxidized and I was told I have to strip the old paint back to bare metal. Started sanding a little bit on the roof , and the whole roof has little spots of rust everywhere. Still have to do the bonnet. Urrh! Wasn't planning a bare metal respray. I was bored and couldn't help myself... lol Boot is off now and I have almost finished prepping back end and roof, Yay!

I'm keen for a mini cruise/meet. I will be driving my Blue whale as the corolla is off the road and will be for some time, its in about 100 peices getting a 4age bigport engine, new paint, new carpet and stereo. Does it have to be on the thursday night? Its not a huge problem but might have to leave early coz i gotta be up by 6am the next day for work.

Sorry, can't really help you with your dash question. Painting your car has really given me some inspiration to paint my car, started the prep last week.

I was trying to take off my rear boot door. Got all the looms sorted, washers and camera wires. The only thing that is stopping my from taking it off the the gas struts to hold the door up. How do I take them off? I tried to pop it off the ball joint with some force but no good. I don't want to force it too much and break it. Has anyone removed these before?

Got some good news about the paint job. Went to a Auto Paint shop in bayswater to get prices on primer and topcoat. I was thinking which paint to go for.. Acrylic lacquer or 2 PAC :y: The story goes... The guy that owns the shop has a spray booth out the back and a oven. He said if i do all the prep work and masking up he would spray my car with 2 pac and oven baked for 1400 bucks. Plus 2 PAC paint which is about $100 per litre, so all up about $2200 total. Not bad for oven baked 2 PAC full internal-external respray.. :y: The colour i'm going for (Not sure what it is called), I forgot.. lol! It is a BMW colour. Ivory sorta

Yeah all the bumpers will be colour coded, mirrors as well. Not too sure if i should colour code the door handles yet :) If you think those pics were a bit rude, you should see this one.. Oh and Andrew, No credit card required for these pics.. all free my freind,.. lol!

Thanks watty, I worked it out last night. Just started undoing bolts so see what happens and it came off like magic. The reason i was asking was because it just looked too simple. Fords and holdens are such a prick to remove bumpers. I'm only just starting to work out how easy Rolla's are to work on, lol. Here's some progress pics..

Hey Andrew, got some bad news :) I wont be able to bring the corolla on the cruise. Due to current work on the lil beast it wont have doors, lights and bumpers. Could still drive it, talk about weght reduction for the car. Might keep up with a 4age, lol! I'm still dam keen on coming on the cruise but i might have to bring the Blue whale. Unless that is i you got a spare seat in your car for me?

How do i take off the rear bumper? Do i undo the bolts inside the boot that are covered up by plastic covers? EDIT: It is so i can start the prep on the car painting. I know what colour i'm going to paint it now. :) Ivory white!, sorta a light cream colour. Something unique that doesn't look really out there like flouro green. White seca's are too common. Black will show up dents and it will get dirty very easily and scratches will show too. Red is also common but also oxidise's in the sun. I think ivory will go well with black door trims, window tint and black rear plastics. Colour coded mirrors, bumpers and door handles. Guess I'll see when i do it. Question still remains.. How do i remove my rear bumper? Cheers johno :D

No pride in there work at all, I can only guess who the builder is.. I don't think there would be a problem uploading the video as long as you don't mention the builders name or have any referance about them.
