I don't know if this grinds my gears.. More like makes me pissed off to the f**king max!! I would have posted this before but i didnt want to say something i would regret. I calmed down a bit now, a little bit. The girl i really liked slept with my mate. Now i realise she's just a f**king playing bitch. Still don't know how i feel about it. Havent talked to her or my mate since it happend and thats been nearly a month. I'm just as pissed off with my mate coz i had a D&M with him saying how much i liked this girl and he told me i should go out with her. I was about to ask her out then they slept together. Not once.. 5 f@$kING TIMES NOW!!!!!!!!!!! Not cool, specialy from a mate.

Started my boot install today!

Just prep and repaint, nothing flash. Just as long as supermarket dents are fixed and its shiny. I am a painter myself but Car painting is totally different. I know that if i do it wont look very shiny and i'm worried about a silicon reaction happening. It happened b4 when i painted the rear plastic
-
Did you use single or 2 pack undercoat? Did you have much problems with silicon reation under the hood?
-
I been thinking about the paint job for the rolla and i was thinking of paying a pro to paint it. It would look heaps better if they did it and really shiny. I got a few quotes today. Told them i was pulling the engine, gearbox, dash, seats, carpet, all interior plastic out so pretty much a rolling car on a trailer with nothing but doors and windows. How much?? 1st place.... Nah mate, don't want to know about it. Cars too old. 2nd place... Mate, it sounds like you want a full restoration job, not interested, don't do restro's. 3rd place... look, as a rough estimate, between $4000 - $5500 but i don't think its worth doing on a old car like this 4th place... $599 respray, plus this and that, $4965 total, $250 extra if i want metallic. "When can ya bring it in" they said. This pretty much scared the S#*t out of me and i'm not paying 5000 grand for a paint job. Edit : I was hoping it would be about $1500 - $2000 for a paint job :D

Looks like a action shot. Good to see it has reg and on the road now.

Bought some 16mm Mdf panels and 19x42 pine today for my boot install. This is what i'm thinking i might do to my boot.

I have a 2inch exhaust on my 4ac with high flow cat, hotdog and a Turbo muffler. Little bit drony in the car on freeways but a huge power increase. I saw your reg plates and your a victorian. If you live in easturn suburbs go to Ace exhausts in Croydon. I was very happy with their work and good price too.

Looks really good, I'm sure its alot of fun to drive now.

Option 5. Chemi weld, (cost $11) Did the trick for my old datsun 200b and the old girl went for about a year after. :P

It has stock drum brakes on the rear. The work will be done on my car. Andrew is kind enough to help me out :P At the moment my car is completely stock apart from Ae92 brakes on the front which andrew helped me with.

I got a ae82 sohc with 4ac engine. I will soon be upgrading to 4age. I have already upgraded the brakes from a ae94 and before do the engine conversion i want to upgrade my suspension. I got a mate who just bought red koni adjustable shocks and they are friggen awesome now i want some too. I got dohc strut braces waiting to get installed but i need 4 bolt struts. Is there anyway i can put twin can struts in my sohc corolla? Or does anyone have other idea's? I just want the car to be about 1.5 inch lower with harder suspension with tight handing

Took a big trip all the way up to Albury on Sunday (nearly 800kms there and back :P ) Cost me nearly 200 bucks in fuel for the falcon with my heavy right foot.. Checked out the 4age engine, goes nice and i decided I'm going to buy it. The owner has to get his other car on the road before he can pull the 4age out of his seca so I will get my hands on it in about a month or so. can't wait.... he he
-
^ I'll keep that in mind, thanks :hmm: Daily update.. he he The garage is almost done... :sob: Cut the steel bracing to size but couldn't bolt it on because I didn't have the right drill bits. I only got about an hour of light left when I get home after work so progress is very limited.. Lights are now fitted and working wicked.

My thoughts go out to you and your missus, hope all is well. Engine looks really good. If i don't go ahead with the 4age conversion i might paint my 4ac, did you use septone engine enamel?
-
Using acrylic car paint is also quite toxic, you wont need to worry about a full body suit but still need to wear a gas filter face mask otherwise you will be flying high as a kite. Looks like you got everything under control, keep up the great work! :no2: Johno.

Put up the carport/garage. Still working on it, turning it from a portable tent to a semi permanent structure. Cleared a big space and set everything out flat first stage compleate and my rolla fits a treat! Dina-bolted legs down into concrete Walls are all on now, Found some old fluro lights in the shed but some tubes and starters were blown so after about 1 hour hunting around i found (borrowed) some tubes from the main shed, all working now just have to attach them to the roof some how :hmm: I also bought some 20x20x3mm angle steel. I Will be using that to brace the frame but didn't have time to attach that either. At least now I got a garage :) :no2:  Cheers Johno. ;)

Here is a quick video i did this morning of my stock 4ac engine. Only mod is 2" sports exhaust with high flow cat. I will test drive the 4age next week then make up my mind. This 4ac goes pretty good, still chirps second he he... You can still see the hole in the dash where the clock used to be.. lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cm_6zQsZaOI

With the gen 1 4age blue top it says 96kw. Is that a missprint cos I heard that they are 86kw Also, what car has the 4agze in it factory?
-
Thanks Jake, this does help a bit :'( I will be definitely be considering this engine conversion. Just bought a portable car port/garage today. :jamie: So sick of this melbourne weather, can't do anything because it's too cold, wet or dark. Now I'm out of the wind, rain and i can attach lights inside and spent a bit more time on it after work. Will be good when I am doing the paint job on the car and possibly engine conversion.. ;)

I (might) be buying a 4age engine.. Not too sure yet. I will be getting my falcon back in the next couple of weeks so I can afford to take the rolla off the road for a while and start the prep work on the body ready for painting and maybe a 4age engine conversion. Gotta do a little more research on the conversion first, Do I need to change engine mounts? Will it fit my gear box? How much of a pain in the ass is it to do? Is it worth it? Vic roads Legal crap? These are all things I need to think about first.. As the car runs now with a stock 4ac it goes pretty good, never driven a 4age before let alone been for a ride in one so gotta see how good they are before I do anything. Cheers, Johno
