  6. There's no such thing as a non-expensive part on a Chaser
  7. +1 Need some Dodgem Footage.
  8. Bmxsexmonkey is selling the tailhousing and shifter from a KE55 5speed. The KE55 tailhousing is a bolt on affair to a KE70 5speed and means its a bolt in job for a KE30.
  9. a KE55 5spd will be a bolt in afair to a KE30. a KE70 5spd requires the shifter hole to be cut about 90mm further back. Also need to have the KE70 gearbox mount and crossmember. You said that you have to adjust the crossmember in the first car (previously auto) Auto chassis have a different bolting arrangement and the crossmember is further back than the manual chassis
  10. Usually a T series
  11. I don't see how "heavy duty" they could be, not much room for improvement on the Jap ones.
  12. Snapped 2 spigots off the cross again, tailshaft hit the ground. Lucky it was only doing like 10km/h in a carpark.
  13. Thanks for the offer mate. Big thanks to all that pulled over (Mick, Darren, Alan, Hendo, Hugh)
  14. I replaced them myself. Followed the directions of a qualified mechanic of 20+ years.
  15. The ballast resistor is there to limit current draw thru the point. To stop them arcing and killing themselves. Non-electronic coils are just made to cope with the lower voltage they receive as a signal. The start circuit bypasses the resistor to give the coil a full 12v to aid start up. As soon as the key flicks back to the ignition circuit, voltage is dropped back thru the resistor. No point changing to an electronic dizzy, then leaving a coil that operates at 8v. Thats the whole point of going to electronic ignition systems. MORE power to the coil = MORE spark power.
  16. Went to pull over, slowed down, got on the grass and it locked up. Pretty much just along for the ride after that. Hugh88kw pulled me out with his XR6 ute, Me reversing and the front getting pushed by Mick and Alan.
  17. Took the wagon for a wash tonight. Returned home on a tow truck. 2nd Universal in 6days. :bash:
  18. Lookin good! Try putting a jack and a piece of wood under the fuel tank. Should pop right back into shape.
  19. I think i can say, once your sliding on grass, there's not much you can do to control it.
  20. Sounds like it might be running lean. Is it running hotter than usual?
  21. If you need a hand, let me know.
