    Spotted

Spotted a KE38 wagon in Morphett vale today. Never seen it around. Creamy coloured and on 15/16" in wheels. Looked to be in great condition too.
  3. Its due to the MSD itself needing so little power to trigger it, current travels thru the charge light/ignition circuit. This keeps the ignition module thinking the key's still in the ignition, and hence keep suppying pulses to the coil.
  4. And what's thad SLW? The Diode?
  5. Well. After scoping around JNC, i had been convinced to install the MSD finally. Started on it tonight about 8:30- 9pm and had it up and running well by 10:30 :o Got the mounting taken care of straight away. Against the left hand side of the bay. Between the coil and headlight. Quite happy. Routed and connected the coil output wiring. Dummy connected the MSD coil and power input, then fired it up to make sure it was gonna run. And it did! So i then terminalled the factory wiring and pluged it all in. Ran the Power cables. Loom tube'd and tidied everything up. (Space saved for pics) Fired it up again and took it for a bit of a drive up the road. It was a fair whack smoother in the lower rpm than before. Went to shut it off and the sucker kept running  Googled my exact problem and found it to be the charge light wire now requires a diode in it to prevent current running thru that and keeping it running. Very happy chappy tonight!
  6. Might be better off running the intake thru the inner guard as per factory?. Albeit thru a larger hole. Still getting air that hasnt been heated in the engine bay and is fairly well protected from the ram effect and differences in wind direction.
  7. Just a good scenic drive, few twisties etc. keeps everyone happy  Did the whole day on under $30 fuel. Even that was with it running rich as all hell.
  8. Sounds like not enough fuel pressure, got a guage on the reg?
  9. Yea, not too bad. Just wanna get the weber on at this point. Still having problems with the mixture screw winding itself out :bash: Once thats on I might do what Altezzaclub's done and chuck a O2 sensor in the extractors and see if we can get at least the carb tuned. That and get a proper exhaust on it. Stock exhaust systems been cut and shut at least 4 times..
  10. Cheers mate. Where did you see it? Was parked out front of the Deli for a while. Yea, 1/4 needs respraying. hopefully do it soon :)
  11. Looks like it faired pretty well for being flipped twice.
  12. I know for sure that most of the Early KE30's have one of their heater hoses coming off there. 3K bigports have a welsh plug there. I actually snapped the exact same bolt trying to take the plate off to replace the gasket. So your definatly not alone haha. EDIT: I'd get it welded up. Saves any possible issues in the future.

Spotted Sammy and his FXGT again at UPI.
  14. Happy Birthday Mate.
  15. Ooooooohhhhhh helll yeah!
  16. Looks like a good base there! Do i spy a hydraulic clutch setup there too?
  17. Ah yea. Funny, i've only ever encountered this certain type on KE30/55 5spds...
  18. Not all of them have that style of end of them Jono.
  19. TKY-6036HD was the P/N of the Exedy Clutch i had in my KE30. Awesome Clutch. TKY-6036HDB is the button clutch variant. Assuming your running a 4K flywheel (180mm)
  20. If the old gearbox is taken straight out, the 5speed should slide right on in. Unless your changing the clutch aswell.
  21. 5K? Woohoo. Moar Skids.
  22. Any reputable workshop should be able to helicoil it. Take the Whole lot to a Radiator or TIG workshop and get the plate deleted altogether. Alloy plate welded in place. Should be able to do it all with the head still on.
  23. Yea, not too bad. Have an issue with the LH side that I'm gonna have to look into. I really should get these XT130 stuts with MX62 and RA60 brakes done. :hmm:
  24. Did the front pads Thursday night, cheers to Mick for supplying the parts. Still gotta put a thermostat in it yet, hopefully tomorrow. Took a friend for a ride in it last night and her reaction was unexpectedly good. Was amazed with how well it went for what it is. I'm happy with that, seeing as she drives a 300hp 347 stroker AU ute. :D
  25. Go for an unsprung brass button behind a stock 4k. Would be.......interesting. Either the friction or pressure plate could be buggered :hmm: Replace the lot. Just have a real good inspection of the flywheel too, depending on whats actually causing the problems.
