  1. I'm gonna stick with my original shifter position as I have monkey arms and its easy for me to reach for the gears. Thats when I get a chance/some help to fit it all up :P
  2. I have a new MSN addy, but I'm not going to put it up in here due to certain people possibly adding me. So if any one here would like it, PM me and I'll pass it on....
  3. 86 struts are the same diameter and bolt spacing as RA40 on the bottom of the strut as far as I know....
  4. The guy who wrote the book Stormboy (later became a movie) in the 80's, he also passed away this week, Colin Thiele is his name....
  5. So I went around and got prices for the Noltec Coilover Sleeve Kit. Revolution Racegear - $350 SA Suspension - $460 but he dropped to $350 Pedders - $460, wouldnt budge on the price ABS (Auto Brake Service) - $287 Trade. So Guess who's getting a coilover sleeve kit next Tuesday? :y: I also get the rims on Monday and will also have to get some strut inserts too for my struts and get the discs machined. I should be able to stop pretty well soon enough :P
  6. Wtf? That definately is a sad story and a sad day :P First Steve Irwin and now this?? I'm pretty much speechless....
  7. Ahhh yep. I was talkin to Ryan. :P Was with a mate who owns a black silvia. That things good for drifting when its not defected and its sitting pretty slammed with decent suspension :y:
  8. Welcome Danny. If you feel like catching up at the Freedom Carpark in town this Friday Night for some in-the-hills activities, I should be down there from 8.30pm-9pm onwards ;) Generally leave about 9.30pm-10pm.
  9. I'm going for the coil-over conversion. RA40 struts, pillow-ball bearings, camber plate, top-hat etc etc. I might bite the bullet and go for the Noltec Kit yet....
  10. I'm in Salisbury East :y: I was crossing over from Park Terrace to Smith Road when I saw you turning right from Main North onto Park Terrace one day. The moon discs are what caught my attention :y:
  11. New wheels are coming on Monday or Tuesday ;) Gonna slap those Bathurst Globes from Trendact that I'm getting on there once I've cleaned 'em up :y:
  12. I went and spoke to my neighbour today about borrowing his vernier calipers as I needed to measure the outside diameter of the RA40 celica strut, and to my suprise, it has a 51mm OD. So now I need to source some threaded sleeves with an ID of 51mm so it fits nice n snug ;)
  13. www.google.com.au use it.
  14. So I started dismantling my RA40 celica struts today, with the intention of turning them into adjustable coil-overs for the coupe. All that is left to do on them now is drain the oil from the strut (its a wet strut system) and insert new cartridges. To get things done on the cheap side, I'll be getting my awesome neighbour that lives next door to me, to make me up the adjustable sleeves. I'll also be getting him to make me some adjustable camber tops too. The next upgrade once this is all done is to get those elusive KE30 axles, shorten them 5mm each side and do my rear brake upgrade with KE55 drums for now. So a 4 x 114.3 stud pattern is on the cards ;)
  15. Hey Toda30/4, thats your car hey? I've seen you putting around ;)
  16. too hektik for your undies uleh!
  17. I know this applies to this certain rim that this guy is restoring, but it can be applied to every other rim and i think its worth a shot. Polishing Rims

    Can't say i've seen it.
  19. Oh i've seen uncontained too. Rattle, rattle, rattle - piston through one side of the block, conrod through the other. It died a nasty death. Nice SR20DET it WAS. I guess the $16,500 engine rebuild to make it nice and bullet-proof was worth it. Hasnt had a problem since! ;)
  20. SR20DE's fail. My mate, constantly drifting and sitting on the rev limiter, managed to kill two of his lifters (inlet cam, piston's 3 & 4) which then chewed away the cam shaft. He changed the lifters and the timing dropped. Guess what happened when he started it.....
  21. I've seen a few pop up for sale lately. best bet is if you really wanted one, would be to find one in new zealand.
  22. 4K-E was an EFI version of the 4K-C. Research it ;)
  23. RA40 celica struts bolt into a KE30/55 Could possibly do that to KE20/25 too, but I'm not sure about obtaining any negative camber with such a large spring diameter. You'd wanna go coil-over conversion to get negative camber though.
  24. Has anyone done it? What steering rack did you use, how did you counter bump steer if any etc etc. Would love to do this mod sooner rather than later ;)

I'd been driving since I was 13, took to the hills for 2 years with my old man when i was 14. I got my L's at 16.5 years of age, did my logbook while on my P's when I was 17 (10 things marked off in the first lesson) and 6 lessons in total to obtain my full licence at 19 years of age. Never once have I had an accident that involved another car, but gutters and general stupid behaviour is the cause of some minor damage to my cars I've had in the past. Sometimes, its not your own driving ability you have to worry about, its the other people on the road.
