Ke55 Axles In Ke20 Diff
*points up* What he said. Also, with a Jap diff, the centre unbolts from the front side of the diff. The borg warners unbolt from the back and as Irokin said, they have a backing plate. Jap diffs are better because you can swap a complete centre over without having to unbolt the crown wheel from the diff centre itself to keep the gear ratio's the same. Its just a matter of pulling out the old stuffed centre and bolting in the another one, providing you've removed the axles first of course. :(

Ke55 Axles In Ke20 Diff
Nope. You want KE30 Jap axles in a KE20 diff and then you'll have to shorten the axles 5mm each side if you want them to come out later on.

Raven's Ke25 Corolla Memorial Rebuild - Now Parting Out
Update time! I scored a set of 4 Nissan Bluebird stocky rims in 14 inch size for my coupe so I can do my brake upgrade when I finally get enough money together to sort that out. My nickname display plate arrived too which you'll see in the pics below so those of you who think they see me getting around, check for the plate or placement of stickers on my car. I quickly detailed my car on the outside today but have misplaced my chamois (damn it!). So this is the current condition of the car. I'll probably get the primer patches fixed up and roughly blended soon as well. Cheers Mick

Infms Car Club
Yep. Thats the only downside I think. My input would be this: Organise a time for everyone to arrive and organise a time for departure. Whoever doesnt show up, we leave without 'em. OR They meet up at the next regrouping point. Makes for a solidly organised cruise that way. It was good to see everyone behaving for once. My other suggestion is if people get caught at lights, the lead car should pull over with everyone else and wait till the lights change green and regroup that way. It works well like that. Overall, the route was good. Would love to see more hills driving involved as well, maybe even head down south or if you could even be bothered, go to the extent of a victor harbour cruise during the day and a barbie at lunch time. Gets everyone talking to each other that way too :P Hope thats good input Leeroy!

Your Thoughts On Rims
Well, I have 13" Globes up for sale. They're not going to fit my car no matter what but I don't see what's wrong with getting Globes? They'll look sweet on my Panel-van if no-one ends up buying them soon and I do think they would suit the age of the car no worries. Putting brand new rims on an older vehicle that doesnt suit that era looks kinda ridiculous in my opinion.

Restoring Hotwires
I think he means he has some sort of polishing/wool pad for his drill... yes/no casey?

Gearbox Swap
Yes , its still a K50, but there were two different ones. The KE55 one had a shorter shifter position to the KE70 one which had a longer shifter position and sat further back. So my guess is you have a KE55 one which WILL require you to cut a hole in the floor.

Snapped Clutch Cable
Go to U-Pull-It and grab a cable. The cable's are a piece of piss to replace so remove the clip holding the cable in under the bonnet and get your arse up under the dash and unhook the cable :D

Restoring Hotwires
100 bucks for the set is pretty good. Can't complain with that. Just a pity you can't use them on your car :D

Restoring Hotwires

Restoring Hotwires

Just Something I Found
It needs bumpers moulded into the bodywork for that to look half decent and those rims are just shitful. Ether you go to the trouble to put big rims on it like should have and finish off the bumpers or don't do it at all.
-
Restoring Hotwires
Paint strip 'em, polish 'em, clear coat it to keep a nice finish if you decide to polish them, otherwise paint the centre's (what I'm gonna do on my globes), polish the outer lip. :D

Gearbox Swap
Actually, the KE55 gearbox has a different shifter location to the KE70 gearbox anyway. So if you want to keep your original shifter position, I would recommend you get KE70 5 speed, otherwise you're going to definately have to cut a new hole for your shifter.

Raven's Ke25 Corolla Memorial Rebuild - Now Parting Out
Been there, tried that. It's going to take way too much off the caliper and compromise its structural integrity to resort to filing/dremel/grinding the caliper down.

Ke20 / Ke25 Swaybar Upgrade
Yep. I could measure it up. I'll do it tomorrow. Pretty sure the 30 is wider than the 25. You may get away with heating a 30 swaybar and bending it in to fit on each end.

With a Starfire Motor in it? ;)

Ke20 / Ke25 Swaybar Upgrade
I was told of a mod to do by a friend of mine but I'm not sure if it'll work well yet as I havent tried it yet. Basically, find another stock swaybar (or use one of the ones you have there) cut both ends off so its like a straight stick and u-bolt it to your stock swaybar (make sure you go through the swaybar holes in the mounts. A u-bolt either end and two in between those and evenly space them. Apparently its supposed to stiffen up the front end a fair bit. Something to think about anyway ;)
