  1. I'm gunna go now.. I really don't know anything more to say on this topic, i'll have another look tomorrow morning, and hopefully I will learn valuable knowledge... I havent meant to argue with anyone in this topic, thinking about it... just trying to look at everything from every angle. Have a good one!
  2. Taken from another discussion. This is essentially what I have been trying to say. The plane won't gather enough speed to take off, which was the original question.
  3. I, being scientifically illiterate, take from the link that you have gave me, this thread and my thoughts, would believe the effect to be that similar of a car on a dyno. I do understand that cars and planes use completely different acceleration methods etc. however the basic idea is still there. I just thought of another example, which I havent really thought about much.. so I may look back on it later and think i'm a complete idiot; If a plane that was going say 300km/h, into a 300km/h wind (headfirst), would it lift off? This could be a stupid example.
  4. However I can see a reason why it WOULD take off. When a plane stops when it touches down on a runway, it uses its jets to scrub off its speed, by operating them in the reverse motion. From what I can see, as James said, the wheels would be simply there for the 'free ride'. So, perhaps a plane could take off. BUT, I have looked at this from my original idea. The conveyor belt would simueltaneously speed up with the aeroplane, yes? Therefore, when the thrust becomes great enough for the aeroplane to take off, the wheels in the reverse motion will simply scrub off the speed. This has got me puzzled, theres reasons why it SHOULD or SHOULDN'T take off. Bring on mythbusters..
  5. But if you look at it from the example that I had brung up, with a jet/plane/aircraft with ANY type of flying mechanism, being on the ground with no wheels or skids, would it generate enough thrust to actually move? I think not. So, essentially, if my theory is correct, the wheels ARE an integral part of the planes flying mechanism. The thrust directs its energy to the wheels, indirectly, so that the plane can move...
  6. The wheels simply are a load bearing device that provides a slippery surface (bearings, I know that this is a bad explanation) for the thrust to use its potential energy. Therefore, when the thrust directs its potential energy to the wheels, the conveyor belt cancels out that potential energy. I hope this is right lol... Everyones disappeared...
  7. The way I see it, is this; If you had a plane, on its belly, no wheels or nothing, and you fired up the engines, would it move? I doubt it. So, for every bit of forward movement that the plane generates through its thrust, will essentially be scrubbed off by the identical speeds of the conveyor belt going in the opposite direction, therefore creating no lift by the wings, therfore no flight. Now this is probably wrong, i'm absolutely shithouse at science etc. I hope I havent said the same thing as Redwarf, I know that he is posting at the moment....
  8. I agree, the PDF would be bloody helpful to those building a ke70! Go for the PDF! Nice job so far!!!!
  9. The man has spoken.
  10. Haha, yeah he can go for it, if he wants to.. haha! Cheers heaps Xany.. your a bloody legend!
  11. Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. It shits you when someone is so ignorant to a situation. Kerbing is the shit!
  12. Phew, that was close... your gf would have got a bit of a shock!
  13. Nice! What do they look like from outside the car? Would look pretty hot i reckon!
  14. Great night.. not often i stay up to 3 (AEST) in the morning spamming.. haha Good one Xany..
  15. home grown f@$kups.. i agree.
  16. Do a new poll, Tiger, this one got really, really cluttered because everyone thinks everything is the shit/is shit... Or just go ahead and do what you think is best; f@$k everyone else :D... haha
  17. I know of black engine bays that were painted with pressure pack, they seem to have lasted the distance... Whats it worth for this engine paint that people have mentioned in the thread, i've heard of it but have no idea of what it costs. Any help would be appreciated!
  18. Hey that reminds me of a time when i was out riding on the dirt bike, i was fairly flogging it in about 5th gear powerband through 2-3 ft grass, all of a sudden a old pig trough was in front of me, so i automatically tried popping the clutch, instead making me more unstable because it bogged down, i hit it full force, it bent my forks, f@$ked my front rim, and my back, 'might' have bent the dropouts (never looked properly, wanted to forget about it)... was so sore by the end of it.. i'll tell you, that bloody thing hurt. I was so lucky i didnt hurt myself badly.. concrete blocks suck! Anyone else had experiences like that on a dirt bike.. hang on, does anyone ride?
  19. Stockies, like what cop cars run. Also alot of young blokes in commo's run them...
  20. Oh ok.. where could you get pursuite style wheels to suit a KE55 then, because they didnt come out with those style wheels from the factory... i'm after a set.
  21. Shit that'd go like the clappers! I found a site that sells in UK on ebay, they have heaps of cars, like Silvia's and 4WD's and shit, there was AE82's, lots and lots of them (kit form)! My next question is; Where do I get things like rims and that, because the ones that come with them stock look like shit most of the time, and I like my things to be modified/custom! Cheers!
  22. I disagree with those who say tri-spokes are shit, and/or they only suit VN's and AE82's.. I find that the bubbly ones that Jamie referred to look quite good on a AE92. That KE in the pic with tri-spokes looks bloody horn.. end of story!
  23. Yeah I agree with Rolla Boy, the TRX ones look better! And you definetly have to go matt black man! On a side note, is it possible to fit 2004 (ZZE122R) rims onto early corollas? Sorry to cut into someone elses thread!
  24. Well since I havent got enough money to build REAL cars yet, at the moment i'm getting into building model cars. I want to make a KE55 model but I have looked every where for a kit, but to no avail... Has anyone bought/known of where to get a KE55 model? Cheers, Dan.
  25. Damn, Rollaclub has some LUCKY members!
