  1. The lump, lump idle often depends partly on things other than cam specs. Carby size and type often depends on what sort of idle you will get with the new cam. i have found Su's are the main candidate for the 'rotary' type idle.
  2. I would avoid the nissan engines for a ke10, a too small of a car for a ca or sr. would probably go the 4agze + turbo. The 4a is physically a much smaller motor. As for the ke2x, go the ca18det, as the sr20det cannot be engineer approved, its just a bit too light.
  3. depends what you want the car to do best. 15" are ideal for handling.
  4. don't forget the all toyota day too!
  5. I went to the classic jap car show last year, it was awesome! very high quality. I hope they are combined........but then it wouldnt be an all toyota day would it......... Still, i can't wait for both events.
  6. Wow, i haven't seen this one before, very nice. Well done, looks quality, and the wheels look great IMO. :)
  7. 17 x 7 have been done several times to this model of car. Make sure the offset is correct, between +25 and +15 is correct for ke30/55, ke70 should be same, but ive never tried it. Tyre size should be 205/40/17. Good luck :)
  8. I love it, looks quality all the way!
  9. Welcome to rollaclub! This conversion has been done quite few times, so have a look around with the search function, you will find it has mostly been done to a ke30/55, but same old. The gearstick hole will pretty much fit, with a tiny trim to the back edge. You will need custom gearbox and engine mounts. You will need to convert to a hydrolic clutch too, which is probably the biggest hassel. Use a ta22 clutch master cyl. Cheers
  10. Yes you can remove it, although it would worry me having a direct fuel vent to the atmosphere, maybe work out a system that would prevent kaboom. The ke25 only has a vent to the atmosphere from factory, they run an 8mm line all the way to the front of the vehicle, and just finish the pipe inside the chassis rail. I guess this was before charcoal canisters were invented. Maybe try that with the ke55?
  11. This thing was crazy, it actually looks a bit more sleeper in real life which is cool. I should be able to help with footage, my brother has a fair bit i think...
  12. I have thoroughly researched this as i temporarily lost mine during the strip down. They told me that if i have a rego form of proof that the car has been regoed before, i could get a rwc and re-rego without any hassels. They said the problem would come when i tried to sell it, pretty much-they said i couldn't. This is in QLD. Cheers
  13. Awesome job man, its good to see years of persistence paying off. Its also good to see rust removal done properly. It seems to be a rarity these days. can't wait to see 2008 pics :eatlead:
  14. mmmmm horsepower. Keep us informed!
  15. Extremely cool looking car! awesome the rims, awesome colour, very well built!
  16. I don't consider 2" of blocks to be dodgy? In QLD lowering blocks are legal up to 50mm, are you sure they are not legal there? i would certainly be leaving that there over flipping leaves, as this does bad stuff for your suspension.
  17. Pretty cool cars hey, real neat. These cars and their owners are on 'performance forums' in the race car sections. I got a free issue with mine number 125, has a pretty cool ke3* coupe in it as well. score!
  18. An standard sr20 can reliably make 300rwhp every day of the week, a ca18 can't. just add gt28rs with .63 rear housing and you have so much response there is no lag to speak of. As for easier fit, they are both identical to fit pretty much. May as well do it right the first time. :P: running a 10 sec quarter mile in a rotary is like coming out of the closet, it feels good, but at the end of the day you're still gay.
  19. A botched up dodgy bog-in-rust respray will cost $1500 minimum, a decent job $5000+
  20. Yep, fibreglass, both surfaces would have to be bare as well, bare metal, and bare fibreglass flare. You can then use bog over the fibreglass for straightening work. If youve never done bodywork before just bolt them on, this would be VERY difficult to get right.
  21. Yeh, my bad, should have read a bit closer :) Of your two options though, i personally am not a rotary man.
  22. I will be there o saturday and sunday, not with my car this year though :( My plane gets in from holidays at 11:00 on saturday, so i have arranged for my girlfriend to pickup me and the boys and take us straight there  :) :)
  23. This has been discussed in the original thread, there were two braces/brackets.
  24. In most states I'm pretty sure the 13b is not legal with a turbo in a ke70.
  25. Replica panels are readily available, i use a place called ATI here on the sunshine coast, from memory the guards were around 100 each, the lower apron 45 ish, and the bonnet was $200. I have had the bonnet on for a year or so, it fitted fine. I am yet to fit the guards as i have to put the doors back on first :bash: If you keep an eye on my build thread you will see how i went fitting them, off to bali for a month though so wont happen till september :y:
