  1. It could be a number of problems. 1. Timing. 2. Carby tuning. 3. Motor needing rebuild/fixing 4. Filters. 5. Something else! I suggest you take it to someone with experience with these sort of motors/problems and/or a mechanic and get them to give it a diagnosis. ps. Fuel shouldn't be running through the gasket on the rear 2 cylinders..... Replace!
  2. And that's why one-owner, full service-history granny/pa cars are "worth" so much and sought after :) Also choose which one you LIKE the most. Good luck and hope to see a project thread!
  3. Getting a replacement gearbox would be the way to go. You could upgrade to a 5spd while doing so! If you can do the work yourself (and/or get some mates to help) you'd be looking at $100-$300 for a second hand gearbox plus a good, fun days work! Good luck.
  4. I think I'm gonna check this place out. :y:
  5. I got AusPost to send my (tyreless) 14x7 rims from Port Macquarie to Canberra for $14.85 each! I must admit that's a very reasonable price from Transdirect!
  6. Argh hehe. Well done. How much did you get it for? I've been on the lookout for a cheap one for my KE70 for ages. Looks like the MIN i'll pay on net is $60 + postage. I may have to check Jap Parts out!
  7. Politicians are dipshits. :P   :) :bash: :bash:
  8. Looks really clean! Please tell me you kept the pepperpot (sigma) rims :P
  9. Yep, your KE55 is 4x114.3 PCD, where your other Rolla (all FWD Rolla's) is 4x100 PCD stud pattern.
  10. How about a mix of both layouts? First 6 months we could have the generation of Corolla's and the last of it could be of the states. I like how all of the FWD Rolla's are in the last 2 months as they are a little less popular on the site so they should fill up quite well. ---First Six Months--- Jan = KE1x Feb = KE2x Mar = KE3x/5x Apr = KE7/AE7x (and AE86) May = AE8/9x Jun = AE1x/ZZE ---Second Six Months--- Jul = Western Australia Aug = Victoria Sep = South Australia Oct = Tasmania Nov = NSW/ACT Dec = Queensland Seems like a good calendar filler to me.
  11. Needs hotwires all round. Mine does! They look awesome on white cars
  12. Hey everyone! I've got two KE20 shells that no one wants to buy and I'm going to cut em up cos they're quite rust-free, My question is what's the best bits to cut out and why? How to cut em out etc. was wondering if anyone could post up pics of a cut-out rear quarters etc. or a quick "outline" of where to cut as I don't want to cut out too much or too little. What other bits apart from rear quarters and perhaps sills are there I should cut out? If you haven't got a pic of your cut out bits, a quick drawing on a pic of a car of where I need to cut will do. Plus, if you're quick and you want a decent shell send me a PM or check out my topics. Thanks in advance, Vince!
  13. KE26 is overrated! Shame to hear that the KE20 got written off.
  14. Does a brick say anything here?
  15. It's been covered in the FAQ what's best for a K motor! Just search around. You'll find a weber for less than $100 anyway. Just have to look in the right places. Carburettors
  16. Have you got an ETA for rego? Looks like it's coming along nicely. It's fantastic to have a rust-free car
  17. A hot dog is a resonator... you want a sports (straight-thru) muffler. Can buy them at any exhaust shop. Make sure you buy one for the right size pipe!
  18. This is a discussion thread, not a teasing thread Mr Evan! We've all asked our fair share of silly questions, but it's no excuse to laugh at someone. If you don't have anything helpful to say you probably shouldn't say anything at all!
  19. Will possibly be selling my KE36 as funds don't permit to do anything with it and it's only sitting in my driveway. Would make for an awesome daily or project but I haven't got the time or money to. Has healthy 4k engine, 3k head, 4spd very clean interior, exterior is a little rough. Looking for $650 or best offer. GALLERY
  20. I just noticed the "grandprixcarting" in your sig, sammo.. Do you work there? Canberra RollaClub meet much!!!! EDIT: grandprixKarting
  21. That photoshop makes the car look like it's got something angry hiding under the bonnet (and also looks awesome) Good luck with the restoration. Will try keep an eye on it!
  22. Nice! Needs chrome bars and dished rims  Hahaa.. Sorry to be nagging like the others, but do you have any engine bay pics? I'd like to see more of the interior also!
  23. (To the best of my knowledge) without any modifications you will not be able to fit it. They are a completely different front end. I had a KE20 grille once and put it up to my KE36 and thought it would look awesome too so you're in the same boat as me :sob:
  24. I have two straight, rust-free KE20 shells for sale. You really should look at a repair! Such a waste if you don't.
  25. Well.. heh. Motor didn't end up going in as I was convinced to go through the suffering of putting it in my daily KE70. Probably worth it as I wouldn't get to drive the purple car for a while. Anyway, it might be leaving! It's a good thing as it only sat in my driveway getting weathered on.
