  1. Neither are OEM equipment.
  2. I was thinking more Audi Quattro style.... Weight distributions about the same too :lolcry:
  3. Ah yea my bad thinking of a different setup. The bearing should be pressed onto the carrier. I'd say yours is worn out or the incorrect type.
  4. Moved to General Mechanical 1) no 2) two wire clips holds it to the bearing carrier 3) take the rocker cover off, take the dizzy cap off and turn the motor over by hand. Should be pretty obvious when the timings right. 4) neutral? doesn't really matter just hook up your reverse lights and all's well.
  5. Please understand these important rules before posting in the General Mechanical section. ONE SPECIFIC* QUESTION AT A TIME If you are a newbie, INTRODUCE YOURSELF FIRST. This will make a BIG difference to the quality of responses you will get. Tell us what kind of car you have and what modifications you have made so far. Check the FAQ/Knowledge Base for an answer to your question first. Google/Search forums first. Please also remember : Spelling and Etiquette Illegible posts usually result in no or poor quality answers. Please take the time to type a QUALITY post if you expect QUALITY answers! You will also likely bring the wrath of moderators if your posts are frequently illegible. * Specific means the *opposite* of "how do i fit a twincam engine in my car please tell me everything I need to do because I am too lazy to work it out for myself"
  6. Or better yet I can tell you how to home brew a nitrous oxide kit :lolcry:
  7. And then sap it all away through the alternator. In fact I'd bet you'd end up going backwards in power.
  8. I'm assuming he means tail lights?
  9. You don't stockpile fuel, you stockpile crude oil. There isn't an oil shortage currently (have you stopped to a servo that doesn't have any fuel?). The problem is people trading on the futures market. The media makes up some story and the futures trade accordingly. Surprisingly it isn't supply and demand dictating the price currently. And the fuel excise... Do you think its cheap to build a road and then maintain it? Or would you prefer cheap fuel and dirt highways everywhere? Honestly people, do you think the excise is going into someones back pocket? And what happens if you suddenly drop 50c/litre off the fuel price? Now inflation is out of control again and the money has to be taken out of the economy via interest rates again. So even if they did by some miracle drop the fuel excise, like it or not, you're still going to be out of pocket somewhere else. Personally I think rising fuel prices are the best thing that could have happened to this world.
  10. So is this a scan of a published book (i.e. pirated and about to be deleted by myself), freely distributed under GPL or your own work?
  11. Gimme a price without the engine or gearbox :D.
  12. By using the age old method of rusting...
  13. Trade tools compressor. Will last forever and cost sweet bugger all compared to other brands.
  14. I think you pretty much answered your own question.
  15. Have a look at what the puerto ricans are doing with side draft carbys. They'd be running a helluva lot more boost that an SC14 ever will be.
  16. Same goes for every strut from KE20->KE70. Unsure about KE1x.
  17. I can understand that, what a prick! I'm not sure what the FIA would say about it either...
  18. As far as I'm concerned they only ever came with a 19 spline input shaft. The reason ripco etc list a 21 spline gearbox is for the T50.
  19. Gets really homo when you need to get the full homologation document from the FIA :) Something like $50+ each and a rather lengthy wait while some cheese eating surrender monkey figures out how to fax a copy.
  20. Coolant only has a lifetime of 2-3 years anyway so you'd hope they'd replace it around the time the warranty period ended. If they're rusting after 10 years its due to the fact the coolant is WAY beyond its useful lifespan. I'd suggest the colour of the coolant has little to do with its effectiveness.
  21. I got sick of scrolling back and forth through the FIA document so I decided to compile them all in one place: http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Homologations The list should be exhaustive.
  22. Overlap is when both valves are (partially) open.
  23. The cutting large parts of the floor pan is going to affect the chassis' strength being a monocoque. If the car had a full chassis then theres no reason you couldn't, pending class regs.
  24. Have you got the wastegate hooked up? 20psi at part throttle sounds rather obscene to say the least! Sounds like its free boosting and running lean and/or blowing out the spark at the same time like Des said. The backfiring definitely sounds like a lean mixture to me.
