% is not about quantity, but ratio. The same goes for fuel and air. Economy to Power Fuel to Air Ratio is 14.7:1 for a general water cooled internal combustion engine. If you wanted power over economy, you would be aiming towards 12.5:1. That being 12.5 parts of air, for every 1 part of fuel. The lower that number (12.5) the richer the mix - ie. The more fuel there is to 1 part air. The higher the number (about eg. 12+) the leaner the mix - less fuel for 1 part air. Keeping this ratio correct is critical for how the motor runs. There are numerous factors to this. I could ramble on for days. Injecting silly amounts of air into the combustion chamber, on any motor would have horrific effects. Sure you could come back and say i have figured out a way to add the correct amount of fuel to this system, provided that you were able to strictly regulate the amount of air going into the motor under all conditions from a primitive backyard-invention. Problem now goes from the incorrect air:fuel ratio, to internal strength. a 4k motor is strong. But its not strong under boost, let alone enough to cut steel in half. I think you need to keep the compressor strictly for work purposes

I don't think the pictures do the car justice. From real life, the car looks like a overrated original-old school cruiser. whilst i think the front wheels stand out a little like dogs balls (lol), the rest of the car you could eat off. Keep at it, someone else would be enjoying your pride and joy otherwise !

Personally, i would be checking the straitness of the head top and the rocker cover. Then, i would be checking to see if both of the 2 studs that are in the head that hold the rocker cover on are not starting to thread-out; resulting in when the nuts are done up tight , that they are not bottoming out / run out of thread - and not tightening up at all. If Both surfaces are straight & CLEAN, the gasket is in good condition and the torque applied to the cover is sufficient & even, then there should not be any issues :)
