  1. Nae Sorry :) Well, just waiting for the storms this week to bugger off, so i can get a few more things done on the ol-girl. It would be nice to see it on the road, one-day ! Aie...
  2. I think a BIG club thankyou is in order to John for doing the trip, and the BBQ. Was Really well done :)
  3. Epic Day. Trip was awesome, really good to get out and meet you guys. 2:30 pm - Little R.S Starts his corolla, the rattle noise that was getting worse all day, now sounded horrid. Fears - bottom end knock. I see the pully on the front of the crankshaft wobbling around, to the point where i was amazed that i had not fallen off. Long story short. Long story short, Key-way had worn it self out, to the point where it had self-machined it self out 1/4 around the inside shaft. See pic(s) in next post. 2:45 pm - Set off with jason in the volvo to find washers to space out crank nut, to give more pressure onto pully. Drove 15 kms up road, couldnt find any automotive places, asked at a pharmacy for directions to a car shop. Told there was one in town, were we had just come from. Back in OV, back into town. Spotted a VN commodore wrecked on the front lawn of some blokes yard.. was going to be a last resort to raid his car (lol). I spotted a construction site on the side of the road; we were gona attempt to find some washers from the vertical wall-polls, but the place was too secure. On the way out, spotted some guys ke70 in his front yard, with "ke70.com and www.rollaclub.com" all over the back of it ! I'm like - Sweeeeeeeeeeet" - went up, said "oh hey, this is kinda random, yada yada, I am Teddy from RC, this is jason and *explains ^^ to date*. Turns out, he has nothing to help us with, but insted was awesome enough to direct us to supercheap back in mooloobar. So, with our new found map & the excitement of meeting a random member of the club, straight off the street - we were back on our way again ! 4:45 - Arrived at supercheap, they shut at 5 - got a pack of washers. W00t. Back into Town. 5:30 - Back at car, put crank nut back on, but washer was just rubbing part of pully. So, we got a washer off the back right shock tower, spent 15 minutes with a hand drill'in out the hole to fit. Slaped it all back on the car, w00t, it worked. 5:45 - On our way back, knocking noise from rear right is getting worse. pull over. Nut from top shock is missing. UGH!. Do you think a ke70 has another 12mm thread (14mm size head) nut ? yes, 1 other. on the other shock. UGH. Fart around for about 10 minutes, to find that because no washer was put back onto the shock top as a replacement, nut had worked its way into the rubber mount. Could we see that? No. So, put a washer on from the kit we got, and back on the road. Traffic was a joke, Storm front was intense. See pics. lol, I'm pooped. I got home at 9 pm.
  4. I will be in with Xany :lolcry:
  5. Either re-tap the thread, and put 2x 12 mm nuts on it, and tighten them up aginst one another, using the nut on the inside of the 2 (closest to the engine) to try and wind it out. Or Weld a T bar onto it somhow and undo- it Or vice Grips as stated above Or Try freezing the stud some-how with a range of legal and illegal substances, and then vice griping it out Or Soak in WD40, Hit end of stud with a metal, flat ended hammer & then one of above methods Or Call one of those mobile stud removal guys Or Put on an electric fuel pump, as it sounds like you've been having fun with the.. lack of fuel lately lol.
  6. i can't wait to drive one :jamie:

  11. nice :)
  12. i would love to go, but unfortunately this clashes with a wedding i am going to !
  13. No offense mate, but its people like you that give our legal system a reason to be in place.
  14. The automotive trade unfortunately is not a registered trade like plumbing, or building. This means, every man and his dog can - and will work on cars. When you go to automotive school, you learn about vehicle components. What works, why things happen. Without joe-blow going to tech school, he doesn't realize that doing selected modifications could potentially be an issue. If the neighbor's son's daughter's friend's handiman's uncle thinks that a modification can be completed, then hell - he may as well be correct, because the strength of the rules regulating what can and cannot be done on cars may as well not exist; considering how little appears to get picked up these days. fortunately, i have little to no time for people that try to do modifications like this. Because, it would not only waist my time, but make going to automotive school a waist. Why even bother going to school in the first place, if the next guy in line is going to work on his friends car & get a cash job out of it. I think even common sense these days is optional, and for some is regulated by what comes in a little package, normally obtained either weekly or fortnightly. Its called a Salary. Depending on the size of this factor, gives people a reason to do things there way. can't afford to get the plumber in to finish off that outdoor fancy feature?; Ah, better keep saving money. What about the back patio thats over hanging the rear house drop off ? Ah.. need to get that approved & built.. Better keep saving as well; or make some budget changes to suit. But what about my car, id like to put some pleasure into it as well ! Ah, that don't matter, yo' . Want it to go around corners better? TV has those V8's around a hill, that look low with big wheels. *brain fart* if i put big wheels, and get my car lower - it might actually go better !. Ah, but here is the good thing. I don't Have to pay someone who knows what there talking about.. i don't even have to worry about legalities.. chance of the card deck says i wont get caught in time, or if i do - they'll probably pass it or look over it. So, down to the local bob-jane Umart for some special Out-of-rounders on the widest set of fu11i s!ck rims, complements of China Casting Co. Back at the house, little jimmy joe, now onto his 3rd VB has realised that you should use the angle guard on the angle grinder, as safety is first. The neighbor's son's daughter's friend's handiman's uncle arrived to give his opinion "Ah yeah, lop a coil off here, Car will pass the coke can under the sill test = lets go". Now that the car has 4 bits of metal missing (not going to even ask how they managed to get the front struts apart _ ); time to install those habib-spec wheels. "Ah "Gulp goes the last VB Can" - we need another pack man. Lets install the wheels. Turns out that the fronts hit the struts.. ahh what do we do ? Head down to auto bahn to get some spacer plates & some more vb.- wow, how easy was that? Problem identified -> Solution sorted -> 2 birds killed with 1 stone. Not only does jimmys car now look better, on a scale of somethings better than shopping center enhanced hub caps - BUT NOW ACTUALLY DOESN'T HANDLE. It just barrels into corners better. Ah, you don't need to learn about Suspension geometry. Not that it changes the travel rate, or effects things like toe or camber - let alone bottoming out.
  15. Showing the guys at work this, has sent some of them into a state of disbelief. Considering the new 200 series land cruiser twin turbo diesel makes 195kW and a whopping 650Nm of torque, you've got 1/2 the goods and almost all the bragging rights. hahahah 610. i can't get over that :)
  16. *shaking head, crying in laughter and total disbelief*
  17. No more under bonnet mood-lighting Jarrad ? :)
  18. Direct Deposit or Pay Pall is what i can work with these days ! No need for one of those nasty credit cards ! hahah Ted
  19. Teddy +1 - vehicle unknown.
