  1. G'day sorry to change the main subject but seeing as there is some good info about oils I'd like to ask what the best oil is for a ke70 5speed box ?? The car is a ke10 with a 4k and is a dedicated race car and just been put back together after 10 years or so
  2. Just a thought if you want to use the 37x103.8x8 valves you may be able to adjust your tappets to take them (Its an advantage if you've got a high lift cam) It will reduce the rocker angle in the same way recessing your seats would But this is just a theory I haven't done this and I'm not even sure if there would be enough adjustment and then the springs maybe stuffed up anyway has got me thinking what would fit : )
  3. An update I now have two ke 10's Owner: Pat Username: KO 10 Location: Moss Vale Vehicle name: Milky Vehicle model: KE 10 Body : two door Date Made: -67 Vin: 232267 Colour: White Engine: 4agze+20V Vehicle name: Binky Vehicle model: KE 10 Body: two door Date made: -69 Vin: ke-10~396971 Colour: white/blue/green/goldy brown Engine: stock 4k
  4. Forget the question that got asked and let's all focus on drifting : /
  5. Apparently the Wagga track has been approved so thins are looking up : ) (I saw in a face book post )
  6. Could be valve guide seals too when the motor is left over night a small amount of oil passes by them and settles on the piston and with the first stroke up it'll send out a white puff then clears quite quickly the cool mornings will make it more noticeable plus the rings maybe on the worn side if the smoke is visible after it's warmed up Just my thoughts though from the same experience
  7. I don't know if this is the place for this but I just came back from the DLRA salt lake speed week and guess what I saw ; ) a sky blue ke55 running a commodore V6 , when I got talking to the fella and his son Joel jones ,this was an 81 ke55 1200pushing 114mph at 99hp and now a V6 commodore pushing 137mph at 137kwasps the father son team salt lake racers class ran E-GC E=184-260ci gas=G C=coup The one thing that stood out for me and the other fellas I when there with was how helpfull all the racers are no matter what disciplines car-bike-steamliner what ever they are a credit to motor sports !!!
  8. If you have a heap of 3K's and 4K's time a lathe shit loads of parts why go looking for another Bigger Better more expensive option go get a different motor it's cheeper hmmm is it. ?? I'd love to develope something bigger all donations welcome ; )
  9. Well close your eyes and play with your push rod v8 Simple !!

  11. just a question ive got a 20V silver top in my little ke10 its got all the rwd set up but no hoses I didnt fit the set up and I'm not sure what goes where .Has anyone got a pick of there setup ? With the quads are they water cooled ? If it is ,is it worth plumbing up ? Ive had a look the 4a-ge water pump thread but dos'nt go into the 20v side of things Anyway any help would much appreciated
  12. Break n clutch reservoir sorted
  13. No offence taken I'm not the best at this : ) and the car isn't a runner yet the guards really need to be sorted befor it moves or they'll get smashed up bad
  14. Just a bit of an update all happening again now the cars at home in the shed and a week off too so here's what's happened Hand break adapted from commodore too toyota easy as then ran new front break lines had a little bit of stuffing around cause the Standard VR flexible lines were shorter so wouldn't reach the bracket so moved the bracket not rocket science but hey ,need some remote fluid bottles that look nice and aren't massive I need three two for breaks one for clutch ( might make them ),also knocked up a front spoiler out of alloy nothing huge but neat and then onto the rear shocks the standard 10 shocks fit but are well inadequate at best and will have to source some adjustable coils I read about being able to adapt commodore ute shocks but there's the fella who's ads on the R Club home page who's very clued up . Then the fun starts flaring the guards there's a few options - cut n weld on , cut inner guard then pump out and fill this will be a panel beaters job f$&k it they know what there doing and I'm sure it's going to be worth the cash outlay

  19. Just to keep it fresh - any updates ??
  20. I've mixed up my cam angles there a bit : (
  21. The fire walls been cut out between the two rails that head vertically down its had 4" ruffly put in ill post some photos now I've Finally got it home and in my shed where I can start work on it again : D
  22. The cam isn't to hard find some one who grinds from blanks it's the same for anyone wanting a custom race cam no need for big budget stuff but the crank will need to be custom made there's no worry about the counter weights they just work the same the tricky parts the distributer when I was working out the points positions I found the only way is with a V8 electronic dizzy grinding off the lugs leaving 0 ,270,180,45 if there's real interest ill post the timing positions and cam degrees Ps for anyone thinking the K motors a pice of shit well let's look at from my point of View there cheep simple and can have a lot of mods without big dollars and no need for engineering the K motors a good platform for this build there used in everything ,road, hill climb, open wheel ,rally, there's even a thread with one in a side car so power isn't an issue it's the application that is PPS I still think this needs to be done to a 4AGE for no other reason other than every thing else has been done
