go to the firewall, pull the clutch cable. how much does move? 1cm gap is optimal
i bought a cheap clutch cable from ebay and i had to make a 1inch space cause it was too long.
if you see it pushing out, undo the bolts then push the gasket back in by hand
i love threebond!
threebond in Japanese means "none leaking 4k"
edit - stu, i carry a full tube in the glove box, just incase :rolls:
your local bursons should stock it or mercedes benz truck centre
ive had the same problem, 3 sump gaskets and was still leaking.
best is to remove the engine and do it, so you can be sure its seated correctly.
apply LARGE amounts of "threebond" mitsubishi sealant witch is the best ive ever used!
also what i found that really helps is removing the studs and fitting nuts and washer from the block.
with large amounts of threebond. finger tight the sump, recheck bolts after 30mins (don't OVER TIGHTEND!) and thats it.
wheres your leaking from? rear corners?
if the oil pump in the trans isnt building up pressure would cause a delay to select gears.
my money is on torque converter or oil pump. (on the noise issue)
remove the trans and start her up, see if the noise is gone
the only real problem i can see is measuring and adjusting pre load on the hydros.
resurfacing lifters, installing, check preload. shave rocker post accordingly?
