  2. i got crown hubcaps on my 14X7 0 offset modgies LOL! there still a steel rim so they fit nice and snug
  3. http://www.wadecams.com/ seams like wade are the only guys that do hydro cams (go ford 250 pre X flow for profiles) I'm also keen to see what hydro profiles the 5k gurus run. not too sure how big regrind you can go with a stock cam? might need a semi finished cam from tighe with a wild hydro grind.?
  4. wide open throttle during compression test? :blinks: never heard that one? do you trust this compression gauge?
  5. be a dodgy c**t and trim the tab! or look closely on the housing should say what globe it takes!
  6. when my head was off, i took it to my machinist for him to check the valve seats. i poured kero down the valves and saw it become wet. he put a vac souce with a plug on the intake port and measure the Hg. all were about 5 hg(off the scale good) that there seats were fine. but number 2 exhaust valve was down at 2 hg. this is where i started stressing, he grabs the hammer and taps the valve and the vac shoots up to 5hg same as the other. was just a bit of carbon or metal swaft. THANK KCUF FOR THAT!
  7. Timing bumped up to 20ish, pulls like a school and doesn't feel like its running outta puff 125kph in 3rd at 7 grand, mad fun
  8. It doesn't like cold starts on 12 I wonder what's it like on 20, brb bumping timing up :D
  9. i would even back the valve adjustment right off and then check the compression. 30psi doesnt seam right at ALL! edit - if you look at 3 and 4 adjustment screws, are they further down than the adjusters? EDIT EDIT - give the valve a couple of taps with a hammer then check compression again. could be a peice of junk holding the valve open. don't do anything further untill you report back with your findings sell the beams to a ke70 owner and get a worked 4k in the altezza!
  10. all good mang. theyve been gapped to the stock .8mm? i was thinking going 2 inch till the back of the hot dog. then reduce it to 1-7/8 then back to 2inch to the final straight thru muffler
  11. i got the standard exhuast till the diff then a straight thru excel muffler. when i did the manifold gasket there was a light brown discolouration in the intake manifold, seams like during overlap, the fresh fuel wasnt going thru the exhaust cause it seams restrictive and back thru the intake. what plugs should i be using for this high comp motor? thanks stu!
  12. lmao aye stu i got acouple Q while your on my topic :P I'm not sure if my exhaust is tooo restrictive but pulling from 5 to 7 grand feels a little sluggish. but soon as it hits 6500 it seams to bounce off the tacho to 7 grand. a fella that used to race speedway said it sounded and felt like it was running out of timing and "points were bouncing", I'm running a electronic dissy anyways so that doesnt make any sense? I'm running 12 degrees atm with no vac advance. (mechanical advance would be around the 35 degrees) should i play with the timing or wait till i get the tractors on?
  13. how about thursday the 3rd?

  23. take it to a machinist! you will need new seats to suit the bigger valves and possibly bigger/smaller valve guides to suit. how about valve retainers/springs? will the head be ported? crow cam double valve springs p/n 4220 $90 a set. .500" max lift before they bind
