Quick update: She passed rego (but my wallet didn't), has all of its electrical stuff done (cept the driving lamps)... Then once the wheel alignment was done... Issues!! Its got -6 degrees camber!! About 3 times too much!! The LATE model Sigma arms are too long, and I will have to change them for shorter, EARLY model Sigma arms. They are similar in appearance to the Corolla unit, but about an inch longer... Which should be perfect (fingers crossed) Stay tuned... :)

Hey Spode... Check my car in projects :) Basically, its Sigma lower arms replacing the Corolla ones. 6 degrees is bullshit... Even the trip to Launie and back chewed the tyres a bit!! And she's a bit of a pig to handle. Early model (late 70's GE) arms are the go... As for P:36 being the best van... Man, I wish you'd seen my older one!! That WAS 'the shit'!!

Go the phat hotwires!! Gonna get some good pics of the van when its 'officially' registered :) Until then... Here's my BMW. 1990 535i, auto, 155kW, 203,000km. She was a stock-as-a-rock 1 owner. Then I tinted the glass, 30mm of slammage on Lenso 18s, clear 'euro' lenses, and a VDO headunit and 2x10in JBL subs in a ported box.

Man!! Paperwork is a motherf@$ker!! I got a genuine receipt from Q on sunday (thanks bro). I will get her rego'd tomorrow (once I get paid). UPDATE of progress: I had the rego check which it passed with flying colours. All the electrics are sorted (cept the driving lights, I'll get them done soon), and she got a wheel-alignment... UH OH!!! The longer lower arms from a LATE model Sigma are toooooo long. The camber dialled in at -6 degrees!! 3x too much... So the next step down will be EARLY model Sigma arms. They are visually identical to the Corolla unit (press-in balljoints), but they are about 1in shorter than the later version Sigma arms (which have bolt-on balljoints). They should be spot-on... Providing I can find a good set of them :) I'll keep ya'll posted.

Not sure... But the van will be REGISTERED next time!! :lol: I got rain on the way back, and after months of driving the 'perfectly behaved' BMW, I ended up with 1 1/2 turns of opposite-lock at 90km/h!! SHIT!! She nearly caught me out... lucky there was nothing in the other lane... :) Contemplating a run thru Sideling, weldborough, elephant and/or st mary's passes for any of us who are keen peddlers :) . And perhaps Day 1 route of Targa?? A great day, but a club drive somewhere would've been cool.

Fun times look like they've been ruined by paper-trail bullshit... Coz I don't have a purchase receipt for the van, I can't register it!! What da Phuk?? I paid a few hundred buck for it out of a f@$kin paddock and I need a f@$kin receipt?? What a load of HORSE-SHIT!!! So I doubt she'll make it to the meet on sunday... :cool: :y:

Looks like I've been f@$ked over by SERVICE TASMANIA!! They won't register the van without a receipt of payment. I told them in detail why this was not possible (stretching the truth where needed), and they tried to tell me me that the van was NEVER registered in Tassie before!! They wouldn't even give me a Temp Unregistered Vehicle Permit to bring it to the event on Sunday... KHUNTS!! So I don't know if I will just throw my BMW plates on it for sunday, or drive the BMW up, or not even come up at all!! I am SOOOO irate!! Service Tas need to get their hands off their cocks!! :cool:

P:36 is currently at the Auto sparkie having an R31 alternator fitted, reverse lights and horn fixed. All things needed for rego. Fingers crossed she'll make an appearance in Launie on the 18th!!

Nice one guys!! This is what its all about. Quality advice and experiences. I'll buy carby cleaner next time!! :) Jamie- A slammed matt black van, dark windows, gunmetal painted bumpers and other chrome bits, and 17in shadow chrome wheels!! Oh, and I tried fitment of a '96 corolla steering wheel on the my Van... Fitted perfectly!! Only issue was that the horn-contact-ring didn't line up. Shouldn't be difficult to fix :P I'll fit the '96 steering wheel again once it passes rego!!

I have SHIT-LOADS of random stuff... Lots of struts, springs, lower arms, engine pipes, heater boxes, steering arms etc etc etc. All working, used condition, but not new. Will empty my shed out and have a proper look soon.

Fingaz crossed it'll be registered by then... Not gonna be pretty mind you. Just a different bonnet and grille and a couple of driving lights. All the $$ has been spend on suspension, brakes and stuff.

She's in the electricians this weekend... I got an R31 Pintara alternator, and my electrician retro-fitted it into the Corolla housing. New bearings and stuff in it too. It should be adequate to handle the draw from 4xs 100W driving lights and that thermo fan!! Fingaz crossed it'll be registered this week... Keep ya'll posted :D

Some 40 or 50 mm Bilstein Coilovers would be nice!! It'll ride like a concrete floor... But f@$k it'll handle!! About $2000 a pair!!
