like, when your slowing down, and leave the car in gear, like engine braking.
ye old 4k in the sierra trick...
have you done a full service, leads, points, dizzy cap, rotor button, plugs and timed the motor at the correct RPM?
cheers, andy
what gun is this? is it definately right?
your saying it was saying 10 on the gun before you turned it an unknown number of teeth, and now its saying 10 after turning it a number of teeth, somethings not adding up...
what rpm are you setting the timing at?
nice, thats a good description of static timing, altezzaclub, your just so old school its cool  now if i ever need to quickly static time a old points motor i can :)
out of fuel?
blocked fuel line?
what sort of timing did you have it set at, at what rpms?
did it stop, or did you turn it off and then it woudlnt restart?
so it turns over but doesnt start, and you have spark.
all your vaccuum stuff right?
you could do it yourself, just get the machining done.
its not hard with some advice from here and a gregorys book.
would probably cost you around a grand all up at the worst case
haha i wonder :P
can't believe you drove it like that, i woulda guestimated the toe before going anywhere with it that bad.
if the steering is still a bit light, or you think its a bit weavy at higher speeds, put some more castor on it :)
cars that lock front brakes are a skill to drive, my patrol ute has a bad habit of it (Too much rear weight)
it is something to learn, get some 3rd party property insurance, and put up with it, you will learn a lot!
lol, aint that the truth, i through away a few parts (I NEVER THROW SHIT AWAY) and then within the next week i see WTB for like 3 of the things i threw away :blinks:
you could get an RACQ inspection on it.
but if its rust free, id be looking at
oil leaks
leaking rear brake cylinders (they always do it)
cracked rubber brake lines
cracked suspension bushes
siezed or floppy shocks
chopped springs
f@$ked centre bearing on driveshaft (about 150) common thing to pack in too
sticky front brakes
handbrake needing adjustment
faulty lights
worn brake pads
worn out ball joints
thats about all i can think of.
to be honest, if your doing the work yourself, expect to spend around a grand to get it roadworthy :)
