  1. who were you trying to send the motor with? tried e-go.com.au? theyre very good on price and yeah, 400kg, lol, as was said, much less http://www.celica-gts.com/forums/index.php?topic=12876.0 this link says its 262 lbs which is 118 kg which if you add the box will prob bring you around the 165 that was mentioned up there ^ even if you allow 200, you will be well safe
  2. take the 5K, you will never get offered that for a stockk 55 again. how has the car cost you 6K?
  3. whats done to it, if someone offered me 5K for a ke55 id take it :lolcry:
  4. tell them you want 7 and see what happens. depends if you wanna keep it or sell it...
  5. you'd be retarded to take anything a super cheap auto worker says as anything but a blind punt ;)
  6. what 4wd? and what pressures are you going down to?
  7. I'm with mitch and also des about penrite gear oil being shit. like absolute complete and utter shit. i used penrite gearbox oil in my trol for 3 changes, and everytime shift quality was absolute shit, especially first and second. remember patrol gearboxes are huge f@$kers, make criuser boxes look like toys. it was so poor i asked the people and they suggested a nulon G70 i think gearbox additive, and made it no better. got the shits and decided to try some of the good old no fuss VMX80, in its plain white bottle with just a little sticker, no fancy pants shit, the change was instant, havnt gone back to penrite since, and it really set my mind. also, now use castrol coolant, which seems to be quite good stuff :)
  8. people running really thick oils, like 30w70, i hope you like sludgy motors, cause thats what its gonna cause. also, excessively thick oil increases oil pressure in your big ends and mains, this elevated pressure can have a hugeee effect on surface temperatures of the bearings, and in my book i would avoid that, and run the thinner oil, 20w50 is still thick. i don't even run oil that thick in my 15 year old 300K diesel, not a big fan of penrite as they try to push thicker than recommended oils, which cause sludging, i use shell in my diesel, and at the moment my 3t has the old oil out of my diesel in it, but for a motor i care about i would be looking at shell or castrol, theres alot of info on oils if you care to read it all, all the codes that say it complies with this and that, if you read them you will find alot of things interesting, the reason i use shell in mine is cause it meets a certain aus standard, but not other international ones cause it has such a high content of some really good lubricating stuff, banned overseas cause its not the best for the environment... twinky, are you saying the oil drains out of the head while the motors running, or after shutdown?
  9. usually you would have to lap the crownwheel and pinion before resetting the preload, which is why its usually left to the professional isnt it? i got my diff and box rebuilt a few weeks back, W57 and alfa romeo LSD reset etc, cost me 1100, by the time you factor in price of parts i think i would rather pay to have it done professionally. is there a reason you wanna do the diff yourself?
  10. where are you located? autobarn are cocksuckers for price jumps etc, unless its something they sell alot of they mark it up a bunch
  11. have 3tgte, need pics of afore mentioned blonde with attitude to decide if trade is fair
  12. no worries mate, the two older guys that work there are great guys, know their shit unbelievably, and are hilarious, and the younger bloke is nearly as good, i wont go anywhere but there for parts anymore :)
  13. use a puller, never failed me in a spot you can get to, if not the fork, might demolish the balljoint, but your usually replacing it anyway, just need a quality fork and a big hammer.
  14. can you drive the car? if so, take it to beenleigh bearings. theyre on logan river road in beenleigh, they have something to do with autopro i think, but trade as beenleigh bearings. if you take the car in, and say, i need a dizzy cap for this, i can assure you, they will have the correct one on the shelf.
  15. google it. e-go would be my suggestion, but think they only do national. consider contacting schumacher cargo logistics. i imported my car from the US with them, and they are quite good to deal with, and do LCL, just depends how soon you want the parts...
  16. mmm, honest is a strange way of putting it. theres one place i know, who has selected very meticulously a type of lighting that makes your yellow 50 dollar note, look the exact colour of a 20. like, not a oh, thats a bit like a 20, about 5 of us pulled our wallets out and were all handing over 50s to the dude collecting, before he went, guys i need 20s not 50s, and we were all like wtffff, you have to look at the number, there was deadset no difference in colour
  17. nearly time for this again, anyone going this year?
  18. i find the trick is to empty your bank account into a safe place before going to such establishments, like a bank account you can't access from your phone or have a keycard to, or can't get instant transfers therefore, you can't spend a couple of grand in a night and wake up in the morning wondering why you bothered when you could have bought an average girl drinks all night, saved 1500 and got yourself some pantie time. evil places indeed
  19. what he said^^ if your getting them to actually go 4wding, go the 8's. if you just wanna look cool, go the 10s alloys are better for holding the bead than steel wheels. but ive got 35s and run them as low as 8psi on my 3 tonne patrol to get out of a situation, and it still didnt roll the bead. the wider you go, the more effort you have to put in to pushing the tyre out onto the bead, so in a side load situation with low pressure, its more inclined to drag itself off.
  20. you wont be sending a bonnet with aus post. max dimension is 1m. if you can work out a courier company, or maybe consider shipping it as LCL (less then container load) i would drive out and grab the parts and sort out this end, for fuel money and something towards my time...
  21. so your proud you come from the southern hemisphere?
  22. I'm sorry, but i seem to be missing something here. a quote helps if your responding to something, or if your not, you really need to open with WGMG
  23. and on that point. wgmg, wankers with southern cross tattoos and stickers. feckers
  24. postage to where?
