Yeah, never deal with plazmaman. Their products might be good but the guy on the front desk answering the phones is ʞ©$ɟed to deal with. Ended up building my throttle body the wrong way round so they had to re do that, that is now at specialised power porting as we have decided to cut the top of the mani and go a front facing plenum for packaging reasons. Other than that, just organising odds and ends and trying to find time myself to do more and get the rest of the fab work finished by luke at motorfab who just can't help but keep doing other peoples jobs haha. Cheers, Andy

Yupp, It was on ebay a while ago. I spoke to the seller, he was very very un-helpful in providing any details of the build to a prospective buyer, so I bought a real 2 door in the states and imported it :) In updates, HKS head left today for flow testing and cleaning up pending results, obviously its been ported by HKS. sent with it manifold and TVIS plate and all will be power ported. Should net some good gains and driveability. Cheers, Andy

Banjo, where did the fridge ones come from? Would be great in my patrol, which earth's the pin out every time I do water crossings lol. And Cheers peterd for sharing the info on the pin switches to match oem. Cheers, Andy

Thanks, I will look into it and find out :) B.L.Z, I am sure you will see it one day mate :)

hmm, any idea on time frame? and a vague name so I can do some googling? will be tuning sooner rather than later but that will probably not be til around Christmas I imagine

I think you will find the sheet of the floor is actually a large part of bracing the car against twist. much like a ply sheet on a stud wall, the stud wall will hold plenty of weight, but if load is applied on a angle is will rack over and fall down, the ply sheet stops one side moving without the other, thus bracing it, this is what the floor does in the car, structurally very little, but brace was it does alot. my seat is mounted from cage to tunnel very solidly so that will help stiffen the tunnel, and the X in the main hoop will stop the rails wanting to spread in or out

sooo, its been a while. but, the brakes are sorted, more or less. gone with performance friction calipers front and rear, ZR34 model. difference sized pistons front to rear to get the balance right. Seat is mounted steering is converted to rack and pinion but there are a few things I am not happy with, with the work that was done. The steering shaft is too tight to the firewall and wont pass engineering, the ball joints are just about maxed out. ended up with MCA S13 coilovers in the front, which have a great standing in the race industry and Murray was great to deal with when doing the shocks for the rear of my ute, taking on an almost impossible task and pretty well nailing it. cage is nearly finished. brakes have been measured to make hats and mounts for the rotors. Now organising a turbo and will get that to the shop so once cage is done exhaust and intake will get done. looking at GT3076 and still considering whether to cut and shut manifold or keep the centre entry. and radiator mounting Have spoken to Matty Spry and he has told me to research into ECU's, his suggestions are Autronic SN-4 motec or haltech if I want the dash setup. which is a tempting option instead of 10 gauges, although it does deviate from the original plan with the car... E85 is what I will be using, with 2 x bosch 044 and siemens 2200cc injectors. photos...maybe when its a bit more together. any thoughts opinions or inputs on the above is greatly appreciated :) Cheers, Andy

you are not the first, and will not be the last. I did mine on my patrol ute a couple of weeks ago, its just frustrating isnt it :)

Upgrade Front Suspension Ke 30 Any Ideas

And I will stick to mine, what you have done is interesting, what shocks were you running in the setup before and after going to twinshock? I still maintain what you do with 2 could be done with 1. -

Oh I can, because I understand the science behind it. what experience do you have in this field to conclude two is better than 1? you are talking about controlling 250kg/corner with 2 shock absorbers. It is overkill and not required. I control over 1100kg per corner with single remote reservoir shocks, and they do just fine including on hard corrugations. Its about quality, not quantity.... -
interesting info though...

I cannot help but think, with the weight of a corolla a well setup single shock is always going to do the job better... -
looking good, you are going to use 100mm square plates each side of the tunnel to bolt the seat mounts through, so spread the load through the sandwich plates yeah? Loving the progress :)
-
Or just turbo the bastard and be done with it ;)
-
If you want to run with something 30 years old, then the 3t is as good as anything else I suppose :)
-
seems like a lot of work when there are so many other options available.
-
why are you using a 3tc in the first place? besides all the suspension points raised above...

Just reading through this, the complaint seems to be that its too bouncy. and altezzaclub you seem to be suggesting to loosen the front up more. wont this make the problem worse not better? I understand the point you are making about wanting the rebound to be soft, but I am not sure if what you are suggesting is going to do what the OP wants? Cheers, Andy -
And I'm in for this, Interesting comments about visibility, I have a floor mounted pedal box in mine which makes me sit further back and I know what you are saying about front corners, being so square its very very easy to learn the parameters of the car though. Cheers

so everyone was OK? I am glad the cage help up well, I remember there being some conjecture earlier in the thread about its strength. (unless I am dreaming) Yay to KE70 rally car. is it new thread time or shall you still be building it all wrong? :P I do love this thread, great work guys, sorry to see it come to an end such as that, but thats racing! Cheers, Andy

Yeah, I can imagine the star picket creating an issue Trouble is, when I do get pulled over, it is illegal :P What does the bending, are you actually scrubbing the underside or just the gravel? I have never notice the floor being on an angle, interesting stuff... the car is also very low in the rear from the looks of the photos? Is the ke70 build going to be happening soon? :)

good work guys, nice to see its hanging together and improving all the time. Why the dramas with the scrutineers? Cheers, Andy

Separate Exhaust Pipes For Each Cylinder

not that it would be an issue on a ute, and I can't talk, my exhuast on my ute is 3" unmuffled exiting under the passenger seat as it comes over the gbox crossmember and what dave said is true -

by 200mm or is it 250mm? either way, its behind by a reasonable amount...
