Actually heres KE20mans: KE20 with 7K
-
Hey Sloth, Got any pictures of the engine bay with the 7K and twin SU carbs setup?
-
I got BP ultima in hobart (brooker highway). I think it might have been around $1.52 or $1.53, while regular unleaded was $1.41. On Flinders Island its $1.71 for regular unleaded.
-
Tassie has just got BP ultima (98 octane). I tried it last night. I noticed a slight difference in power over the regular unleaded petrol, and smoother acceleration. fuel

I would, but its the weekend, and its after hours. I'll check out Jaycar on monday
-
Had a browse on the Jaycar site too. Didn't find it. Saw a speed corrector though: speed corrector Was it a while ago when you got yours?
-
That sounds like not too much trouble. Was it a while ago since you put in the kit? I browsed on the dick smith website but couldn't find anything. Maybe they haven't listed it on the site. Did you have to adjust the kit so that the low fuel warning light switches on when there's 5 or 10 litres of fuel left in the tank? Or is it already set up, ready to go? I'll check out dick smith tomorrow.

Do know where the electrical part that switches on the fuel light, like is it in gauge cluster, or in behind the dash somewhere? Do you know how it works? Did you mean there are kits available for putting in a fuel light? I think the KE70 has got the same capacity fuel tank as the KE30 (50 L) :P, but I think the fuel senders might be different. If that's so, there could be different voltages, therefore if I use a part from a KE70, the fuel light could come on at the wrong time, or not at all. If that's the case, I was thinking of getting a relay from an electronic store. Then measure the voltage from the fuel gauge wire, when its down near empty (E). Then I could set up the relay so that it opens at that voltage (by putting in a resistor). I had a look at some KE70 wiring diagrams in a gregory's manual, but I couldn't find the fuel light on the diagram. I looked over it twice, not sure, maybe they forgot to put it in. I looked on the later corollas, I think ae, (way more pages than the corolla 30), but it just had a wire coming from the fuel tank to a box with fuel switch.

I haven't been over to bellerive yet. Carline told me around $330. I think that was for genie The guy recommended pace maker headers. I looked on the pacemaker website, but couldn't find any for K engines. There are also hmheaders: hmheaders It looks like all the manufactures make 4-1 headers for the K engines. Probably because there isn't much difference in performace with the 4-2-1, for 1.2-1.3 L engines. Probably need to do custom for 4-2-1 headers. I'm just getting an idea of how much they are. I might have to settle with some secondhand extractors, since I'm on a Uni student budget :P

I'm thinking of putting in a low fuel warning light in my KE30. Just as a little extra feature, and something to do. :P I noticed that the instrument cluster on the KE30s have got two more light bulb sockets on the right had side of the dash. There are three lights there. The top one is the hand brake, and the other two are spare sockets. :P I looked in the user manual and some brochures, and in some countries there was a low fuel warning light, as well as a warning light to remind that the head lights are on. I'm thinking there must be some kind of a low fuel light switch, like a relay, thats connected to the fuel sender wire or something. When there is a certain amount of current flowing through it, when the fuel is low, the relay switches on the low fuel light. Does anyone know what part I need; what to look for. The KE70 has got a fuel light doesn't it, maybe there is a component that could be used? Bruce

Went to carline mufflers in Hobart to check out what headers they have. The guy looked at his catalogs, and he found three brands of headers: pace maker, genie, and hurricane. But then he looked a bit further in the catalog, and he reckons pace maker don't make them anymore. Lukey don't make them for old corollas as well. All of them were tuned extractor type. The guy reckons that there wouldn't be much difference between the 4-1's 4-2-1's extractors, other wise the manufactures would of made the 4-2-1's as well :P But I reckon the manufactures were thinking of the customers with the top end performance engines in mind.

Check out this link: 4age conversion Its got links to web pages about 4age conversions

Hey Sean, Are you going to use your old grill, or are you going to use a ta22 grill to go with the twin headlights?

Has anyone tried out Lukey headers?: Lukey What are they like?
-
What sortof difference did they make, like in power through the rpm ranges? Did "bellerive suspension and exhaust" have other extractors for K engines? I saw the ad on TV.
-
Isn't there two extractor design types?: tuned Interference I think the tuned type are good for high rpm ranges, whilst the interference type is good for lower rpm ranges (like for daily driving).

Would KE35/55 taillight trims fit TE37's? Tell us a bit more about your ride; what work have you done to it, how you got it, and history etc.? Have anymore pictures; like of the interior? Nice ride :P
-
Yeah, and it looks like it goes up to 200 km/hr, must be a celica
-
Actually, it could be from a KE50: KE50 dash
-
There is a good write up on "How to build a tough K motor" in the FAQ section. Its a good start. How to build a tough K motor

Maybe a Celica

Hey All (1st Post) Some Inquires About K Series
bruce replied to Sinate's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
I proabably wouldn't spend 1k-2k on a 4K engine. I would put it towards something else, like a 4age or something like that. But if your keen I reckon you could build a decent 4K -
How did your friend go with fitting the V6 engine and gearbox in; was it a bit of a tight squeeze. Have any photos of it?

Hey Leigh, are you thinking of giving it a paint job, or just touching up the fixes in the body work?
