  1. How much does a fuel sender cost brand new? Do they still make them?
  2. Did you put in some different coloured light globes than the regular ones? Like, I had a browse on the net for H4's, and there are different colours to choose from: yellow, white, blue, and ultraviolet: H4 bulbs I've got sealed beams at the moment, so I can't swap to brighter globes. I think I've got 50 watts for low beam and 75 watts for hight beem, or somewhere around there. I might get the head light surround, then put brighter globes into that.
  3. I noticed that there is a gathering at Kmart car park in New Town on Friday nights. Seems like a bit of a mix crowd. I saw one white KE25 there. Where would a good place be to meet up, if we were going to have a Hobart meet?
  4. On ebay now KE30 2 door Looks pretty clean :D
  5. Yeah, its wrong. The first ke37 pic is ment to be a JDM TE37, with 2T engine. Not sure with the second ke37 pic, it looks like a KE35 SR with the front grill. Though its got the fender mirrors, so it could be the japanese version; TE37.
  6. How bright are the headlights know? My low beams are pretty dim compared with other cars at night.
  7. My 2 door KE30 doesn't have the "L" badge, or any other badges on the front guards. It doesn't have a demister, and it didn't have a clock as well. The radio was AM only
  8. Welcome to the KE30 2 door club ;)
  9. I've found a wire from the fuel tank to a spare light socket in the instrument cluster in my KE30. I put a light bulb in the lower right hand side of the instrument cluster in the spare socket, then earthed out the wire on the fuel tank, and the light came on. I figure that this could be the wire for the low fuel warning light, which connects to the fuel sender, since I found the connection end near the fuel tank, along with the wire for the fuel gauge. Though, its not connected, and there is no second terminal to plug this wire into the fuel sender; just a single terminal for the wire for the fuel gauge (yellow with red stripe). The wire was probably there as an option, and the KE30 didn't get the fuel sender with the low fuel sensor.
  10. Hi Cameron, As Xany said, it could be mostly due to the pollution gear on the 4K. I test drove a KE55 with a recently reconditioned 4K, and it didn't have as much goey, as my KE30 with a 4K without the pollution gear. It had slower acceleration, and it felt like it had less power. And mines pretty much stock; I haven't done anything to it, except service it.
  11. Just the name.
  12. I think the KE31 is a TE31 and the KE51 is a TE51
  13. That seems ok. What fuel capacity is the T-18? I guess I could try getting a fuel sender out of a KE70 or a T-18. Swap it over with my current sender, then wire up the switch to the light globe. Then maybe put in a variable resistor to correct the fuel gauge reading, if its out.
  14. It would be interesting if you got them going. Might have to work out how the linkages go for the accelerator and choke :)
  15. On the other hand, it could be an ebay fee avoiding technique. Start the bid real low, but have the postage real high. No ebay fees on the postage :y: I saw one on the US ebay a while back, so they are around. I think it went for a bit though
  16. That's 71.7724 AUD. Thats a bit of a rip off. And its from Thailand. I reckon the seller is trying to take advantage of westerners
  17. Hey 3tg rolla, I think I see your car parked outside a place with boats, just before the hobart CBD, heading towards TAFE and the hospital. I sometimes see the pink corolla parked outside there as well. With the diff upgrade, I heard that a TA22 celica (and maybe other early celica models) diff would be good. I think LSD is available for them. I'm not sure, but I think the bolt pattern for the wheels are the same as well.
  18. I went to both Dick Smiths and Jaycar electronics, and they didn't have any kits :laff: I reckon that most of the cars on the road these days have got the low fuel warning light, so the electronic strores don't have the need for the kits. If I get time I could make one up. I just need to get the circuit diagram; something like this: circuit I think there is a circuit in the silicon chip magazine: silicon chip But that was back the 1993 issue. Articles can be obtained though for $8.80 I've search around on the net but couldn't find much.
  19. Here's an example calculation for the speedo correction (with tyre diameter taken into account): Speedometer Drive Corrections
  20. Ok, is it a big task to convert from cable to electronic?
  21. Yeah, you can get a speedo corrector kit from Jaycar electronics: jaycar
  22. I saw an advertisment in Saturdays Mercury newpaper for a 1973 KE20. Its got a 4K engine, and has got 2 months registration left. Its about $700 Down at Cygnet The numbers 0438086862
  23. That's a bit of corrosion. Would you have to get another head, or would you shave it down a bit?
  24. Would probably have to design a cylinder head from scatch: remanufacturing custom
  25. Could get a custom made head, with inspirations from the 3K-R :)
