Welcome to rollaclub, making the trip over form drivin by heels I see. The Lanos isn't that bad. I drive the wife's quite regularly. Bit boat like though. AE82 is a solid choice.

Head gasket? Do you have a thermo fan? Is it hooked up in the right direction?

There's a lot of wires going into the reg though.

Hi guys and girls. I have a falcon alternator setup for Kmotor. The problem is i am not sure on the wiring. The alternator has a 2 wire output. I currently have wiring in the ke20 for a 3wire alternator with regulator. Does anyone know how to do this or have a wiring diag lying around that will show me how to do it? Craig

If you want an awd system go buy a car that already has one. It is a complete waste of time and money to change a car that never came out with it. I am also assuming you don't weld or grind yourself and therefore you will need to pay someone. I charge $70 an hour to do that sort of thing and you would be looking at probably about a weeks worth of work on top of buying and sourcing all your parts..

Motor and box is out. New motor has head the head ported even more. I'll get some photos up when I get it back. Bottom end is all sweet so I am just doing rings and bearings to make sure I get a few years out of it. Here's a photo of some random bogans that showed up at my place today while I was attempting to work. Now wonder I never get any work done. :P Nah really thanks for your help getting the motor out the back guys. Also a photo to prove that I actually do work on it. Please note the Japanese Safety Thongs. A must have item in Garage Dodgy.

Goddamn glutton for punishment. Pulled the interior out to get at the heater box so i could change it. Ended up adding some artistic touches to the dash, laying sound deadning, deciding to spring for new carpet, respraying the headling black and fixing the dash pad.

Finally got to get stuck into it this week. The head is off getting rebuilt. Unfortunately (and Jamie wasn't to know) 3 of the exhaust valves were sitting 20thou too low into the head, there was a couple of cracks and the head face itself was 3mm out because whoever skimmed it only managed to skim one side of it. Bugger. Oh well. It's all fixable which means it should get up and haul ass once I have it back. The block disappears some time this week to check that over as well. Started the big strip down on the car. Upon removing the front guards I found some unfinished accident damage. Guess I'll need my sledgy out for that one. ;) Anyways diff, struts, tailshaft and springs are out.

I just used std ca18det calipers. You don't need bigger. More than likely running the 4pots and sticky tires you will find yourself ripping castor bars off the framework. Coilovers will fit easy. Don;t buy second hand jap crap. You will regret it. get some koni inserts put into std s13 struts and then do a coilover conversion on them.

R32 is overkill. I had ca18det brakes on my turbo 1200 sedan and let's just say it was a good thing the navigator had a harness on everytime I braked. *edit*: To add to that if you run r32 4spots you will need nothing smaller than a 16 inch wheel with some crappy offset to clear the calipers and then a buttload of flaring. My 1200 ran had a bit of flaring and ran fwd offset 14inch rims. Look at fitting the complete strut assembly, lower controls arms and tie rod ends out of an s13. To give you an idea I ran as above assembly, r31 castor bars with a bit of extra thread turned onto them and I then had the 1200 tie rods outer thread returned to suit s13 tie rod ends. Pretty sure with enough stuffing around you could easily do a similar setup on a ke20.

Bwahaha. Nice work.

It's just too easy isn't it. Hahaha.

Lucky escape. Good thing for that half cage.

I have a dying 3k and many many parts that need replacing. I have myself another car for 5 weeks starting tomorrow. I also have a fair chunk of what was formerly known as Mango, thanks to Jamie. Can you guess what is going to happen over the next 5 weeks? Here's a little hint. My wife stripping down (get your minds out of the gutter) a certain worked 4k so we can inspect it before a quick gasket change and head rebuild. Mechanical first. Visuals later.

RA40 are non vented. You can get slotted for them. I ran them on my old trueno. Slotted with Bendix Metals. No brake fade coming down Mt Gravatt Lookout. If you want to run vented on RA40 you need to look at running Ra60 setup. There is a way to do this on your RA40 struts apparently but I never tried it. Craig

Thta's hilarious.

Yeah that one was at Greaezefest last weekend. Funnily enough I took photos of it for inspiration.

Sorry 7shades. I just reread ALL of your post. I must confess I stopped at the photo of the tool last time. Woops.

Cheapskate tricks with Craig #63 You fellas are taking waaaay too long if you have to use tools to get the window winder off. Just use a piece of rag. Slide the rag up under the winder handle and move it back and forth. The rag will catch the clip and pop it off. :y:

Steering fix can be done by adjusting the nut on the steering box. If you look down on the box you will see a nut with a screw going through it. Loosen off the outside nut. Then get a screwdriver and tighten the screw/bolt whatever it is 1/4 turn. Get someone to hop inside and wiggle the steering wheel and see if there is play. Keep tightening until there is no play. BE WARNED!!! DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. If you do your steering will not centre again and may cause you to run off the road. Just tighten it in small amounts checking each time to see if there is play. Should e all good after that. Craig
