i was thinking a bout the new ft86 concept car and was thinking about the boxer engine

 

has any one put a boxer engine in an early model maybe ke corolla before

 

i don't really wanna do it my self just wanted to no it would be a fun car but i guess you would have to make it rwd

 

any one no or want to give it ago ???????????????

I know a guy with a ke15/7 sprinter with a boxer in it but it does not run the factory floor pan.

When I was at school, a relief teacher brought his Niki-FSM 650 which had a flat four 2.0L engine sitting in the boot.

He competed at hillclimb events and motorkhana's. When he first rocked up most of the people pointed and laughed

at it... Until it was regularly beating their WRX's, Evo's etc.

I love it... i can imagine my mate in his well wikkid supacar WRX (the pod filter and turbo timer are good for 50 extra hp) pulling up beside this and just creaming himself when it launches and chops him to bits even before he's made it through the intersection.

 

I think the strut towers might need some modification to fit a flat engine, as the biggest thing to get past is the width. they are exceptionally wide engines. Maybe it'd be possible into a 70, but I doubt a 10,20,30 or 50 would have enough room in them without channeling the towers a bit.

I doubt it could fit without converting the front end to a tube frame. I personally think a 4g63 would be a better way to go but thats just my personal preferance

I finally caught up with Trevor Crowe's Subaru Justy although Trevor was elsewhere. The crew gave me a guided tour. In the middle is a WRX engine driving the rear wheels. This one has a bigger 2.5 litre block. Up front is a 6 speed sequential dogbox. Co-driver Peter Carmine pointed out he sits forward unlike WRC cars as the fuel cell is behind him. Originally built as a gravel car it had been converted to Targa. The reason why it was towed back into TeKuiti was the rear left strut had blown out of the top.

the niki is wicked!

Well if you had the funds to do convertion like that i wouldnt much around with subi stuff.

 

Id go hayabusa converstion :yes: ,these things are crazy 180hp 6speed sequential box.

 

Certianly more bullit prove than subi time bombs and shit gearboxs.

Saw one of these yesterday on Kingsford Smith drive, it looked unsafe enough with the 650cc engine in it.

its a absolute no go had a mates wrx in me shed to change the motor cause he blew the other one up and we decided to sit the blowin up motor in the rolla but it wouldn't fit without major mods to the strut towers and brake booster

Just happened to find these pics on Club-K. Guyt there has a projects thread going but you need to be a platinum member to see it.

 

This is an a KP60 BTW not a rolla but engine bay dementions would be about the same.

 

wonder how you would go fiting an EJ20 into a corona?
