  1. I find my idle is very stead usually with no idle control. The only person who deals with Adaptonic near you Sian is Bits of Italy in Dandenong. I have only partially dealt with one of the guys in there once and I saw some seriously stupid shit. Also I have a wideband Lamda sensor you will be able to use in the future when your ready
  2. if this is the same model of camry engine then there was a thread on toymods about adapting it with minimal fuss to a W50
  3. ok thanks I will likely do that to my own wagon in the future. So are you going to do any upgrades from here on?
  4. the valves are so far recessed in a 4afe head the stock 4age pistons should be just fine.
  5. wagons are awesome, where did you get your leafs done? did it help much?
  6. no, because the 4afe uses an 18mm rod whist the 7afe uses a 20mm rod, both pressed in
  7. yeah we need to know the exact model of engine, got a pic? also what suberb are you in?
  8. got to do something about that steering wheel though...
  9. hell i don't even know how it would of survived the dyno run
  10. well they arn't going to last for long, hell what will!?

  12. wow you whern't kidding, does he have a time down the 400M?
  13. yeah sure thing, let us know if you need any help in the meantime
  14. yeah alright I should of read it better, pay particular attention to the top inlet port matching to the intake manifold, there is a huge step there, take that chunk of material right out Now for some shameless advertising: if you don't have one already I have custom 4age compatable clutch lines if you want one http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=33681
  15. err no and not even remotely close. Ok 1: stock head gasket width is reported to be 1.2mm compressed although some say 1.15, I havent measured it myself. 2: 250 degrees at 0 lift and 7.97mm for intake and exhaust on the silvertop and 8.2mm on the intake of the block 3: depends on the dyno, between 75 to 125kw from the same engine on different dynos. But an average of 100rwkw average yes. DO a decent amount of porting and most inportant do a lot of match porting! oh and sorry for the delay in reply EDIT: running carbs your on your own to me they are a demon sent device and I as well as not knowing much about them consider them a horrid thing.
  16. looks pretty clean and simple
  17. neat, any plans?
  18. Woelwater WP: while I love what you guys do with the FE's over in capetown this is highly likely the earlier model 4afe. The earlier 4afe was crap in many ways an doesnt respond to power upgrades like the later ones do that you guys got. ae824ate: yes 22 degrees vs 50 for the 4age 16v and 50+25 degrees for a 4age 20V. But you do know about 23 degrees is the best angle for high end power? junhung: chuck a spigot bearing on and it will bolt right up, standard flywheel is directly compatable too.
  19. heres what I think a silvertop package weighs a bare 20v weighs 88kg, I know this as a fact, from there heres my eductated guesses: intake: 5kg exhaust off head: 5kg (extractors) brackets on engine: 3kg alternator: 3kg water pump bits: 0.5kg all up so thats a 104.5kg now the T50 is 30.5kg without a shifter and dry so 32.5kg ready to run and the starter motor and flywheel 3kg+8kg=11 so all up 104.5+32.5+11= 149kg now Irokin this "SR20DE + FS5W71C: 183kg" where is that from? without a turbo I assume?
  20. I might be starting to make my own 4age to early ke mounts soon too, still thinking about it.
  21. thats the most interesting looking ae71 I have seen for a while, I am guessing its pretty good offroad
  22. the motor rating might not mean too much because dc motors especially series motors like starters draw many times more their rated power during startup. However the only reason wire size would need to be taken into account is of voltage drop. They are just used for too short a time to heat up to a failure point.
  23. I would also go the 4 guage, but don't forget to have a nice ground cable from near the block to the body!
  24. stock is only like 16 square mm, don't you think thats a bit of a crazy overkill?
  25. it all depends on how you like your engine to feel. Go for a drive in some S13's and 20V powered ae86's and see what suits. Drifting might suit an engine with a low down wide power spread though. The SR20 is probably the easiest to use but potentially not as fun if you like the challenge of keeping an engine on the boil.
