  1. did wiring myself, it wasn't easy, spent many a night disiphering the loom, as the engine only came with the engine looms, the silvia links the two sides of the engines electornics through the cars main loom and i dind have this, so had to link the two sides together. pain in the ass, had to put i the engine relays aswell. using standard computer as it wont pass engineer certificate with an aftermarket one, stupid emission laws, i have an Emanage that is going on it when it gets the engineers. haven't sorted the speedo yet, but "oh what a nissan feeling" and "ca18rolla" have informed me that a speedo sender out of a ca20 pintara or a L20 bluebird will convert it back to cable speedo, therefore, no more problems.

  5. i think its had the old one cut off then the t3 flange welded on, my pulsar has a different flange welded on it in the same way. th guys going to bring it into work tomorrow so i can have a look.

  7. i have been offered a turbo and turbo manifold for my ca18 the turbo is a t3 off a saab, so it has small exhaust housing. minimal shaft play, but the guy informs me it could do with a rebuild. and the manifold is a standard ca item that has "apprantly" been ported for "better" flow. it also has a t3 flange so that helps some what. what do you guys reckon its worth, as he has said make an offer and i'm not very good at offering for things (ie. i always offer way to much)
  8. lsd=$$$ no matter what its for, i want a bit of drivabilaty aswell, so locking the diff is out of the question, I'm thinking of gettind one of the poorman plate limos and yes i have had a locker before, great fun in the dirt and wet but the understeer and heavily reduced tyre life is a pain, especially when youve got 16's
  9. all these engine may make this enormous amounts of power, but id be f@$ked if they going to be reliable, and therefore whats the point in pushing shit that hard??
  10. i think that would be a big yay on that one, there ver 100mm wider than a rolla so i think it would have to be shortened. and you will also have to get the tale shaft modified to fit on to the diff

  12. yes i think i may have to chop them as they are a 10mm higher with heavier springs!! and stu they may be a dear limo now, but they would have to be cheaper than the hilux ones, every one wants hilux diffs these days!!
  13. yeah ive heard that the skyline diffs are quite good, i will keep this in mind as they will be a crap load cheaper than a hilux. thanks for the tip mate
  14. i'm running the standard borg at the moment, but will be up grading to a hilux later on, not sure when will have to take it easy on it. with a turbo i wouldn't thing the rolla diff would hold up for very long
  15. how does a vac advance dizzy work, cos by the name of it to me it soungs like it advances with vacuum, so there for retarding at ozero pressure????? i may be a long way off track too
  16. got one of the sturts in today, had to make a quick trip to the wreckers tho, its really hard to bolt the xt130 struts to the corolla stearing arms, :P actully it can't be done! any way when i got them it went in fine, i think I'm going to have to sorten the springs that ive got, as the struts are wund all the way down and it still sits quite high, probly the same height as the old ones but these springs are harder so it wont lower as much when the motor goes back in. plus who wants adjustable ride height struts that are at the bottom of the adjustment. got a few pics. the set up the caliper thru my 15s thats the 15 aswell, there not much room looking at the caliper from the front thats with the spring wound up, love those lift kits (looking at it now, it seems to high, so it might be on the jack a bit) thats it wound down, not to bad but they are a very hard spring
  17. thats the thing, we did try and push start it, a couple of times, 3 or 4 guys pushing it, it skided for about 2 meters!! lucky it weights all of 700kg then :P

  19. i was thinking today, some aluminum face plats would be very cool in the 55 dash, was going to make a plate for the speedo in mine, but the number spacing and how to do them scared me off. also the odometer hole, but other than that they wouuld be cool.
  20. sweat as man, I'm working most of the week end but after 5 i'm all good. yeah the bloke from pedders looked after me, he's stooked as for the rolla, he's fully like bring it in so we can have a look when it's done. i will have to get an wheel alingment anyway so ill just take it to them.
  21. don't worrie stu, we'll just have to stick the stereo out of the pulsar into the ke11 for the night, hehe. i can just imagine the 11 vibrating around in circles like a mobile phone does on hard sufaces.. :)
  22. got my struts back from pedders today, was trying to get them to weld the ke55 hats onto the xt130 struts but once they were widened to fit they were able to do it for safety resons, so i bit the bullet and got them to do this instead. :)

  25. got my cross member late last week, and i must say it is a work of art, and wieghts about 4 times as much as the original ca one, did someone say over kill, but i'm not complaining. thanks to stew and lee for hooking me up. also pics of the boot all done the parcel shelf and my modified center consile
