  1. well its almost running. i got it all wired in and it turns over, but wont start. ive got spark but don't seem to be getting fuel, been thinking it over and suspect its the O2 sensor, so i will get that fixed up and see if it will work then. my extractors also don't fit, not happy, they hit the stearing arm, so i will have to modify them to go around it. a quick question too, what have you guys used for your hydrolic clutche set ups? paul
  2. well i went to the jap importer in the area tonight, worked out 150 dollars lighter but atleast i got the parts i need. also spent some more time on the wiring, think ive got it all sorted out, just need to get the fuel pump relay working and some parts from work and it should start, touch wood. havent got the fuel system sorted yet but i use my old pulsar pump in a bottle just to see if it will run.
  3. yeah theres not much, but i have to link the looms from the two sides of the engine, and figure out two relays that i don't have that seem a bit weird. ;)
  4. well ive got the engine where i want it finally ;) , had the box in today aswell, but have to cut the shifter hole before it will fit properly. now i'm starting to work on the wiring, pain in the but, as i only have the ecu loom for the silvia, things would be easier if i had the engine bay loom as well. :P but ill make do with what i got. :) with any luck ill have it turning over by the end of the weekend :D :edit:spelling

thatss good as i only going to run the 55 diff for now, it will break but at least it will hold for a while. what ratio are they standard?
  7. yes they are a 1.2L but they are classified as a 2.4L so it will most likely be big for a 3k 4k, mite be alright on a 3t
  8. that white one was a ke 55, but had the front lights and bumper off a n13 pulsar. was for sale bout a year ago? love the ronna tho, the front is very cool

webbers took me for a drive in his ae82 twinky tonight, oh my god, those things pull hard, i was suprised, this made me think that these engine s in the earlier rollas must be fast cars. this then makes me think how fast my rolla s going to be, with more power and less weight, (than the big port) i'm farking stocked. thats all really just had too say something. paul
  10. thats a really good idea, been thinking of doing one my self i used to be an awsome welder, but a few years of the horse really screws you up
  11. for now I'm going to take it easy on th stocko, but thinking s3 rx7, with limo, been thinking of older hilux aswell, these diffs are getting dear now though
  12. do not get a gasless mig, they are crap, may aswell use an arc
  13. well now that thats out of the way we will try and get back on topic yes irokin and nissan feeling! you guys are right, i will probably go with a vl pre pump then 044 or equivalent from the surge tank. yes i think its a good idea spending this money on the rolla, i love the car (and most old schoolers in general), and this is my new project, to stop spending money on the pulsar. also what better than too spend quality time than building your own car, which you then now inside out and can trust. and to continue to rant on, i bought the car for $450 with a hell of a lot of work done already and got the engine and its crap for $300 so in summary, its really up to you, if you want to drive a v8 commonwhore like every one else, or laugh at loosers when you rape them in your unsuspecting rolla? :jamie:
  14. yeah your probably right, ill have to get some prices and think about that one
  15. oh my god thats gold, i just got one mount from work yesterday, and the other comes on friday :jamie: yeah running a surge tank for sure, i was thinking of going for the vl pump, so should be fine for my nasp, for now anyway :jamie:
  16. absolute gold, your probably just mistaking the middle muffler for a cat. what i did to my mates 4k was, cut the rear muffler of and replaced it with a 2 inch resonator, sounds great. there are resonaters that you can buy for older cars like rollas and geminis that have nice tip on them, there designed to replace the rear muffler
  17. also, has any one got any ideas on what fuel pump set up i should use i'm thinking of going for a surge tank but have no idea what pumps to use
  18. pulled the engine out to day so that i could work on the engine mounts got the drivers side tacked in where i want it (basically put it in the same spot as the pic of ca18rolla's mount that he sent me-thanks) but i cut the passegers side one to the size i need it and now my engine mounts rubber bit fouls on the cross member :) so now ill have to try and find a rubber mount thats a fair bit smaller so it wont touch the cross member but ther than that it all going good :)
  19. mate, open your eyes and search the forum, there 3 or 4 corollas that have ca18's in them on this site.
  20. you have to be creful, a mate and i looked into this a while back for a ke55. you can only legaly go as big as a 12a they wont rego a 13b as its over the size limits. remember legally the rotors are refersted as double capacity. i.e. 12a =2.4lt and 13b =2.6lt
  21. well it s done only kidding this is the test fit, mounts aren't too far wrong, only have to drop two inches and move maybe inch and a half to the passenger side
  22. well i pulled the 3t out the other day, so i've finally started. encountered my first problem, the engine crane i bough is to big to fit under the car ( i had to lift the frount end up and got my cousin to push the crane under) so i'll have to make some small ramps to put the car on then put the stand under. going for my first test/have a look at how big the head ache will be test, with the ca18 tonight after work. deadline is set for australia day weekend too, has to be on the road buy then, so have just under three months of fun
  23. i have KYB's in my pulsar, they are great, they are stiff but ride is still quite good. they've been in for at least two years now and are still going strong
  24. shouldn't make that much difference to the carb, just chuck it on. if it does screw with the carb, just get it tuned, it wont change enough to be a problem.
  25. thanks guys, i actully have an original workshop manual for my pulsar, didn't think of looking for one of them.
