  1. looks like the ra23 has a wider engine bay, as the cross member from the ra23 is to wide for the ta22 so ra23 may be a little better for big engine coversions
  2. ok, is there any differnces in the ta22 and the ra23, other than the engine? i've heard that the ra23 has a slightly long engine bay/front end. is this true or are they the same?
  3. consider yourself deposited
  4. see how much the big industrial blowers are, as in the things they use for jumping castlse and shit, as it may be a hell off a lot less dicking around just a thought (and yes it hurt)
  5. year my tires wont keep up. stupid falkens i got my discs machined down a milimeter so they would clear the calipers, now i have to get the stuts modified is it worth spending the extra money to get coilover sleevs or just put the ke55 spring cups on the them, i'm not sure as as sone as i get them at the height i want i dubt that i will ever change them again. also do i have to shorten them or what? there the same length as my original ones!
  6. :cough: anything you would like to tell us??? :ninja:
  7. hey jarrad, ill be getting the deposit to you with in the the next couple of days, just got to get the money off me mates and we'll be sweet!
  8. yeah i did notice that they come out past the hub, so i will have to be careful with the wheels. i know my 16s will fit but not sure on the 15s
  9. you can justy run the fuel pump from the ecu, and have a switch in the line between the ecu/relay to the pump. that way you can cut fuel when you want and when you park etc.
  10. broke the bank yesterday, instead of dicking around with the silvia calipers, i went to the 4wd wreckers and scored myself a set of LN106 calipers for only $220, which i thought was a good price as it minimises the custom fab in the brake area. (not to mention that there freakin 4 pots) these things are huge, they take up 1/3 of the disc!!
  11. i saw another t-18 with them on it today, must be factory thing. as for price ill ask them next time I'm there.
  12. i thought they were a 14 but after thinking about it they could be a 13 they have quite a wide tyre on them though
  13. saw these today at the wreckers, not sure if i should get them or not, so i thought i might put them up here to see if any one interested they were on a t18, and seamed to have a fairly mean offset
  14. went to the wreckers today, scored myself some xt130 struts and a ra23 clutch master. after sepending some time looking at all the different toyatas down there i disided to go for the ra23, (as some are using these anyway) and when i was fidling around under there i noticed that the peddle box in them is almost exactly the same as the ke 55 one bar the clutch peddle. :) the ke 55 even has the hole cut for the master cylinder in the fire wall, but the ke 30 does not. so clutch souldn't be tohard to work out got my plates today, gunna look good :P
  15. any progress lately mate?
  16. the way your rolla is going, you might have to bring your ute stew, we don't want to be adjusting mixtures on the side of the road every fifteen minutes. :P
  17. what did you do to it, they just started dicking up on my computer aswell.
  18. if i was building the rolla convert i would have kept the rear windows to help get a decent shape for the roof, they wouldn't be a prob when the roof was down as they wind down. that way it keeps it similar shape to the coupe
  19. fuel pump wont be as much of a problem though. (compared to turbo lag) two things you may have to watch though 1. power draw, ie the power it sucks off the engine 13A is a fair bit. (not really a huge problem) 2. and the size of the return line, coz if it is too small for 325lph then it may cause over-presure problems as it can't flow that much fuel back to the tank just a thought
  20. this reminds me of this one that i found one day, some of you might have seen it already. theres some thing about all these custom convertables and having shit roofs
  21. the boot is not right, it looks goofy, and the top is shitful. good for the time tho, imean its even got a colour TV!!
  22. here you go the pics as promised, I'm goind to make some more panels up to cover the lights and the sides and maybe the wheel aswell, but there is no rush for them
  23. well a few more good days on the beast, not really, too hot :S leigh (webbers) came around on friday and had a look and measured up some stuff for the cross member to be made :P stew (kickn5k) came around today, didnt get heaps done but we made a few good discsions on what to do with the boot, and ended up making some custom tank and floor covers to make things with the fuel system pretty, came up a treat :( will post pics up tomorrow
  24. it should nt be a problem unlees youve got the car nailed for haf hour the engine shouldn't be using that much fuel so alot of the fuel returns from the engine to the surge tank, the lift pump will just top up the fuel that has been used the vl pump should be fine as it has to keep up with the pressure pump (in a vl) as they don't have a surge tank if you do drain more the vl pump will top the suge up when you back off edit; by the way that must be a big pump, it wieghs over a kg
  25. not with the money that mullers got under his car, what he will lack in speed he will defenately rape us with in the tight stuff and ive got five gears
