  1. getting the motor in is the easy bit. other stuff to remember: fuel pump x 2 surge tank battery relocation custom tailshaft diff stock or aftermarket ECU (recommend going aftermarket which will give you easier option for turbocharging once you get bored of the power, which will happen soon enough)
  2. white ke20s with chasers look mad. i'd leave painting it until you have it running and engineered at least. have you got yourself a budget for the conversion?
  3. we get 500 - 550 kms to a 45L tank in the ae112r (2001) i got 530kms from a 65L tank in the rzn149r (2003) which i just got last friday (beast) not sure of the kms i get from the ke20 but i'm switching back to the KMH dash and changing cogs on the speedo cable so i should be able to get a more accurate figure.
  4. you can put ke55 brakes straight on which will give you a bigger disc and caliper as well as the stud pattern you are after. would be more than adequate for a 4k/5k setup. i have this (+ brake booster) on my 4age ke20 and the engineer said he was really suprised at how well it stopped. works fine for street driving, but wouldn't work for track days etc.
  5. bet it goes like stink!
  6. te27>ke20>ke25... i believe thats how it goes.
  7. no, i meant the ride height in the first pic
  8. is that pic photochopped?
  9. not sure, some would argue that you don't even need a booster in such a light car. i had to get one for engineering cert.
  10. i got a 4age in mine. had it running and engineered for only nine months then took it off the road to get a turbo. should be back on the road soon. stuff to think about: remember with any EFI conversion you will need fuel pumps and/or surge tank. stock or aftermarket ECU tailshaft brake booster (mine is remote so it doesn't foul on the inlet manifold) battery relocation extractors/headers + exhaust brake upgrade interior (do you want to keep it stock/original looking or do you want seats that actually grip and a nicer steering wheel, gauges etc)
  11. sorry mate he is too busy these days. those ones on trademe.co.nz would be fine and a good price.

  13. nice to put a few faces to a few names. thanks for organising fellas.
  14. blowing diffs is a common fault in that model townace so i'm not sure they are that strong - obviously be a bit better in a lighter vehicle than a commercial vehicle.
  15. an e30 with a buick. ..wtf!? seems plain wrong to me with the huge selection of good bimmer motors available.

  17. i heard perth is more expensive than sydney now, thanks to the mining boom.
  18. superlites are cool but it makes your brakes look tiny!
  19. $119 for maxxis seems a bit steep. i got quoted $200 ea for the superlites and $115 ea for pirelli dragons from bob jane.
  20. be careful: your 15 and its your first car. especially if your rocket goes super hard.
  21. tyres must be pretty decent for around $140
  22. i don't understand. do you mean the wheels were $600 and you paid $1000 for tyres? or $600 for tyres and $1000 for the rims?
  23. try disconnecting the gauges and take out all the fuses except for the ignition.
  24. how long will it take for your chaser to land?
