  1. mate, it doesn't have to (and won't) happen overnight. just start collecting bits and pieces over a year (or two) until you have everything you need. also buy some tools over time too.
  2. umm, yeah.... good luck with the sale.
  3. have you considered buying this? http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...ic=17141&hl
  4. i can't believe thats the same car that you started with. good work.
  5. seems a bit expensive. what 4age is it? when you say "everything to drop it into a ke70" : does he include tailshaft, mounts, cross member, fuel pump etc. to make up $2000 you could pay: gearbox: $700 computer/loom: $400 (what SSS automotive charged for a loom and ECU) complete motor: $900 if it just includes these bits it seems expensive but it could all be really good stuff. if it has EVERYTHING you need for the conversion then its an ok price, considering it would all just bolt in.
  6. thats why its hilarious that they had to bring out a GTHO and actually call it "handling option". like, "yeah i'd like mine to handle please"
  7. looks mad, you going EFI or carby 7k?
  8. hire cars are pretty expensive, we ended up going in dad's 535i and the missus went in her dad's vy commie to save money.
  9. have you had your ke55 on a weighbridge? reason i ask as my ke20 put on heaps of weight with the conversion.
  10. cool, i'll be meeting up with you all at thornleigh. so you reckon you'll arrive at thornleigh about 10:30?
  11. :hmm: :2thumbs:

man, thats cheap. does that include shipping? what brand are they?
  13. with an engine conversion, the motor from the donor car must be same age or younger than the car its going into.
  14. umm, coz FWDs are gay?
  15. well they certainly aren't a sports car. the only fwd car which even resembles a sports car is an Integra Type R.
  16. yeah, E39 M5 is all class! ITB V8 power in a nice looking bavarian.
  17. my Hella headlights are a universal item.
  18. chargedrolla, what headlights are those?
  19. anything. i'm into our ae112r for shopping trips and general transport. its not a cool car, never will be. its reliable and will still have half decent resale value in a couple of years. i personally don't see the point in wasting money or time on some exhaust so it sounds harder than it ever will be or some cold air induction for a 1.3kw gain or cheap chinese rims or bodykit on it either as it wasn't designed to be a sporty car - its a fwd shopping trolley. love it for what it is. cheap, reliable transport. save your money. just my 2c. if you want a fwd sporty corolla, buy an SX.
  20. dude, i HIGHLY doubt the police won't want to waste their time on a $500 dispute.

  22. pfft. uSA. when have they ever done anything good? i've got a stock ae112r and the thought of a modified one makes me feel sick.
  23. people don't normally mod the 7afe (your 1.8) as its the economy motor. if you feel like throwing money at it, get it handling properly and get some light weight alloy wheels and sticky tires.
  24. i must be getting old, the clothes this dude and his friends were wearing definately show that the gender lines are bluring. dudes wearing fluro shirts that girls in the 80's wore.
  25. if you really want it to be a beast but want any sort of decent resale value, i'd build another motor entirely. that way you can put the stock motor back in when you want to sell it.
