and i was about to ask what the hole saw was for... did you weigh all those bits you cut out? 12kg from the body deadener seems well worth it + whatever else you cut out.

dyno sheets are only good for comparing before and after effects for mods or comparing cars when dyno'd on the same day/session.

buy a better one with manual tranny and stick the rims and front lip thing on it.

some people prefer to do up on old motor because they think its easier on the wallet. but you can do the same with a newer model motor, just be prepared to collect stuff and have it stored away for awhile (depending on how much $$ you can throw away) until you have all the bits.

out of interest, what made you take this route? ( i.e. changing to rwd bits) i kept it all fwd (alternator, water pump etc), cut a few pipes and remote mounted an ae82 thermostat to get my smallport working in my ke20. seemed to cost next to nothing and works fine.

my mate has a spare motor - its a 7-rib bigport from a late ae82 seca twincam. might have to inspect it a little closer.

that has got to be the best quad conversion on here. i've never liked the quad conversions before because they usually look like hack jobs.

a bit off topic: so what gear does the 7-rib bigport motor have? crank? oil squirters? i thought they had all the better late model stuff but just the old head, or is it all old model stuff with just the extra ribbing on the block?

yeah, mine came with one, but now has a mph one as i hacked a tacho and volt meter into it. going to switch back to the unmolested kmh when the car goes back on the road unless someone offers me good money for it as i have a few MPH ones still ok.
