  1. what state are you in? i'd check with an engineer if its going to be on the road.
  2. looks so nice and tidy and i bet its heaps of fun to drive. whats the go with the cam covers? is it to aid breathing?
  3. nice rims.
  4. i drive a white KR42 townace during the day, its got a yellow and orange ladder on the top and a conduit cannon on the drivers side. i drive a green AE112R corolla during the evenings or on weekends. i will be driving my green ke20 again in the next month or so. mostly northern beaches.
  5. maybe it got deployed when the car flipped over. it also looks like the car has been chopped to get the victims out. then reassembled.
  6. and yes, they did a good job of cleaning up the mess
  7. See the Motorcycle? A picture is worth a thousand words. The Honda rider was travelling at such a 'very high speed', his reaction time was not sufficient enough to avoid this accident. Swedish Police estimate a speed of ~250 KM/h (155 mph) before the bike hit the slow moving car side-on at an intersection. At that speed, they predicted that the rider's reaction time (once the vehicle came into view) wasn't sufficient enough for him to even apply the brakes. The car had two passengers and the bike rider was found INSIDE the car with them. The Volkswagen actually flipped over from the force of impact and landed 10 feet from where the collision took place. All three involved (two in car and rider) were killed instantly. This graphic demonstration was placed at the Stockholm Motorcycle Fair by the Swedish Police and Road Safety Department. The sign above the display also noted that the rider had only recently obtained his license. At 250 KM (155 mph) the operator is travelling at 227 feet per second. With normal reaction time to SEE-DECIDE-REACT of 1.6 seconds the above operator would have travelled over 363 feet while making a decision on what actions to take. In this incident the Swedish police indicate that no actions were taken.
  8. gemini hey? might have to suss one out. be good to have a couple of 4a powered ke20's on your cruise. i'm hoping ChrisGT comes along too.
  9. i'd recommend chucking the battery in the boot so the intake can be a little shorter. i love the centre console - is that an original one or a 'made to fit' item?
  10. probably worth between $1500 and $2500.
  11. you could just buy a stock 20v corolla for $10k. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...x=mode+matchany
  12. diffs prefer oil
  13. first the pic of the datura plant, now this?
  14. i guess i'm just having a whinge because Holden and Ford aren't as Australian as the average bogan would think.
  15. :bash: :y:
  16. i had to vent my catch can to the CAI box where the pod filter was so the motor breaths the oil vapors in to pass engineering.
  17. I don't get the Ad for the Top Gear Callout when it says something about the British car manufacturers having to sell out to the Germans and Americans. Um, isn't Holden simply another General Motors brand. last I heard, Ford didn't start off in this country either... I hope it doesn't turn into another "big aussie family car" marketing thing like v8 supercars.
  18. my mate got a v8 VN borg warner cut down to suit his ke20 with brand new discs and brand new LSD for $2000. u will also need a computer (a standard ECU would come with a front cut) or you could get aftermarket (haltech/microtech etc) if you don't have a complete loom to use. fuel system, easy to use a surge tank filled by a high flow/low pressure lift pump from your original fuel tank and then use a high pressure pump to feed your fuel rail. check your stock fuel line size. you will also need some decent front seats to hold you in place. front brakes / wheels engineering write up a budget!
  19. you would probably have to massage the tunnel out with the W series box. i'd suggest the CA18DET if you can get a running front cut. since the 4age never came out turbo its a little harder to get all the parts together. as for the diff, you could get a borgwarner commodore diff cut down which gives you plenty of ratio choices and lsd centres are available and would come with rear discs.
  20. bullshit cars. http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?...;msg_id=2079707
  21. be a lot cheaper to buy an ae82 with a twin cam in already- would look better too.
  22. i believe only one side of an r31 diff has to be shortened for use in old corollas.
  23. how much does a cage for a small car like this weigh?
  24. my corolla fell into the extensively modified category with shannons, they would have insured it for $7000 for around $750 p.a. until i said it wasn't in a lock up garage. then they said they couldn't insure it at all :y:
