What do you mean by zippy? 1st - 4th ratios are the same in k40s and k50s a k50 is just a k40 with an overdrive.

I had a look at a Datsun L20 Turbo today. Its a blowthrough carby setup and looks well suited for a k motor. Has anyone else seen one of these setups? Cheers, Rob

You need a KE70 5 speed sedan tailshaft (two-piece). If you use a KE55 gearbox you will have a furthe forward shifter position and may have to cut a new shifter hole.

bovs are meant to plumback into the intake. if a 7ate doesnt come with a bov, it doesnt need one unless your upping the boost. i think i do have half a clue on how turbo engines work because I'm a mechanic. Obviously you don't have a clue due to this earlier comment. Pull off all the hoses and block up the air leaks. (leave the dizzy vac advance and the pcv) If youve got a KE70 with EGR get extractors or an older manifold.

KE70 ones have a better shifter position IMO, but you will have to cut a new whole for the shifter in a KE5x unless it was previously auto. They also usually have less kms on them. Cheers, Rob
