Been waiting to see this thread mate! :) Thats just bloody crazy. Shame you're not registering it cause you could have some fun with un-suspecting sports cars. How much work was in the back end? Looks like it had a half decent "trans tunnel" to start with, was the exhaust tucked up in there? Definatly update this thread when its going out to Tarmak, I wanna see it beat some commonwhores!! ;) ......when it re-opens that is. ;)

Yeah should just wipe off pretty easy if its a silicone bases goop. You need to use speacial fuel resistant goop when sealing up say a carby gasket, so if the goop you used isn't fuel resistant you might also be able to wipe it off easy with a rag soaked in petrol. :)

Worth mentioning that a 3tgte turbo manifold will also bolt straight onto any other T series motor. Peurto Rican's also do some crazy stuff with T series motors running T04 turbos (or bigger) making 400+hp and running 8 second 1/4 miles...... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=16233

Noticed you put a thread on club-k as well. No. 1 rule there is what Blown5k says goes!!!! :) Apparently all K motors have the same sized valves, 7k (C or E) included. 3kbp heads do have bigger ports, but the valves are just the same size as any normal 3k, 4k etc. Hence I think it would just be a better idea to do some work to your 7k head to take advantage of the fact its only 10 odd years old, compared to any 3kbp head thats now like 40 years old!!! IIHO, 7k's are a torque motor. Use it for the torque and don't expect it to rev too hard. If you want a revier K motor (but still with some torque) maybe look at a 5k as it has a better rod ratio. Or build a 3k screamer if you want 9000+rpm.

Hope you gave the underside a good hose off after driving it on the beach!?

My god, an engine bay of Casey's that actually look half neat!!! Where's the birds nest of wiring!? :) jk.

Yeah a guy Called Rory owns it and he works at Tas plating across the road from Churchill Park Wreckers. He bought it for his missus but like driving it himself a little too much. Engine is pretty sad these days and IIRC the rev limiter is now set at 5500rpm. :)

Pretty much any toyota boos kit will fit on any other toyota. Try in on toyota and if it doesn't fit them you've ruled out one manifacturer! Yes the do have a diametre and spline measurement, just like the input shaft of a gearbox but it would be a bit hard to measure. :)

This isn't a porn mag, you are aloowd to read the posts as well as just look at the pictures!!! :) ....and what would be the advantage of bolting a 3kbp head on a 7k????

If you swap the backing plates then the handbrake cable entry points are going to point towards the back of the car!! Flipping them upside down would point them back to the front of the car, but then you'd need to modify the brake lines and I don't think the backing plate to axle bolts are in a square so you'd have to re-drill the backing plates to suit. All in all, put it in the "Too hard basket" cause you're not going to get any real gain from it. :)

Twin DCOE's (weber) or DHLA's (Delortto). :) http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=19073

.....Or probably shouldn't have started a regional trading thread in the first place! :( I'll lock this up now. Trev should have you sorted so just take it to PM. :)

Wheel diametre in general doesn't change the speedo. An increased "rolling diametre" does. :)

There's some marks that line the chain pulleys up at top dead centre. Remove the timing cover and give everything a good clean to find them. Recommend not removing the chain and pulleys until you've found them all and know where its gotta go back....... actually thats not going to happen with a snapped chain is it!! Derrrr!! :) (there's mine for the day Tom!!! :) ) You only need to drop the front of the sump a bit, not take the whole thing off. Once you start doing it you should work out how this makes it easier. :(
-
That would be nice. I've still got an hour or so of "work" to do. Doesn't help when I'm typing here! :) Those smiley pints look like Guinness Philbey........ go share one with a friend! :( ..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIjlcJCs-24 :)

The tongue on the end of the dizzy only drives the oil pump. The dizzy itself runs of the crankshaft. Hence you can actually put a flat head down the dizzy hole and easily turn the oil pump. Anyway...... was probably running shit because it had a very slack chain and was putting the valve timing out. Now that its stopped I'd say the chain snapped. Might have been a fresh re-build with an old chain (why would you!?) or you've been duped into buying just a regular old tired 4k. Under $50 will get you a new chain and timing cover gasket kit. Couple of hours work and its fixed. Make sure you get all the marks lined up though so you don't put the valve timing out. Worse part about doing it is the need to drop the front of the sump to get 4x of the studs out, Replace them with bolts when you re-assemble.

Bridgstone Eagers. :) .......

So the motor is turning over but the dizzy isn't?

I personally think they work better with the stock wheel/hub cap look. Can always fit the tyres you have, buy a box of chalk and prove me wrong though!!! :) You familiar with flappers? Being re-usable if you don't like the look you can then sell them or put them of other wheels.
-
huh!? DCOE's (webers) are completely different to Su's.

1 7/8 pipe is what you want for the exhaust. Going any bigger will cause a drop in back-pressure and make it run worse. Cam spec will deffinately beneif from a rasied compression ratio. Double or stiffer valve springs would also help. 80rwkw is probably a little optimistic. Expect around 60rwkw and then you won't dissapointed if you get more. Thats for a 5k btw, 4k maybe expect 50-60rwkw.

TA45's also work well. :( Philbey - notice the "10%" with a friendly newby explanation. :)

Does it still have the stock muffler on it Trev? Dad put a Remus on his BMW and it ran like an absolute dog. Had to drill out the jets as the "in" just couldn't keep up with the "out". Maybe just something to bare in mind.

If I give you my missus' peugeot can you blow that up too!? You'll know doubt have a few months of teething issues, just little things like that. Hopefully once they're fixed up once that'll be it. You just reminded me of long night in Hobart once when I was 18 too. Ran out of fuel in the rolla (was stock then) half way accross the Bowen bridge......... at about 3 am. Took me nearly half an hour to push it rest of the way accross and rolled down the hill into Goodwood. Then had to spend another $50 on cab fairs to and from servo and buying a pertol can and fuel. Long, expensive (for a pizza boy) and annoying night that was. :P
