  1. Not ideal but yeah it'll do. Probably want to make a small brace for it up the top though so it doesn't shake around. Oh and if you moved the tacho down a bit you should be able to fit a couple more 2" guages (like oil pressure / water temp) above it.
  2. No worries mate. :lolcry:
  3. Nah not really. Still haven't fitted the gilmer back on yet. I have put some 27mm spacers on the back to fill the guards though. Will have a pic or two after the toyotas cruise on the weekend.
  4. 550cc is really a bit too big for a 5k!! Keen to see this thing running though. :lolcry: Edit: Oh and what sort of wolf have you got a? a V4? If so I can give you fuel and ignition maps for a boosted 5k!! If you want it easiest way would be to send me your little cartridge.
  5. No, because a sedan is fixed and the wagon one flips forward to give you bigger boot space.
  6. Dude, you should have told us the motor had a blown HG to start with, as Raven said you'll be loosing oil pressure from that, and it there is an water in the oil then this will also reduce the engine ability to pump it properly.
  7. You can edit your post....... but you can't edit my quote! :lovin: It's all good mate, we all have our bad days. I'm sure you'll be forgiven. :lolcry:
  8. Did 4ac's come with "Hi-Cam"? :lolcry:
  9. After looking at the pics again, I don't know if your brace to the s/c is the best idea. The thermostat housing is only held onto the head by 2x small 12mm bolts and it would really suck if you ripped it off the head more than 50m from home!!!! Maybe you could attache a brace from the back side of the s/c up to both rocker cover bolts!? Oh and how are you tensioning the s/c belt? or are you converting the other pulley to rib and using the alternator?
  10. Nope. 4k is a stroked 3k. 5k is a bored 4k. 7k is a stroked 5k. You should be able to answer your own question now. :lolcry:
  11. Do you have the fuel pump mounted on some sort of rubber mount? If its hard mounted to the car it will be noisey as hell. As reg, looking at the first pic: right hand side is fuel in (from pumps) left hand side LOWER goes to the carby left hand side UPPER is the (post butterfly) vacuum/boost refernce and the one out the bottom is the return line, which goes back into the surge or fuel tank. :lolcry: you've even got some of my old Ortach (fuel line). Oh and this might also help you.... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showtopic=17418
  12. Odyssey's and CX7/9's are worlds apart!!! :lolcry: You do know they have the same turbo'd 2.3lt as Mazda3&6 MPS's?
  13. Yeah knew you two where coming. We were going to just do it at my place last night but was a bit iffy wheather the pulley PCD and centre hole was going to be the same.
  14. Nice setup! :lolcry: Did you make the EFI manifold? Get yourself a external ignitor type electronic dizzy (if you haven't already) and you can easilly get it running with a single pulse trigger for the ECU (if fuel and ignition ECU) instead of running it coil negative trigger so you have ECU controlled advance/retard. Oh and what size injector you got? Need at least 300cc. Here's some cheap suitable ones if you need some and have paypal... http://www.club-k.co.nz/Forums/viewthread.php?tid=15940
  15. Maybe your oil pump is starting to wear out a bit and its taking longer for it to build up pressure. Maybe a $40 investment in a speco oil pressure guage wouldn't be a bad idea!?
  16. ROLL CALL So who's actually going? Saw/spoke to/text'd a few of you yesterday and seems like we'll have a half decent turnout of RC'ers.
  17. Just noticed your in melbourne, there's a few about there. Maybe just drive the car there and see if you can use it in the parking lot. :lolcry:
  18. You mean the spark plug socket won't fit in the hole around the plug? If so this is also a problem with 13b turbo motors. The casting around the plug won't allow the use of a normal socket. You can buy proper mazda one for doing this but they do cost a fortune, most rotary owners/workshop just get a normal plug socket machined down until it fits in. So.... if you've got any mates who are right into 13bt's ask them if they have one, alternatively you might be able to borrow one from a rotary workshop. Because they're machined they are slightly weaker so if you can borrow one don't be suprised if the say "you break it, you bought it". :lolcry:
  19. Is it an in tank pump or external. Chuck up a pic and I should be able to tell you. Did casey give you the rising rate reg aswell?
  20. +1.... for the Caldina that is. I'm trying to convince my missus that this is a much better idea than the 318i she wants. :lolcry: Dunno if you want to spend this much, but they're just seem to me to be a good compromise between a week day kid hauler for mum, and something dad can have some fun in on a weekend. If you're not familiar with them they are basically just a GT4 celica chassis with a camry wagon body on top. The fact they're AWD can also give you some confidence say if the missus needs to drive in the wet/snow. I think I prefer the look of the 97-98 models..... http://shop.ebay.com.au/?_from=R40&_tr...-All-Categories
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIjlcJCs-24 :lolcry:
  22. +1 for the aftermarket. If you get an aftermarket fuel AND ignition ECU then its not hard at all to get the ECU controlling the advance/retard. Just need a pulse off the electronic dizzy for a reference. If you want to get crafty and make yourself a dual pulse CAS (by combining half the 3tgte dizzy and half of another dual pulse CAS) then you can also run multi coil packs and sequential injection. :lolcry:
  23. You going on the toyotas cruise on Saturday? I could bring one with me if you are. If so sms me saturday morning so I don't forget. :lolcry:
  24. No there isn't an anti-drain back valve in the filter housing, but you can get filters themselves which have them. Not 100% sure but you'd assume the genuine ones have it. If you wanna be wanky then get a TRD one off ebay for a 4age. :lolcry:
  25. So you only started it, haven't actually driven it? Might just be a simple case of fouled plugs from starting and idling but no loaded driving. Take it for a quick hit round the block and then see what its like afterwards. :lolcry:
