  1. Should have taken the peugeot........ NOT!!! After having to get the alternator rebuilt and replacing the tappet cover gasket last week I now only refer to it as the PUG - Piece of useless garbage!! ...anybody want to buy it!? ;)
  2. Any recent updates on this beasty? Want to see how you go with the body - chassis mounting before I start on mine! ;)
  3. Lazy bastard. I've got a few vids....... oh did you want to see them!? That is all. ;)
  4. FACEPALM .....that is all. ;)
  5. Even doing this its not a bad idea to drop the front of the sump a bit. Its just really hard to get the sump gasket to sit nice without doing it. The bottom gets pushed in.
  6. Manual '55's had a 3.9 ;)
  7. Pretty much all performance cams are re-ground stock ones. Don't even consider getting a brand new one if its just a budget/daily built as it'll be heaps (say through toyota) more than a re-grind, which should only cost you $150-$200. If you don't want to have your car off the road for a week or two while the cam gets done then buy a second hand stock cam here (around $20), send it off and get it done, then swap it with yours in one weekend. BE AWARE that your lifters will need refacing as well. Don't disregard doing this or you could rip a lobe off the new cam. Have a look on the Tighe and Camtech websites for cam specs. :P
  8. Try some E85 if its available in your area/state. 13:1 is pretty bloody high. Pulling out timing is only a band-aid solution which is altimately costing you power.
  9. There's his phone number. Call him and ask about his "policy" :P
  10. :P Somebody get that shit to Today-Tonight!!!! Bet that guy will love having his name on the bottom of it!! :(
  11. :P while he was driving!? Look I know honda drivings are wankers, BUT!
  12. +1 :P They're a good gasket. BUT.... look how much gasket there is around ex ports 2 & 3. :( Atleast with a permaseal EM30 the gasket itself is bigger than it has to be.
  13. Yeah its a 3k dizzy. Not that I was doubting myself before! :( Those ones are good to lock up for boost! :P
  14. Thats a hydraulic fork. Do you actually have a hydro bellhousing or a cable one? Pic of it and I can tell you.
  15. Myself and others have had power increases (though reducing the restriction of the exhaust ports) on 5k's............ which are turbo'd. :D
  16. Both carby and dizzy are from a 3k. :D
  17. :D Pending interest on the whole car, you could always save me the trouble of a rebuild!!! Call me if you want to talk about me just taking the (short) motor, and you selling a K turbo kit.
  18. Probably 13rwkw!!! Was never tuned, hence never really made boost....... or power. Do you have that on paper? The whole idea of engineering is basically for the engineer to take responsability and say "yes this car is right to be registered". If you don't have it on paper it doesn't mean shit!! :D
  19. You do realise that they won't pass it over the pits with that engine....... with no engineers signoff!!!!! You could try the TE30 argument, but thats still not going to get around the turbo. :D Hate to say it but you might have to drop a 4k in for pit inspection and then take it home and re-fit the T series....... not that that's really legal either.
  20. That looks pretty cool. Much prefer it than any airbrushed bonnet with the usual dragons, snakes and naked women. :D
  21. Let me know when. I'll come do camera duties for you! :D
  22. Its hard to make a 100% diagnosis with that info, so it could be a couple of things. Input shafts sometimes get noisey so it could be that. Its also common to chew out the lay shaft rod though, and this will make more noise in 3rd (using the layshaft) than it will in 4th (locked main shaft). If its only a K40, I'd just try and find another one in good condition for around $50. Or take the opportunity to upgrade to a K50 for around $150.
  23. Have a trawl through this section...... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/?showforum=67 More K specific info there than you can point a stick at. :)
  24. Yes it is that simple. ;) I would recommend facing the head first though for peice of mind. And while we're on recommendations there's a search function tab in the top right corner. :) Oh and you need to use the 4k pushrods as the 3k ones will pull up about 20mm too short. Don't expect too much if thats the only mod you're doing though. ;)
