  1. What a multi coloured pos! :P
  2. Was called a roadpacer. The 13b had exactly the same horsepower of the 202 but half the torque.... and twice the rev range lol. While on the subject of 13b's fitted to strange vehicles - this is a Mazda parkway....
  3. Definitely appreciated here mate. Honoured to have a little bit of your dads memory live on in my engine bay! Send me some details and I'll get some coin you way.
  4. When i built mine i just got most of the torque specs out of the faq
  5. This is a view I do somewhat share. To be honest if i had to replace bearings every 20k-50k km I wouldn't be too overly concerned, although not ideal. Don't think that means I don't value your opinion and will just go ae86 regardless. Very keen to hear this also. No one it's arguing you don't have the first hand experience, but at the moment you're sort of just telling us you have it and not expanding on the nitty gritty of it! Have spent a good couple if hours today researching coilover kits again. A general consensus on hsd and bc seems to be "ok" but you get what you pay for. There are 2 kits which keep getting a consistent "excellent"... 1 greddy type-s. Problem hear its I'm really struggling to find someone in aus who actually sells/imports them. 2 Shockworks. Firstly the are an Australian company....components may be made in Korea but all the r&d is being done in aus. Am going to contact them tomorrow to discuss possibility of breaking up their kit somewhat. Found a facebook post from them in mid July stating that there last order of 10x stub axled 86 kits will be the last and they'll be going back to 'weld your own on'. Caibs obviously got one of those 10 not sure how many are left. An advantage of not getting stubs is you can graft xt130 etc on instead to have the bigger bearing. Downside - can't use pre-fab 86 brake kit.
  6. You know I'm down for a set mate.
  7. If you have the facility's to make them gav you should do a group buy! I'll be down for a set!
  8. Think you've got me all wrong mate. You seem to think I'm having a dig at you and saying you're wrong when that has never been the case....I even said that at the start of my last post. Real world experience is what I do want and way trying to find last night. And yes i realise that just because you can't find it on the internet doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I want the best front end combo i can reasonably afford that is both comfortable for daily driving, yet adjustable, durable and well suited to some track days etc. Let's face it, if I'm going to drop in the order of $3k on a new front end setup I don't want something that's not going to tick all the boxes. The whole reason of looking at ae86 gear was because of the availability of bolt on pre-fab packages like ajps,t3,bc coilovers, and brake kits like the t3 or grp4 wilwoods. If these sort of options are available for something with bigger axles like xt130 etc I'd to hear about it. At the end of the day the whole purpose this thread was to get personal experience, opinions and suggestions on ajps or t3 coilovers. After some discussion I've decided either bc or hsd base height would be a better option. I liked the look of the t3 wilwood, but after your suggestion I've found the grp4 would be much cheaper. If you really think that I should look at a bigger bearing strut I'm open to the idea.
  9. It's not a wing..... it's a handle like a shopping trolley for when you need to push it :P
  10. Not at all saying you're wrong Matt but you're one of the only people that think bearings it's a major issue. Did a bit of a Google search last night and couldn't really find much about it. Did find however (and sorry to make you concerned caibs) a thread on ae86dc about a snapped shockworks sub axle. Iirc it was on tally's car. Have investigated the grp4 kit (thanks for letting me know about it Matt) and contacted them last night. No vat, €115 freight and you're looking at €683 or au$1088 freighted. They're more upfront about fouling issues when using RCA's than ttt, who outline it in there fitting info. When using RCA's the rotor fouls on the end of the lca, needs to be bashed our ground down even if using an adjustable ttt lca. If using no RCA's or ncrca it's not an issue. I don't want crazy camber or anymore track so not really into the option of ncrca.
  11. ...and only works if you have a fag hanging out of your gob lol
  12. High pressure cleaners are awesome for seats etc too. Just gotta remove them so they can dry well in the Sun.
  13. Just checked through the t3 website and if i were to get 2 kits sent to me it would make a saving of $12 in freight! So by the time the second kit was sent to you it would be more expensive. The arse has just fallen out of the dollar again, got up to nearly 72c last week now back down to 69c. Grrr
  14. Not yet mate. Sitting on it for a little while to see if the exchange rate improves. Why's that?
  15. Don't see why it would be a problem. Removing it and flushing it out with petrol a few times would probably work.
  16. Runner spacing is all wrong, reckon it must be for Honda k series.
  17. I did see that in your projects thread. So you had to buy a whole set front and rear? I can get hsd or BC in front only. I've got fc brakes on my rx4, they are good but unless you can get the calipers and discs etc for a steal like I did can get pretty expensive. The ajps brackets are a bit pricey for what they are too. Pretty keen on the t3 kit, and will get some offer stuff off then in the same purchase. Just waiting on the Aussie dollar to improve a bit, which it is now post Tony! How did you go re rim clearance to adjuster rings etc? Having 15x9 -10 wheels its something that on my radar.
  18. There is one advantage to a noisy lift pump - because I have a fuel cell I don't actually have a fuel guage. The only way I can tell how much fuel I have left is the lift pump getting noisier when it stats to run dry with slosh. I know that's probably not as important to you but if you ever hear it you'll get a good "get to servo immediately" warning.
  19. I've got a fair bit of carby turbo info in my projects thread. Re your projects thread there is a couple of different fuel setups in there too. The turbo 4k thread that's pinned in the engine conversion section is also worth a look.
  20. Hey mate, how's things? When is basky on, might head out for a look?
  21. Bit of a delayed pic upload..... Here was some of the damage during strip down... While it was off the road I removed the dumb pipe and got another bung welded on on a 45 degree angle. Can now easy screw in an o2 sensor when I get one. Read up in the Wolf user manual a bit. The v4 is pre-calibrated for a bosch LSM-11. Highly recommends not always leaving it in when not using it for tuning purposes..... While I'm at it, couple of pics of a little beast I found at a local car show...
  22. Hey mate, I'll have a look at the wire colours on mine for you. I'll cut the plug off and send that to you too. ;)
  23. Its right next to the post whore one! :P
  24. Nah I don't have a part number. I bought my o/s pistons through the guys who bored the block. Asked them for chrome moly rings to suit and that's what I got. Didn't think to note the p/n sorry.
  25. You can look it it 2 ways... Yeah I made something available for all you guys that bought one.... And you all made the gaskets I wanted cheaper! ;) Happy to help.
