  1. Funds pending! |blink| Would really like a turbosmart one, but that means the I'm another $250+ off finished. Thinking I may use another stock rx7 one as a very temporary thing, and do it in such a way it can be swapped out for the turbosmart one easy.
  2. Yeah mate, they came out carby or EFI. Currently has a K50, assuming they've just used a normal 3/4/5k flywheel, but can't be sure until it gets pulled out. When the zuk/rolla thing gets done, I'll put in my W50 with K bell, Stock weight 200mm flywheel and KM20 clutch kit in. |blink|
  3. I now know why Jip has named his rollas!! :y: because he has so many he needs some better way of indentifying which is which to other people. I'm now starting to get that way as the "old car" and "new car" terms sorta won't cut it with another one! I think this one needs a name now! so if anybody has any suggestions, shoot!!? ;) I'm thinking maybe "Suzi", considering whats gunna happen to it. :y: Anyway, here she is..... Yes it it a little rough on the outside (rust wise), but I didn't really want a "good" shell for this project. Has a few spots that will be fixed befor reg (its un-registered) like wheel arches, front guards, rain gutters etc. This is the worst spot, but honestly I not really too worried about fixing it properly, as most of the guards will be cut out and flares put on like the other one (turbo car that is - see what I mean about names hehe), except they'll most likely be 3" rathert than 1". Interior is pretty good, I'm gunna make up some new panels for the back soon and tidy all of that up. Note the air con controls.....which still works! and the best bit......7k power!!! :hmm: Yeah I did pretty well on price......but I can see myself spending several hours with my head in Ben's engine bay over the next few months, so its not like he's gunna loose out!! :) |blink| Also have a long wheel base sierra lined up which I should be able to get for around $500, and then the fun begins! :hmm: Oh one last pic....3/4 of my babies!! :P
  4. Will start a new projects thread for the wagon once I've posted pics in this one and photo bucket has done its thing. |blink| All that needs to be done now is: Exhaust Cooler piping, maybe a BOV too ;) Throttle cable Load maps and tune Actually found a throttle cable this morning when Ben and I went rolla shopping (he bought a granny spec k'sev today) at franks/marks. It was in a V6 pajero and its uber long, so I reckon I could hide it pretty easy. Ok, heres a couple of pics of the 80% complete engine bay......
  5. Is this the ke26 I saw yesterday, sorta the same colour as my 55's and had hotwire (I think) on it? Did look good! |blink|
  6. 1ggte or 1ggtte? ie is it single or twin turbs? If twins, chuck both CT12's on the 7k, and it'll go off its head. Will have torque out its arse too!! I nearly did it on a 4k. |blink|
  7. the BP5EY stock plugs should do the trick, but going up to 6's or 7's in the heat range would hurt. I run B6ES plugs in my turbo K. They mightn't make much difference on an NA motor though.
  8. hahaha, yeah didn't think anyone would actually be stupid enough to think it was a cat!! No wonder they thought it wasn't very freindly but!! |blink|
  9. Yeah pick up the wagon today, 7k goes well. But fark,...does it need some new rear axle bearings!!! Air con even still works! |blink|
  10. I might give you a call tonight Matt. Mainly need the cable so I can load your maps on. I'll take so piccies today...along with the wagon, which I'm about to go pick up! |blink|
  11. Body lifted another recovery vehicle last night. ....... ;) rocky's are only 2 inches longer than a corolla! |blink| with a factory fitted 3y!!!
  12. Ahhh no Kendrick!!!!! Was it a green 808 wags with a 13bbp, gilmer drive and saab chaser!!!??? |blink| What did he blow!?
  13. Yeah will order it tomoz mate, know a couple of people with wolfs, so I might be able to borrow one in the mean time. |blink|
  14. haha. Sean's on the case. Yeah well put it this way.....it now has oil and water in it!!! ;) so I'm soooo close now. Forgot I still need to get another cable from Wolf. otherwise I could have had it running. Powered it up after Sean left, couple of things I noticed that'l need some attention was the fact the fuel pumps weren't working, and I wasn't getting an ignition pulse - but this may be cuase its set on something else like coil negative trigger. Also, must need re-calibrating as the map sensor thought it had 0.1psi on it and was flashing the boost light! :hmm: Looking really good though! re polished the tappet and inlet again and its "Pretty" as the missus said! |blink| You'll have to wait for pics. :)
  15. Yeah mate 7k powered ke36! :( Oh btw, how "sexy" was my umbrella last night when it started raining!! :) You should have seen how many chicks came to huddle under it!! :)
  16. I love cats!!.......But I couldn't eat a whole one!! :) Had a flat mate with a cat who loved to sleep on the bonnet of my white mazda and leave muddy paw prints. The "panic button" for my car alarm was quite good at fixing this problem! :(
  17. Yeah she's off Fishing while I'm still at work!!! :) It is bloody loud isn't it! I think maybe I really should get another muffler under it! :) Oh BTW, it s a 4k with your old 3k head on it. Soon to be swapped for a 3k BP. :(
  18. Hey Guys, Bout time I put something up about this and got the ball rolling. As a few of you now know, Ben (Toy-Yoda) and I have been discussing doing a bit of a "cruise", but with a very different twist!! It has been illuded to a couple of times as the "how far will your old rolla make it cruise". The general out line for what I think would make a good first* outting is as follows: All vehicles are welcome, rollas or not, HOWEVER....This is not a cruise for neat street/show car, but for those who have a second 'lesser value' car or beater. My NA car is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. We're not going to tell you weather your car can come or not, its up to you weather you want to bring it. Key works here are gravel/dirt roads, ditches and puddles, chips and scrathes from stones or bushes.....get the idea!!!! We will be setting up camp for the day in a open area - Think car park in the bush! This will be used as a base for the days activities. I'll bring a BBQ out with me for lunch, if people want to chuck in a like $5 each I can also organise a few snags, burgers, bread, and a carton or 2 of shoft drink. Or once again, if you're a fussy prick then bring your own steak! Activities: The sort of thing we're looking at doing is a few "freindly competition" trials. The open area we use for lunch will also serve as a homemade motorkhana area, with a couple of different courses. We will also find a few not-too-rough tracks to tackle climbing etc, and take it turns doing passes. Depending on how people are doing we can up the anti! When I say "freindly competetion", I mean some very casual scoring. There will be no timing of any event - even the motorkhana. I think the best way to do it is if we all simply 'judge' each other on things like style, poise, and attitude!!! Should make for a more enjoyable day as there will be no winners. Just touching on vehicles again, any vehicles are welcome...but within reason. Remember this is a rollaclub cruise, I'd prefer to keep it sort of just between us, but for example: If you have a freind with a beater and he wants to come, and he'll let you drive it too then thats cool. Just don't go posting it all over other forums, telling your commonwhore driving mates etc etc. When it come to rollerclubbers......bring what you got! For example Leigh has a Drover (sierra), which he's more than welcome to bring although its not even a toyota. Ideally the cars need to be registered, as will will be meeting somehwere in town and travelling out to the spot (30-45 minutes) in the morning. The type of spot we will being going could permit an un-registered car to be trailered to the site. I know quite a few do not have suitable cars to attend. Now I will probably regret this, but if you show some respect I'll let these people have a crack in MY CAR so you don't miss out. Location: The spot has been decided....however I am not ever going to list it here! Some already know were will be going, I ask that you please don't either. If you can't wait and want to know where we will be going, I can tell people via PM at my discretion. We have done a bit of research with the aid of google earth, but myself and Ben will be doing a recon trip shortly, to decide on our "open area". I will be taking my old car and will guage how accessable some areas are, and maybe find some offroad courses. When: This is completely up in the air at the moment with no dates even suggested. Just want to see if there is actually enough interest from you guys befor we start formally planning anything. If not, it'll still happen, except it'll just be me, Ben and some of our mates!! We are however starting to run out of summer, so it may be a good idea if we look at something soon so it doesn't become "Come play in the MUD day"! haha *There's a lot of other ideas that have come up in conversation, and a few different "formats" for the day. Depending on how interested people are in coming, and the success of the first one, I will start releasing ideas for days 2, 3 and so on. And trust me, some of these ideas will make for some unforgettable "cruises"! :( I'll leave you with 3 pictures, that most of you have probably seen already in the Randon Photo Thread.....just as an example/teaser.......... And............................. Forgot to mention above, there will be several "recovery vehicle" attending incase things get a little.....sticky!!! :)
  19. Well if a stock 5k has 9.3:1 (IIRC) then I would hardly call 9.1:1 "high". "High" compression doesn't start till atleast 10:1 if you ask me! :)
  20. :) The red bull can was a bit too long, and the diametre was bigger than the coil too. Just cut the top and bottom off, trim to fit, slit down the back (bottom side of coil), and yeah the bracket for the coil holds it on. If you're going to copy me at least use a V can! :( :)
  21. Nah Cam is too lazy!! :) Who would want a dodgy old tercel LSD anyway when you could use a TRD KP LSD!! :(
  22. Better than that.....Amen to having a father who used to be a Snap-on dealer!! :bash: My siblings have been told...."you guys can have the house, cars, bus, & bikes, I just want the contents of the shed"!! :y: ;)
  23. If thats the case I honestly would not bother with one of those regs just for the return line out of it. Just run a holley red or carter green (either of those will give you adequate flow) and use a $30 speco carby reg (one of the 1-6psi adjustables) and you're good to go! If you wanna spend $90 odd on a reg, buy a Mallaroy!! ;) The return lines in carby ke's etc are more so just a "breather" than a return fuel line as such. All part of the pollution shite attached to the charcoal canister (but I probably don't need to tell you this!). When I set mine up, I didn't even entertain the idea of using it for a return as its like 3mm ID. Just used the normal fuel send as a return and ran new 3/8 send. Have recently noticed that Xe7X's have 3 alloy fuel lines, which are also bigger than 30-55 etc, so they may be more usable! [/rant] :bash:
  24. Yeah Brendo live in Turners beach. :bash: So this would be your car. The guy in Launy you so it to would most likely be Mr Larner (VHR32) 2 replies above yours. ;)
  25. You can just use a "normal" EFI system (lift, surge and pressure pump) as it has the return line. If you find whatever EFI pressure pump you're using is a bit too much, run its power sourch through a ballast resistor to drop it to 6v. ;) You can use one of these regs with a carby fuel pump, however you would bother with a Holley Red/Carter Green etc as they only make 6-7psi. Using a Holley Blue or Carter Black (12-16psi) would give you a potential max boost of say 10psi, and you won't bust the needle and seat open. What are you looking at using it for? Forced induction on the carby 4age you have?
