  1. Last weekend one of our customers (guy in his 70's) was out in his TT 300 on the Gold Coast and hit a floodway at speed which filled the engine with water and hydraulic-ed it locking it up instantly (will have some nice bent roads), the towie that picked it up said a lot of water came out of the exhaust when it was on it way onto the truck and then when he dropped it at work (monday) it did the same, basically the engine still has the Atlantic ocean in it but I have some pics of the plenum:
  2. Been told that this tastes like shit, maybe they are drinking from the wrong hole :hmm:
  3. I thought he was still in Japan?
  4. Cherry Dr Pepper, what was the original flavour then?
  5. He might as well since his build is dormant :laff:
  6. Brad did suspect that earlier on. What brand are you looking at getting now?
  7. Forgot how the 4af was, I was thinking of the 4ac system. I know they don't open like a floodgate. All the tests I have done with the 82 cooling system suggested to me that they flow in at the top and out the bottom but after thinking about what you have said I have started to think otherwise as it makes more sense and if I am wrong then I happily accept that and will cop it sweet. The reason I say it makes more sense is: 1. Thermo switch is before the thermostat to detect hotter water entering the engine turning on the fan to allow cooler water to enter. 2. Temp sender will detect water coming from the engine and not into it.
  8. The 82 throwout bearing fitted like a glove on my T50, here is even a pic of everything I got with the box (notice no throwout bearing):
  9. Place looks beautiful, what are the laws for rust?
  10. Sounds sweet, ever you need anything PM me or call. http://a2zed.com.au/
  11. Well I used a fwd throwout bearing in my t50, I have even used the clutch fork in one. EDIT: just found this in the FAQ: http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?title=Tech:Engine/A_Series/Converting_to_RWD I would not have thought that the 200mm throwout bearing would be different.
  12. Ok, wouldn't mind seeing a VG in a 720 as they really are an underestimated engine, can you make a rides thread?
  13. No one which is why I asked if they were, it is a common misconception that people think that the DETT turbo's are T03's because that is what the DET had. Let me know if you need anything for it.
  14. Go to the wreckers and buy a 2nd hand muffler then give someone an hours rate of 88 to fit it.
  15. No prob, if I don't get any more interest then I will just tell them that there is 15/16 so last minute attendees have a spot.
  16. After market turbo's? The DETT turbo's are T22's, the early Z31 DET runs a T03.
  17. Use the 212 throw out bearing and don't forget to get the AE71 spigot bearing.
  18. The car I did was an ADM sprinter, I ran a separate fuel power and just did the changes in the dash forward which included adding power wires to the non efi dash loom and to the front body harness. The 82 also required the 3 looms as shown in my link above.
  19. You have a RWD water setup in your head. FWD 4age water setup is the same as the 4afe. If the 4a FWD system sucked the water in from the bottom then as soon as the thermostat opened it would be quenched by cooler water making it close which would limit the cooling affect.
  20. Dr wheels on the coast. http://www.drwheels.com.au/contacts.html
  21. Sorry mate, what I was saying is that the flywheels are the same, the 212 relates to the size of the clutch. Get a 212mm clutch kit and use the throw out bearing for that kit.
  22. Putting a FWD efi engine especially the smallport is not as simple as plugging it in, the geometry of the loom does not fit the E7 chassis. The drama I had to go through to make the FWD 82 harness fit my 71: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=12422&st=0&p=171090entry171090 Up to post 39. easiest install I have done is a RWD wiring harness into a sprinter as it follows the engine and the car how it should.
  23. Looks good Ev.
  24. I just used a fwd 4a and 4age starter with my rwd conversion, the 212 is the clutch size so it is the same.
