  1. No dramas, I have done a few autometer tacho installs so you get to remember the wiring but I can't remember what wire you cut for 6 cylinder. 8 cylinder - orange joined to orange, brown to brown. 6 cylinder - pretty sure you cut the orange one (been a while since I did a 6 install). 4 cylinder - cut both wires just how yours is so just wire it up and go. Also, if you wanna tidy the wiring up on the back of it you can undo the 3 nuts on the rear and tuck the selector wires into the back of the tacho.
  2. Red - 12v switched power. Black - Earth White - Illumination Green - Coil -. The 2 small orange and 2 small brown are actually the cylinder selector, how many cylinders has the car got that you are putting it into? And yes the black plug is for the shift light.
  3. Dry media blasters, f@$king sand or bead flying everywhere, much prefer the old wet bead.
  4. Orange and black looks the goods.
  5. In before someone says the rotors are backwards. Let me know how the yellows go when cold, I had EBC green stuff in the daily but they weren't good until they heated up.
  6. f@$k, knew I would forget something. I cannot find any rust in this cab what so ever, kinda worried that it might not be a 720 after all :laff:
  7. Looks good mate.
  8. One thing I am doing is removing the centre caps, look better without them. WTB: unit sticker, flat cap and lowering blocks :laff:
  9. One question, since you are the bitch, do you have to make your own cake?
  10. Fancy? No, not a MT :P
  11. Same colour hey, did it have a sunroof as I looked for pics to show the mrs the other night and this is one that I found:
  12. After having my bluebird several years ago and dad owning a few diesel 4x4 720's I have always wanted a king cab 2wd with an L series but have never came across one that appeals to me. One of dad's friends passed away last Monday and dad had to go an pick up the cars he had at his house, I went to dads Friday night and he said that I should buy the ute (confused as I thought he meant his dual cab Triton 4x4) and he said no the Datsun, I look past the Triton and fell in love (this thing to me looks hot), dad has the bonnet up as he replaced the cap, rotor and points as the cap was broken and it wasn't running right (2 & 3 around the wrong way). So I got it going and look at the motor THIS THING HAS JUST BEEN REBUILT and still has it's first lot of clean oil in it, jump in it and drive it around the yard to find the 5 speed along with the clutch is beautiful and the brakes are enough to pull up an 18 wheeler (exaggeration but you get the idea). Awesome parts: f@$kING CHEAP. Factory tacho dash. Slide rear window. Extractors. Tonneau cover. New carpet and really clean interior. Tyres are around 85% and are mounted to sunraysias wheels. Points to fix: Replace one headlight (already have the light). Replace air filter box. Replace radiator. Replace vacuum switch. Fix drivers guard. (The above parts are apparently from the son damaging the car after his dad died which is why the cap and rotor was broken) Fix dent in passenger guard. Repair rust hole in tray about 10c round. New tail lights (maybe). Things I would like to do: Replace points dizzy with an electronic item from a bluebird. Crystal or projector headlights. Side draft carb for it (which is a maybe). Pics:

I am only going by hearsay, was told by someone out there that the crank came out the front so I assumed that was the reason why. Wanted to head out but had to stay at home and wait for my furniture to rock up.

Yep, crank came out the front of the motor. Weird thing is is that when I was at the drags the other night one of Scotts runs had a few sparks come out from under it, one of the guys that comes to work was there watching with us (built a very well known street/strip car) and said that was from the powerglide pushing the torque converter forward under pressure and is not good for it, it will soon push the crank out the front or stuff the thrust washers.
  19. So A over K? :P

    No.
  21. Has to be a stuffed relay or blown fuse, I no longer have my 82 wiring diagrams but check the fuse box in behind the battery, the front section is for the a/c.

    7.97@178MPH, congrats Scott.
  23. Well unplug the single wire that runs to the compressor and see if it has 12v going to it when the switch pins are jumped if it does then put a 12v positive signal into the compressor, if it still doesn't work then the electromagnet is most likely dead.
  24. Not bad in yellow.
  25. Car & engine?
