  1. And with tool box in hand i'll be nicking...... That is a 4Runner RV6 yes?? Good, i'll be taking the rear diff and on-board air compressor then
  2. Your not the only one that gets the shits when people do crap like that. Its real great for slowing down the traffic flow as well
  3. Yeah thought the same thing when i was having a look at me dads camry indicators. It'll be different, maybe a little tacky. Would have to give it a sniff and taste. It'll be the only to see if you like it or not. Thinking about it, it'll be something that'll only really stand out once its pointed out.
  4. Try some "No-doze" its some goood sheeet. :y: Me and two others drove from Brissie all the way to Shepparton only stopping for fuel, food, toilet and driver swaps. We was too pumped to sleep only taking cat-naps. It was crazy.... Don't know how we made it through Sydney, weird city, very weird. It was legal to drive on the wrong side of the road - they did it so we did it
  5. First of all you'll need some of the wire and connectors from the vx cause the '55 has different fittings and it'll also be the same with the hole in the panel. Don't know what'll need to be done but i know that with the gemini the hole needs to be enlarged about 10mm or so for the blinker from a vs to fit. But like i always say "sniff it and see". Pull (unscrew) the blinker from the '55s panel and see where the vx blinker hits on the panel
  6. Oi, "dog ugly things" yeah right, more roomy then the ae9x dog ugly...... wash ya mouth out son :y: But i'm pretty sure that if you hit a few of the wreckers you should at least find one that'll be happy to help with finding it out
  7. Thats what we figured, but you never know it could even mean "eat more of the other white meat"
  8. 4wd wreckers that have Land Rover Disco's in the yard Or even wreckers that have Rover wrecks (Eg - Euro trash wreckers) Even some MG's used the motor
  9. Here's one reason why you'd what to run either a proper sized center hole or machine up a ring http://planetsoarer.com/offset/studs.htm
  10. True, its only illegal if you get caught. An old mate's daily driver was a sunbird, rego'd as a four banger powered by 308 chevy goodness. But he drove like an old man, and no one picked up on it
  11. Never had muck up day when i was at school :)
  12. Well, i was going to say the front end of a commodore but it wasn't the topic in question
  13. Made the body a bit stiffer. As far as i know, on the modern day sedan/coupe/soft-top (etc) its illegal to cut the parcel shelf cause its now such an integral part of the body strength. But, anywhat, its about what you've done. Where as the brace on the shockie is doing the same thing, but it just doesn't get the same leverage (strengthening) as what your parcel shelf one would.
  14. The 4 speed K40 is While the K50 5 speed is 2.5Ltrs
  15. Yeah typical...... Bow before us, we are your supreme overlord Thats phucking bull shut. Sure we may not get it here, but just how much of the info, "local" websites etc etc are US based so it will effect us
  16. Yeah point taken on a rear drive car. My AE82 Seca has one. If i'm feeling keen, i'll either seam weld or weld in a 4-point (or, if i can legally a 6-point) cage to stiffen the body and chassis of my ke55. But where, or how, did you mount the brace ? Where the shockies bolt to the body of the car or where the struts mount to the car ? A ke70 uses a live axle with a four point linkage and panhard bar system to locate the suspension and shockies and springs to support the axle (or body on the axle. Depends on which way you want to look at unsprung and sprung mass). Whereas, say, a silva s15, is IRS which uses struts and links to both locate and support the rear suspension to the body. A car with struts (from a performance side) needs a strut brace between the towers to stop or reduce camber and or toe (and maybe castor) changes during cornering and uneven road surfaces. Whereas, a live axle car doesn't have to put up with this extra loadings on the suspension pick up points.
  17. Get him to do some research on the new laws cause maximum power for a "P" plater is 200Kw and no mods that need a blue plate(eg - engine swaps) Licence restrictions
  18. Ditto. The only time it'd be of use would be in a car that has IRS (hence the name "strut"brace) Cause of it going between the struts and "joining" them together.
  19. The bearings could be shagged. On the g'box just under clutch lever spring you'll find a bolt (something like a 17mm). Thats the g'box fill hole, you can check the oil level by sticking your finger (or a bent piece of wire) in there. The oil level should be just under the hole. If it is low on oil have a look at the rear seal (would have to pull the prop shaft out)
  20. ^^ ditto :) Brother gets to drive this BMW 650i 2007 model 4.8L v8
  21. searching is a friend indeed To give you a helping hand Simple Digital Systems EM-4 Apart from that, America had the electronic ignition
  22. What ? And go down in a blaze of glory :D :)
  23. Tip ? Be good to your mum When you do the timing, put a jumper wire in the diagnostic plug 1st. The air gap at the magnets is 0.2 - 0.4mm Have you tried grounding the coil to see if your getting spark from it ? Try another spark lead from the coil to the dissy You might even have to try another igniter But anyways, if you've got a digital multimeter here's a couple of things to try.
  24. Hope it goes well its a horny looking thing :D
