  1. Yeah dude, i'd kick me heels up, watch movies, keep it light with the food and see about getting someone to get me a deck chair or something and, while the days are nice and warm, get a sun tan. But most of all take it easy, keep the food and liquids up and don't stress
  2. Yep, its got 8 wheels 2 are very big 2 are very tiny 2 are in between 1 has a shield around it (most times) and 1 the driver hangs on to for dear life :P
  3. The 4a-ge block has the mounting holes (cross member mounts) to use the motor in a rear drive car, so does the 4a-c but the 4a-f block has the mounting points but their un-drilled. The 4a-ge's intake manifold support bracket is just an un-drilled "boss" on the 4a-f block. If you use the "g" head on the "f" block, use the 4a-ge gasket and head bolts cause the bolts and gasket are different for the "f" motor. Don't know about the 4a-c motor. The other things you'll also have to swap over to use the "g" head is the cam gear on the crank and the pulley, the "f" motor uses different ones. LittleRedSpirit - don't let Bill Sherwood catch you saying that :P
  4. the land that doesn't know what a yellow canary is But all in all i'd rather put up with the western winds over having sand in me jocks 24/7 :D
  5. Just one word Toowoomba - if you think its cold wait till the wind chill hits ya
  6. The only missing mount on the 4a-f block was the one for the intake manifold support bracket. Engine mounts for the crossmember were still there. Oh, yeah and also had to swap over the sandwich plate for the oil-cooler.
  7. Yeah true. But i was using the 4a-f block and "g" head at one stage. The only hassle i had with it was that i had to swap over the timing belt pulley on the crank and use the flywheel from the 4a-f. And in the mean time i had the 4a-g block re-built.
  8. Yeah, looks sexy with the chrome lip. Bit of a shame that your way down south cause i'd love to take those supra rims off ya hands :)
  9. If the fuel solenoid doesn't have power running to it wouldn't that mean that the solenoid stays shut and no fuel would be able to get it to the carbies bowl. My 2c would be that if its not the needle and seat then maybe its the gasket.
  10. Here's a link to Toymods that has a guide to DIYing your own quick shift from a ae10x corolla http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19474 The guy's fitting into a ae92 but it'll still fit the ae82
  11. A good while back there was an article in Hot 4's (issue 44??) of a TA22 Celica that was powered by a supercharged EFI 2t-g. The supercharger was a sc12 and the computer was from a Camira (delco unit). The owner was a Tim Frost and the car went by the name "4sfed". He's got a website http://www.4sfed.com.au but its only to do with the 13b turbo thats now in the car. There was a site that had a page on the build of the car http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/toyota/80/index.html (aka: "welcome to daytona's home page") but for some reason or another the site has been deleted.
  12. The 20v 4a-g will slide in and give you all kinds of enjoyment like a greased-up monkey in an adult shop. The motor will look as sexy in the engine bay as finding a trio of lesbians in your hot-tub. Like getting yourself in on the action, the only hard bit would be the wiring...... Gearboxes - C50 will bolt straight up. C52 will be a little stronger. C160 I've forgotten what its from. The 6-speed 'box will fit after you've taken a hammer to the left hand chassis rail. Have fun But play safe :P
  13. Bhaha thats funny :kiwi:
  14. By the way the firewall is the "wall" thats at the back of the engine bay. More or less below the windscreen
  15. Nar i wouldn't say its un-amusing. Its called thinking outside the square. Like, start researching on the Starlets - EP82 GT Turbo (1990-1995) and the EP91 Glanza V (1996-1999). I'm pretty sure you'll find that the manifolds etc can be interchanged. Here's a place that you can start E-series engine
  16. Yeah, can pretty well relate to that cause i've always loved the rollas but i've also got a soft spot for commodores and my girlfriend loves her commodores. And now that we've got a family, the seca's getting a little small for us. So we're getting a commo but its up in the air of what i'm doing with the seca - keep it as a second car (project) or ditch it........
  17. One of the many advantages of using Firefox 2. It has an in-built spelt-checker. Other than that a dictionary is handy (either online or next to the keyboard), so is http://www.google.com.au The "add reply" section has a "preview post" button, which i tend to think some people kind of forget to use when their replying to someone elses quote
  18. They both look like poo
  19. Well in that case My Proudest Achivement would have to be Jacob
  20. Having the motor blow in me twincam seca, pulling it out and rebuilding it a little better. Then 12 months later having to redo the bottomend on a dole blud (oops - unemployment benifts :) ) wage - and thats including the stuff around i got from the engineer (all cause the stupid bolt that holds the pulley to the crank broke off).
  21. For me i'm not too worried. My first car was a ke30 and '30 was its name. When it got it written-off by a drunk driver the next car was called "T-18" cause thats what it was. Till everything broke at the same time so it was called "T-I hate it" so it got traded for the ae82 seca which is just called "seca" and at the moment i think it matches what it's making me do so far - It makes me seek ah parts here and seek ah parts there.... Makes me feel like pulling in to the first caryard i see and trading it but then i take it around a corner as i blew some yobbo into the weeds and i fall in love with it again and makes me want to seek ah parts here and seek ah parts there........... And a "project" ke25 and yep you've guessed it - '25..... At the moment i think its got its own hobby of collecting rust, dust, spiders and other crap.
  22. Yeah know that feeling as well..... like go after a rear wiper arm for the ae82 seca and all the wreckers have is hatchbacks (which are different) and one seca with a broken wiper arm in the same spot as mine. But if you have a search on google or altavista for "brake calipers" you'll find a "few" american auto shops that sale them. Rather annoying cause the only places i found here was for places that re-built them and wreckers that didn't have them. Chevy also use to sell the rollas under a different name as well, can't remember what it was called. That could be shot as well. Edit: my bad - forgot "all"
  23. True as. But you'll still have to grind the 3t block to fit the 4y crank. Find someone to custom build four conrods. Have someone who's willing to bore into the water jackets so that four sleeves can be fitted. And then see if the same someone who did the rods can build four custom slugs to fit the custom cylinders. Yeah using the 4age would a better way to go, but it does all come down to the budget and what your after (period look, factory look or.....) Something else that could be an option is to keep the 2t block, sling in the 3t crank, bore the block for o/s pistons, do a little head work, different cam profile, better exhaust, better intake.
  24. Does depend on which model 2t cause the later model had a wider "skirt". Or so i've been told.
  25. I did it better I did it better Nar, nar, nar December 2005 taking my new girlfriend back to her "parents" place at Marsden in brissie. Flying down the motorway late at night heard a crack under the car, thought "ya just a stone", got off the m-way started hearing a rattle at idle checked the oil and it was fine. Anywho, dropped her off and left after a while. About a kay down the road lost power steer "thats odd!?!", half a kay later the alternator light came on "Oh crap?!?". Pulled over crawled under the car and did the whole touchie feelie thing around the crak pulley which was loose because it had no bolt to hold it on. Anywhat, $500 (yes, five hundred dollars) later to find out that the crank bolt had broke off which in turn caused the pulley to free spin which in turn destroyed the pulley which in turn destroyed the key and its keyway which in turn done in the cam pulley which in turn ground the crank down about half a mill or something. All up i had to get a new crank which from memory cost about a 10th of what it would have cost to get the crank repaired. Ya got off lightly Trev but still all in all good work
